Those that went to Russia often did not do so voluntarily and did not got the option to go to Europe or free Ukraine. Some fled Russia later and told stories. Ukraine is a smaller country fighting for its independence. Some people don't want to fight. That is all very understandable and happens always and forcing them to serve is normal under these circumstances. It is like forcing people to pay their taxes.

@TheGovernor2003 Well you have that opinion, I will now explain why you are wrong. NATO is a defensive organisation, to be used against all military threats in the Northern hemisphere. We in the UK could not use it when Argentina invaded the Falklands, because that was in the Southern hemisphere. But the US invoked it, when al-Qaeda attacked the US. So NATO remains useful against any military threat, not just Russia.
