I took large amounts of lsd, mushrooms, DMT and large amounts of cannabis for a whole decade before a proper diagnosis. It does open your mind in some aspects but yes it does trigger episodes. Nothing will change my opinion on this

@@kelseyoneal4968 responding because I used to take mushrooms/LSD and cannabis. It for sure triggered stuff and no it’s not worth it. Episodes can be dangerous and inducing them on purpose just isn’t a good idea

Before I watch the episode (not diagnose bipolar) but based on my own experiences with magic mushrooms yes, it does cause mania equally to bipolar

I might not outright say it cause bipolar but the mania on magic mushrooms is most likely the same mania experiences by bipolar people

I wonder if it's what I have. Some dr said I may have it. It's just weird if I go over board and take too many shrooms I get super hyper and Idk why.

I am recently diagnosed with bipolar at age 43 and had a horrible bad trip on Lucy back in HS in 1996 which ultimately destroyed me and yet positively changed me in good ways. I get moments of anxiety during peeks at times on shrooms or Lucy but the countless experiences are positive overall and beneficial to my mental health from my experiences💯

I really hope #MAPS puts an end to the psychedelic correlation/causation conundrum. While I experienced hypomanic euphoria on hallucinogens, they helped me cope with immense trauma. NOTHING has ruined my life more than all of the physically damaging side effects of psych meds that I was prescribed/forced to be on long after my last #ZendoProject stint…not to mention the stigma against what schizos and other neurodiverse people *need* to thrive in their own ways (as long as they’re not hurting anyone).

Today is Saturday for me at the time of writing this. This past Tuesday my daughter who has diagnosed bipolar disorder, took shrooms. While on shrooms a few hours later she tried to DELETE herself by ingesting 68 Tylenol pills. She was put in critical care the same night and is currently in a psychiatric hospital. Don’t do shrooms people it’s NOT WORTH YOUR LIFE❗️❗️❗️❗️❗️

I’m so sorry to hear that. My husband with BP took large amounts of mushrooms and he went off the deep end. I agree with you, people with severe mental illness should stay away from psychedelics completely.

I experienced a substance induced psychosis almost two years before experiencing first episode mania and psychosis naturally. I am diagnosed Bipolar 1. Interesting topic to dig into. 🤔

i also have bipolar 1. i’ve gone through the exact same, it was alcohol and cannabis induced i was only 14. now i’m older and very interested in psychedelics, i’ve always wanted to but im too scared i’ll have another episode. i wish i could just smoke and drink do whatever but i can’t because it’ll interfere with my medications. it just sucks i feel like im missing out, maybe it’s best i just stay away from it

@@MajorMajorMajorMajor-jw6qo no never had one before that, and I don't feel like explaining my manic episode, it was a typical type 1 manic episode that lasted 2 weeks, and then I rapid cycled in and out of hospitals about 3 times and some hypomania episodes

Does it mean to trigger mania during the effect of mushrooms or later in life? I used to do lots of mushrooms and lsd. I loved mushroom and never ever had a bad trip. They always made me feel very good and theraputic. It has been a time, I am distant from taking anything but learning that i am bipolar and sometimes i get mania episodes. I think I used to have more. Was mushrooms and lsd are the cause?
