I was looking through book 2 and I found a quote that perfectly describes how the federacy sees the 86 "They weren't innocent children wounded by persecution. The soldiers could see them only as monsters. Machines of slaughter, bred in the republics crucible of hatred and violence. Demons of War that rejected all salvation and compassion, born as man and twisted into beast through no fault of their own. Their warped hearts were beyond saving." 86 vol 2 pg 203
Hey just wanted to give some details about the reginleifs our squad uses -So for starters they upgraded the republic juggernauts from a 57mm to an 88mm smoothbore cannon, also has better shock absorbers, better Armour, a properly sealed cockpit, etc. They are also capable of firing many different types of ammunition. -Shin: 88mm smoothbore cannon, 2 high-frequency blades, and 57mm piledrivers equipped on each of the reginliefs legs -Raiden: exchanges main cannon for an auto cannon with rapid reload and heavy machine guns to support Shin since he's always in the thick of it with him -Kurena: true to her name of gunslinger she's an excellent shot so she exchanges her main gun for an extra long barreled 88mm cannon for long distance sniping, she also has a headset that displays things like wind speed and direction -Anju: exchanges main gun for a multi-rocket launch pad for area suppression to support the vanguard -Theo: no big upgrades but the most notable attribute are the grappling hooks since he's an expert at 3D maneuvers If I got anything wrong feel free to correct me, Hope yall found this interesting!! You guys are hundred percent correct! HAHA When this anime was airing, the hype was real and so as the wait. Some of the episodes from part 2 was always delayed for an entire week! And to make matters worst, the last two episodes were delayed indefinitely due to some production issues and only aired 2-3 months later. Yes, we had to endure the cliffhangers and the seemingly never ending wait LOL
I was a weekly watcher and it was painful waiting for the next episode 😂 To make things worse there were constant issues in production so they had to delay some episodes. The final two episodes were released after 4 months of waiting
Both Shin and ayanokoji always had one straight tone in any situation😆i think its easy for the va since it dont have to show emotion on their voice they just have to talk with a straight face
don't you know he had to retake many times the scene that Shin talking to Lena in the stair cuz of not charming enough for the scene ? It's not easy man.
I have been expecting this video all week! I mean, episode 16 is SO freaking good. It has all: Nordlicht squadron being badass, Shin going crazy, Frederica's power and LENA SCENES. Also, good work catching the symbolism. When they show the paraRAID scar in Shin's ear... yes. He's thinking about Lena. The anime doesn't say it directly but... all of them remember her constantly. Ahhh, I can't wait to see the next episode. It has a certain scene that is *chef kiss*
This series is like that, where you simply cannot catch everything on your first watch through, because they foreshadow so much that becomes later that you don’t know when that one thing you didn’t think was important earlier becomes a huge thing later. The LNs are the same way - those also require multiple read through to get it all.
The show gets only more crazier next, can't wait for the next reactions !!! Man, I love how freaking real this show is, you CANNOT expect to be safe at anytime in a battlefield like the world in this anime.... The cast don't have all that much plot armour...
It makes me darkly amused at Lena's proclamation at the end. Her end goal with the 86 now isn't to save the Republic. She probably thinks she'll die in the upcoming seige. No, her goal in fighting with the 86 as their commander is simple: keep the vow she made to herself that day on the railroad tracks and die knowing that she never gave up, that she still preserved her own honor and principles in a country lacking them.
Well there are enough movies and SF stories about AI running wild, best known is Terminator I think. ;) Shin told Lena about the legion "commander" already in the the first half, in episode 5 I think. Maybe the legion found enough intact human brains already and replaced the old commander with a "fresh" one. Shin's brother ( Rei ) is a proof for that theory. Shin found Rei's juggernaut and his skeleton but without the skull and in episode 9 we saw the final evidence.
also, if u didnt know her uncle Jerome implied that if she let 86 inside that there is a possibility for woman like her to get raped before she died ... i think

There some “Calderos” (I don’t know how appears in English cause in Spanish that’s how’s name it) and in that places there are machines that create the robots in the world of Horizon, well, here’s the same, there are some places, really inside legions territory where they’re made it, but bc that places are in the deeps of legions territory, any country has ever seen them, they just know about their existing but they don’t have images of them
