Hello ma'am, I'm appearing for CAT this year and there will be a 2-year gap after my graduation. does it affect getting a call from any IIMs and what should I do to avoid the hurdle????? please reply ma'am, I'm really stressed about this.

Hello Ayushi. First of all, these gap years do affect getting calls to a not a very large extent but still it carries some weightage. The only way to avoid the hurdles would be to do really well in CAT. Also, you can really prepare a good explanation of those gap years for an interview. One advice I would give you, don't take much tension. Because these are the common problems among aspirants. Every 3rd or 4th aspirant is having some or the other issue with their profile. No one here has the perfect profile. So don't focus much here instead prepare well for your D-Day

Hi Shreya I didn't appear for MMAT. But I have few friends who have appeared for MMAT According to them, you should appear for the first exam cycle of NMAT. If it all it goes well, good enough and if unfortunately something goes wrong, then you have good number of days left to make a comeback in CAT exam. And, I too agree with this theory. Regarding giving exams from home or centre. So firstly if you have given ample mocks for NMAT and you feel comfortable at home taking the main exam, then you should go ahead with taking the exam at home or else you can take the exam from the centre. But then, keep in mind the fact that, if you take the exam from the centre, then you have the proper desk and internet connection and all of that which you may find difficulty at while giving the exam at home. So I think I have given you a fair idea and I believe now you will be able to make a decision.
