A really great port with lots of history. We never book an excursion there. My wife has family that lives in PR and when we go there they meet us and we spend the day with them.
That’s an awesome way to do it. Hopefully one day we will have the subscribers to make a post and one of them brings us on a detour! That there would be awesome
Thanks for sharing this information with us. We was wondering what to do in PR thanks to you we know what we are doing!!!! We are from New Orleans area also
Excellent video. I'm getting closer, installer a 55 gal water tank in the truck today and got the lumber for my bed and drawers in the trailer ordered. Leaving in Sept for a winter exploring N and S Carolina. Nebraska winters are just to much for this old man
It was under the Spanish-American war that took place n 1898 when Puerto Rico became a territory of the U.S. not the Mexican-American war. Puerto Rico was never part of Mexico.
I only noticed them on that walk on the outside of the forts. Never saw any in town. But they never bothered me or came near me, if they had I might be still there trying to pet them all. I love animals
I have to say when I came across your video… I thought the views will be breathtaking to watch again since I have been a few times. As you are giving the details about the history of Puerto Rico and the largest fort in the America”s ….you failed to give the realistic facts about the fort. you spoke about the soldiers lack of air in those small cramped places but failed to mention the millions of slaves that had to endure those spaces …some as a mid stop to the Americans. you mentioned it must have suck to load all that ammunition but failed to mention who was storing it…you say you can see how the Puerto Rican”s are proud to have this as a part of the culture but the most important part is skipped. These type of topics don’t magically disappear because you want to glorify it. If you are going to give your opinion about the island then have respect for the ones not mentioned..speak on all its glory and dark past as well because IT HAPPENED!
Appreciate your thoughts and your outlook but I was on vacation and prefer to stay to the positive. On every street and every location I can promise that something bad happened at one time. I’m sure on the street I walked yesterday some kid may have been hit by a car or something tragic. I’m here to enjoy life and the brighter side of it. I’m not an historian and never will be. This channel is her to enjoy the site, wonderful places! I’m sure there is much more history but I was going off what I read on their signs! Have a great day!
Hey I’m just a guy…. Lol. No reason to be rude for difference of opinions ! I hope there is a perfect video that tells the complete history of those amazing forts
@@DetourswithJeff You are so right. I'm a black Puerto Rican living in the island and we want people to enjoy and have a good time while being here. Everybody already knows the dark side of our history.
