CLARE HARNER
1909-1977
American Poet
Written circa 1934
In the music style of Mississippi Delta Blues, here is Clare Harner's classic poem, Do Not Stand By My Grave and Weep.
NOTE: I left a couple anomalies of incorrect words for the text put into the ai, as an example of how sometimes there are things that don't make sense. The singer didn't sing exactly what it was asked to sometimes.
POEM LYRICS:
Do not stand
By my grave, and weep.
I am not there,
I do not sleep-
I am the thousand winds that blow
I am the diamond glints in snow
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle, autumn rain.
As you awake with morning’s hush,
I am the swift, up-flinging rush
Of quiet birds in circling flight,
I am the day transcending night.
Do not stand
By my grave, and cry-
I am not there,
I did not die.
