Well. Turns out Whoopi was the sanest person in the room. As opposed to all the yakking women 'needing' to know that Catherine is 'well', while not actually being concerned one bit about the possibility of her having a serious disease. They are entitled to KNOW when THEY want - and how dare Catherine take so much time in informing them - ie even only doing so today, disgracefully *after* telling her children.

Because Whoopi takes note of the facts. Where did the media get the picture, from Kensington Palace or from the private side of Catherine and William? From the private side! If the media downloaded it themselves from the side then they could check it and if it wasn't up to their 'high standard' they simply couldn't have used it. But they sensed an opportunity to make a scandal out of it. But Catherine shares a picture like this every year for Mother's Day and I bet she's edited before too - because EVERYONE does it with private photos.
Because it’s ridiculous! And she is right. A mom posted HER pic on HER Instagram for Mother’s Day with her fam while she was at home healing from surgery. We all edit our pics. Even The View and all them women.
It's because she knows how invasive the paparazzi can be. People forget that famous people are still humans. They are still people. She had a pretty intensive surgery. It could just be that she does not want to be seen. That being said, though, I really do not trust that royal family or that machine, and I can understand why Sarah says she is concerned for Kate's actual safety. I think it definitely moreso has to do with the fact that Kate just does not want to be seen while recovering from that surgery. I also think there might be some truth to the rumors about Prince William having an affair. That rumor has been out for a while now.
Imagine publicly speculating and making up batshit conspiracy theories, on TV, about a young mother who's had a serious op, a cancer diagnoses and is undergoing chemo, but chose to not announce it publicly because she doesn't want to immediately let her young children (youngest 5) know.
2:30 Whoopi got so much hate for this when it aired yet she completely demonstrated incredible foresight here. The irony of Alyssa mentioning Diana when Sara, Sunny and Alyssa are all doing to Kate what the media did to Diana back in the 80s and 90s. Joking, speculating and having fun with a situation we know nothing about is damaging and I hope the three of them (who I like otherwise) reflect and grow from this moment. They behaved like insensitive idiots here and Whoopi called it out.

This is a really personal issue for Whoopi, because she's been there herself. She's defending anyone who is a victim of conspiracy theories, because they are hateful and can destroy lives. Princess Catherine has three young children, two of which are probably following those stories. I hope she and the children are all in Fiji, healing and enjoying the sun far away from the turmoil and innuendo I hope the woman in the car is a stunt double, and the photo is a composite from old magazines. Serves us all right. Did we learn nothing from Diana?

Do they/we all sleep well, now we know she was dealing with a cancer diagnosis while they were involved in salacious gossip and rumour-mongering? She feels the public/press are making up rumours about the royals like they do with celebrities. She feels the royals innocently changed a few features of a pic to improve it. Yes we know, Whoopi is a beautiful actress, she's lost a ton of weight, her hair is gorgeous, her skin is glowing and she has the prettiest smile, aging beautifully, but she's often missing the point of these topics.
She's not the one invested in this, it's Sarah and Sunny who are buying into these pathetic conspiracy theories. It really annoyed me how Sunny and Sara were talking about this, last week. This woman has a right to her medical privacy. The palace had communicated that she would be recovering at home until Easter, and "the world" still was questioning where she was. And now we know why they were silent. Joy got the whole story about Edward the 8th completely wrong, he wasn’t forced to abdicate because of collusion with the Nazis he was forced to abdicate because he wanted to marry Wallis Simpson who was a divorcee. Once Edward and Wallis were expelled from the U.K. that is when they were known to meet with Hitler and Nazis, the understanding now is that Edward colluded with Hitler that if the Nazis took control of the U.K. as they had with many other European countries then Edward would be reinstated as King and Wallis made Queen.

But that's the point. Does she really have to? She had some serious abdominal surgery, and if you talk to anyone who's had that, you're out of it for three or four months. Maybe she just doesn't want to be seen right now. Then, people start judging you on how much weight you may have lost, etc. Then there is a whole other round of media. I just feel like she might need to be left alone. That being said, though, after they treated Meaghan the way they did and Diana the way they did, I can see where people could be concerned for her safety.

How did they treat Meghan? Meghan left of her free will to make $$$ in the USA. To cover her tracks she pretended to have been subjected to same conditions as Diana. But a wise person would see through the ruse. Diana was in a loveless marriage whereas Meghan was in loving marriage with Harry.

I’m from the UK, and I’ve realised after the Meghan Markle fiasco, that a lot of American people are quite ignorant as to who the Royal family are and their paranoia around the British monarchy especially, I believe stems from Hollywood culture I wasn’t aware that Americans have very little understanding of British culture, values and the monarchies role in the country.
