Do's And Don's On The Carnival Liberty. Everything We LOVED And Hated About This Ship In 2023 

For this Class of Ship/The Conquest, these are my comments: For Pizza: you can request the pizza you want if it’s not already ready. Always go to the MDR vs the Buffet, specially for dinner & breakfast too. Much nicer quality of good and sit down service. For lunches, Guy’s, Blue Iguana, and the Buffet are good. For the bed: ask the steward for a mattress topper to make the bed more plush.

The main dining room has awesome breakfast. Blue Iguana makes awesome breakfast burritos. We love the Liberty would sail her again . Thanks for sharing 😊

The best breakfast on Carnival cruises is at Blue Iguana Cantina. My favorite are the Huevos rancheros.

My fam was on this cruise… I didn’t think the bad smell was pervasive (like a low key sewer smell, for us it didn’t strike as a port-a-potty stench), we enjoyed the music acts (the Liberty rock band and the duo Blue Velvet)… the weather was really rough! One of our group was laid up for the first 36 hours 🥴 You’re right- great staff!

Great fyi, their are two buffets one in the front and one in the back , try going to the back buffet the lines are usually shorter !. Love you guys thank you for taking me on your cruise please do more cruises 🛳💜🛳💜🛳💜🛳💜

Hey Kyle, I'd recommend the Celebrity cruise ship the Apex. I noticed how much you liked Virgin Voyages. Give Celebrity Apex or Beyond a shot. We love great food as well. I think you and Casey will not be disappointed.

Rough sea - based on your video it looked like the ship barely moved, so it was rocking with the ocean. If the ship was moving the ship would have used it's stabilizers to help the ship have a smoother ride. Bed - you should have tried sleeping on the sofa. MDR - you should have gone to the mdr on the last night. MDR staff usually sing their infamous goodbye/farewell song (sound like the song "We're leaving on a jet plane). Power strip - be aware that some cruise lines "usually" do not allow power strips with cords. You've been lucky so far that the cruise line did not confiscate it. Kyle and Casey, you 2 are great together. Great having 2 points of view.

Did not use any elevators - not a single one - amazing unique accomplishment, Kyle!!

I love riding the elevators on ships with atriums. The view is fantastic!

On Carnival Breeze, I ordered a prosciutto pizza and it was made for me. It was delicious!

My husband and I cruised carnival and it was definitely a different vibe. I prefer other cruise lines. I think carnival is great for college kids that want to party.

The bathroom was insane looking on the cruise . I thought that right away . For me personally that probably isn't the cruise for me if I'm trying to decide which one to go on. I've loved others more that Kyle vlogged 🥰 I love Disney do a Disney one together some day ❤️

Do they clean the pool each night? Each day you showed the pool it was cloudy. Day 1 you could see the bottom on your day at see it was so cloudy. Too many people for a pool the size of an oversized tub😅. I’ll wait to save again to do a Disney cruise.

The main elevators in the halls are nice . But the glass elevators that face the Atrium . We always chose those . It's a nice view .

We never smelled anything in Feb. but 3 day cruises are party cruise and people putting wipes or other stuff and it effects their sewer system

Liberty was my first ship I have fond memories but I look forward to going on newer ships in the future but my cruise was Christmas of like 2014/15. I remember enjoying Mongolian wok back then.

Not sure how i feel about a podcast but if you did i think the structure should revolve around specific ideas and not simply random, like you favorite cruises in order or you favorite rides at disney etc.

First cruise we went on, we had a balcony on floor 2, and it was straight sewage smell the entire time. We couldn't smell it outside on our balcony or on the upper floors. After that we always got a room higher up. Next cruise in July will be floor 8 I believe.

Little known fact, if you were traveling through the Gulf of Mexico then that would explain the “poop” / “outhouse”smell. Red tide and farmers dumping animal waste into the Gulf from Mexico is likely the culprit.

Nice that you didn’t use an elevator. I had experienced doing that in my younger years but not now. Also, I usually book the room near everything. Thank you for your final review.

We just got back from being on the Liberty. It is an older ship for sure. The employees always smile and say hello. There was a little bit of a sewage smell at certain times walking on the floors with the rooms. We stayed on the first floor and the internet connection was non-existent. As a remote worker I had to log on a few times throughout our stay and had to pack my stuff up and go on a different floor to find enough of a connection to work. There is no longer an Internet cafe so you have to try to find a secluded place to log on, not an easy task! Something I wish someone had told us, there is only one power plug in the room! There is a second one in the bathroom near the ceiling, however the outlet is spring loaded and our charger wouldn’t stay connected!

If you love noodles you need to try NCL. The NCL Breakaway and newer class ships have great free Asian food options on-board. Actually most NCL food is pretty great.

Yes you can't compare the older ships with the newer ones especially when you have been on alot of new ships. You also went Easter time..not a good idea. Never go holiday times especailly when kids are off. I don't mind the older ships only for the fact the the newer ones are way too large for me with 6000 people onboard. But everyone has their own preference. To me Virgin is way too crowded and is geared for young people. Try the new Carnival Venezia when it comes out next year leaving from New York. It looks amazing. Good fair review!!

I was on the carnival liberty in 2020 and we went through a big storm and it was the most insane thing with the rocking. you had to hold on to the railings when you were walking in the halls it was so bad

Carnival Vista or Horizon has the best Mongolian - you go to Ji Ji restaurant for lunch, you sit pick what you want and they serve you and it is free

One of these times you need to try a longer cruise, it can be a completely different experience, not so many people just cruising to gamble and party.

FYI the Pizza Pirate on the top deck will make you a whole pizza, to order, box it and you can take it with you…open till 2 am with maybe a 5 minute wait. They also sell beer.

I was on the Mardi Gras at the end of March. It was rocking and rolling on there too. Must be the Seas right now. Personally I didn't like the Mardi Gras, but it may have been because it was spring break and so crowded. I like Royal Caribbean better.

I was on this sailing as well, the sea was very rough Sunday evening. I had a window view on the 2nd floor and the sound of the waves crashing on side the boat were unsettling.

My issue with Carnival on Alaska cruise is not enough time in ports, so DO YOUR RESEARCH before taking Carnival. Also always take passports in foreign country ports in case you miss your sail away.

The breakfast in the dining room is the only good morning foods!! Buffet is just horrible anytime except Mongolia!!🎉🎉😂😂

I been on several carnival cruises, Liberty, sunshine, horizon, freedom, and ectasy. And for me and my wife we loved the ectasy, we loved the smaller ships less people smaller lines and more intimate feeling. But sadly Ectasy went to the junkyard in 2022😢

The main dining room for breakfast is good and I very rarely go to the buffet for breakfast.

I'd like to mention if you're sailing later this year Carnival will have Starlink on all of their ships by 2024. So while the Wifi wasn't fast on this cruise it should get better when they install Starlink on the ship.

I feel the Conquest class ships really need to be updated. The Conquest class, and Spirit class has the same issue. Both classes are about 20 years old and it shows. As for the shows. The Playlist productions had their time. Motor City and Epic Rock are Carnival's best shows. With that said, it's definitely time for a new concept for shows. I'm very interested to see what is going to happen with the food since Emeril is taking over food production fleet wide.

Wear earplugs! We always bring earplugs on our vacations. Every place we have stayed has had noisy hallways or something going on. The earplugs cut out most of the noise and lets you sleep deeply.

I'd like to say, no ship is for everyone. Everyone has their own tastes so people will find something to like about various ships and things to dislike. And there are people who just plain won't like cruising too - they'll just not like ANY of them. As for any points on age most of these cruise lines will keep a ship in the fleet for 25-30 years - Liberty is sitting at 18 years old so is basically middle-aged. When it comes to Carnival there are two things that feed in to the feeling that she's older than that though and both come down to the styles that Carnival used for close to 20 years. The cabin design you see here was somewhat introduced on the Holiday class in the 80s - that's right the 80s - and refined in to the somewhat finalized look you see here on Carnival Fantasy. Carnival stuck with this design through the Spirit class, Destiny class and Conquest class too (of which Liberty is a member of) - which makes sense since it's just a lengthened Destiny. Sticking to the same general cabin design allowed Carnival to score massive volume discounts of course because they literally built thousands of essentially the exact same room. The drawback to this is a ship that debuted in 2007 has rooms that look like they're from 1990. But there's another part of the ships that displays age too. And that's the public spaces. They were designed to look like Vegas hotels - but the designer based these on the Hotels you'd have seen in the 80s and early 90s. So they're gaudy and loud and tacky. And some people like that - but it really sticks out for anyone that doesn't like it. This is another thing that basically ended after the Conquest class was left behind too. Carnival's Dream class was somewhat based on the Conquest class but Carnival had a new lead designer especially for the final two in this class - and it shows. From Carnival Dream on the interiors start taking on more modern looks, though for Dream less than the other two (I suspect the original designer had already done a lot of work so rather than delay the ship they kept some of it) - Dream and Magic cabins look the same as Conquest's, but Breeze's do not. If you prefer more modern looks I'd say you're safe to sail any Carnival ship from the Breeze onward. So that's Breeze, Vista, Horizon, Panorama, Mardi Gras, Celebration, Jubilee, and the remodeled Destiny class ships now called Sunshine class (Sunshine, Sunrise and Radiance). These all leave behind those old cabins and the public spaces aren't 80s-90s Vegas casino-inspired.

I was on the Liberty back at the end of October, for Halloween......I'm with you, the ENTIRE hallway leading to my room on deck 2 smelled horrible.....the best description of that smell would be a septic tank in someone's back yard.....NOT a porta Jon lol Our last day was supposed to be spent in Bimini but we were in a bad storm and unable to dock.....so our last day was spent tossing and turning on the waves getting seasick.....the internet was an absolute rio off........and I'll give everyone here a tip as far as alcoholic beverages......if you wanna drink and don't wanna purchase that ridiculous alcohol package you can purchase bottles of wine from the bars starting at $30. I picked up a bottle for 30 at the sports bar on deck 5

I know you all like the cruises, but for me I enjoy you on land. It's the same places - sorry enough of cruising for a while - sorry

Looks like you just grabbed a Guys burger and didn’t get any extras...there’s onion rings (you have to ask as they’re kept in a crisper), sauté mushrooms & onions, peppers, crispy onions, pickles, and multiple condiments at a bar . Plus, always ask for an extra patty! 👍🏼💯😎
