Thanks for covering Do Not Go Gentle’s latest version. I consider it to be my favorite Requiem list to play although there are others I do play too. I especially liked your highlight of the martial arts fighting abilities and plan to do a new playthrough using this, daggers, and limited magic to see how it goes. I was also encouraged to hear that he plans to switch over to AVO NG as a base. I know that the new Lalaland 3.0 is using it and it looks great. Lala plans to provide some additional updates soon as well but got this version out so those who have been waiting could dive in and get started with getting used to the recent changes. Additionally, I did want to mention there is a new mod list for Oblivion called “Last Seed” that has the best graphics I’ve seen in for Oblivion to date. You really need to check it out and see how great everything looks. Also, they include an alternative start option you must check on in the list that will remove the need to go through the long playthrough and place you at the sewer gate with the options to select your class and specializations before exiting the gate. It will provide you with weapons, armor, and magic spells based on what you select much like Paradigm Start does for Skyrim. I added a few weapon and armor mods into the list but outside of that nothing needs to be changed at all.
@@biggie_boss Skyblivion is not expected to come out until sometime in 2025. That's a little more than so close in my estimation. Yes, it's going to be great when it comes out as well as the complete release of Beyond Skyrim that will feature all of Tamriel some two hundred years after the Oblivion crisis. For those that wonder what the differences are between the two efforts that is it. Skyblivion is close as they can reproduce Oblivion using the Skyrim engine whereas Beyond Skyrim is two hundred years after those events. I am excited about both releases as I am already a fan of Beyond Skyrim: Bruma and know the quality of the product these groups are both working towards. It's up to you, just offered it up as I have played multiple builds for Oblivion but never saw one that came this close to modern graphics for Oblivion. Yes, it still uses the same watercolor type painting for backgrounds but with a lot more detail, density, and movement.
I'm just straight-up unable to decide between this and Fahluaan. It's two pretty damn different visions for Skyrim, Requiem vs. Simonrim. That said, Simon and Aljo have done so much work on their side of things and are quickly approaching the level of changes Requiem to the gameplay mechanics, if not the world.
I think Fahluaan stays hard at high levels but isn't as hard early on. Also it has more quest mods and other content. That being said, I still prefer DNGG's take on Requiem.
@@biggie_boss Fahluaan it is then. That it isnt hair pullingly hard at the start but stays challenging later is all Ive ever wanted from this fookin game's difficulty curve
I have both installed and like each one. I approach game play differently in Do Not Go Gentle as the systems are different. For Do Not Go Gentle, I will try the martial arts, dagger, limited magic role and play it through while for Fahluaan provides a great environment for a battle mage play through due to the inclusion of the great magic mods by Derenii. I especially like the Natura spells as it provides for a great Druid type role play in the game. Biggie is correct in that it is hard to say play this vs. play that mod list as each provides its own unique vision of what the world of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is.
I agree with you on Valhalla Combat. I don't hate the mod its good for what it does. But I noticed in my experience the game got way too easy and it ripped the Stamina mechanics out of the game like stamina potions not being useful and stamina enchantments. I end up getting rid of it. And noticed the game got much harder again which I enjoy certain perks that I found useless in the block Tree was useful again. And Investing in Stamina felt useful not to mention my mage based character weren't able to be sprinting all over the place without running out
@@biggie_boss I always tweaked the parry window to be tiny. Its frustrating because it adds new features and the combat needs depth, but those features trivialize combat and some skills.
Hi, I know it's an old comment but in case you're still wondering... They seem to be from Absolver, a martial arts game. It was cool to see them be used in Skyrim.
