An open house doesn't have to connect you with a buyer interested in your client's home. The chances of that happening are extremely low. But, what you will find are people who are interested in buying a house.
That means you are coming face to face with people who want to buy a home and are most likely not represented by another agent. These are hot leads ready to find their next dream home and you are an agent who can help them.
That's the power of an open house.
But, don't just throw an open house to pad your pocket with leads. You're doing your client a disservice. Always be going up to bat for your client and operate in their best interest. The point of knowing how to turn an open house into a lead generator is to show you that there is good in hosting open houses.
You might not find a buyer for the home, but there still is a chance that it could work. Worst case scenario, you might walk away with one or two good leads for another house.
