I‘ve found that watching all sorts of videos on spiders works really well, because I don’t have to be near them. As long as a tarantula is in an enclosure with the lid on I can actually get a close look. Something about that makes me feel much more secure… I can recommend DavesLittleBeasties, there are tons of arachnophobes in the comments, it’s really wholesome. =)

Try looking up the recent video trend of wolf spiders doing cute things, even greeting their caretakers with their little arms. For spiders they're really cute, with squidgy little faces and big baby main eyes. They might help you refrain spiders from, "OMG touch me and you die," to, "you know, not all of you are walking terrors." Personally, big spiders scare me, but regular sized and little ones I don't mind. I even let them live in my house so they can take care of the bugs without me having to use chemicals. Once or twice a year I see one hunting in the house, but I like to think we have an understanding that the crawlspace is where they can all live in peace. For all the hatched egg sacs I find down there I would assume my house would be literally overrun with spiders, but nope. Hell, even the crawlspace is tidy; it's not infested with spiders and their webs are neatly tucked away so I don't get them all over me when I have to go down there. That's why I like to pretend the parent spiders telling their baby spiders, "Listen, we got a good deal here, but it's a delicate balance. You can go upstairs if you're curious, the people won't kill you, but if you start throwing ragers up there we're going to have a problem. Go ahead, go see the people house, but remember that down here we get all the food we want and we get left alone. Oh, and keep your rooms neat! That person's giant head will destroy them if you just throw your toys all over the place!"

It's not the type of horror that's meant to make the player themselves scared but rather create a sense of unease and tension as to the survival of the character they're controlling, it's the uncertainty if it's even possible to get a "good" ending. Kinda like reading a horror story, empathizing with the characters, and then wishing for them to get out of the situation safe even tho you know the writer is just playing with the reader and something really bad is gonna happen eventually. So it's less of being really tense when opening a door in Resident Evil because you only have like three bullets left and more like feeling bummed out because the protagonist of an SCP tale meets a horrendous end worse that death at the hands of some bizarre anomaly. BTW I'd like to assume your gf doesn't drug you and tie you to the chair in order to have a conversation :P

Granted, unlike the protagonist, I do talk to her **willingly**, roped up or not. ;P It seems like this protagonist definitely ain't into Spider's... *interests* however. I will say it's kind of disappointing how reluctant the protagonist is- a full submission option not really being available. I think personally for something like this, the main draw is to see what stuff the author came up with in this scenario instead of caring about the protagonist's well-being. Honestly if she went about things in a less... kidnappy way, I think she'd see a lot of success in having a very nice and extremely lewd relationship with someone.

But at that point it'd veer off from the horror genre proper and into dating sim territory, which I'm not quite sure if it was the intent of the creator, to me it seems like it was meant as an uncomfortable middle point in purpose. Not quite related: Not sure why but this little chat reminded me of a game I've played a few years ago, MetaWare High School Demo (the "Demo" was part of the gimmick), which intentionally left gaps in the story with incomplete routes. I guess it's similar to how this game leaves important details vague with sudden conclusions for effect. Your gf sounds kinky ;)
