Shannon is the best thing to happen to ESPN since Stephen A!!!😮Hilarious, passion for sports,as well as knowledge. He definitely brings a “presence”.A presence that was truly needed!👏🏻👏🏻🙏🏻
Why is nobody talking about the abysmal offensive line play by the Jets? Mekhi Becton, Connor McGovern and Duane Brown graded at the literal dead BOTTOM of offensive-linemen rankings in week 2. Even Rodgers can't do much with that line.
People will constantly blame Wilson when the Jets O-Line didn't protect Rodgers for a single full drive. Skill players can't do their thing if they're losing up front every single play
Rodgers got hit every play until his leg gave out and people are like well why can't Wilson do anything. It's not like Rodgers was marching down field before he got hurt
But Zach sucked last year too. Jets can fix their o-line, play better on D and run the football more, but they still will not be able to get to the postseason, let alone win anything without another QB. That's Shannon's point.
Aaron blowing his Achilles was his own fault. The play design was for a quick 3 step drop and hit whoever his number 1 read was and if that receiver wasn’t open, throw the ball away. He held on to the ball too long…and that’s what caused the injury on that play.
@@og_wanThat part. Shannon explained that already and these people still blaming the O line who did their job including the guy that people blame thinking he missed his block after Shannon already explained the guy did his job. Aaron didn't do his and got hurt
Yes Wilson still hasnt looked all that good but even if Rodger was QB I doubt he would’ve performed much better. That OL is badddd. If it wasnt the first game he wouldve gotten hurt vs Dallas. And if he didnt get hurt vs Dallas he would’ve gotten hurt week 3. That OL is something else man
Exactly. Just cause ESPN guys where projecting a super bowl doesn't mean everyone was. Aaron Rodgers has had a offensive weapons and a top 10 defense and STILL couldn't get to the super bowl then. The Jets O line is trash Aaron wouldn't have that much success against Dallas either.
I can argue it could've been worse. Zach is pretty fast for a QB. Aaron Rodgers is so afraid to throw a pick that he will hold on to the ball in his old age which is what happened on the play he got hurt. The one touchdown the jets got was off a missed tackle, maybe if it was Aaron there's one touchdown off a solid throw but Aaron would've been running for his life in slow motion.
Shannon went in on this. He said that Zach Wilson "can't play dead in a horror movie", then followed that up with saying that "he's like a blind dog in a meat house." Savage 😂😂😂😂
His drive to end the first half was great. Was a finger tip away from throwing a touchdown to Garrett Wilson. But they do need to run the ball more and allow things to open up for him. He doesn't have to be great, just has to figure out how to make the simple plays from the pocket.
The problem is their offense philosophy. With a Sanchez like QB and porous pass protection the solution is Ground and pound, screens to playmakers + play action and deep ball.
This is why guys like Gardner Minshew and Taylor Heinicke are so valuable to teams. Not elite starters but great backups who are capable of being game managers. But they’re somehow continuously disrespected by the media
Zach looked really good in the first half against a top tier defense. Was catering to his strengths. But when he’s constantly pressured like he was, and down by two touchdowns, he’s going to try to make plays. The jets defense did not play up to their potential. Let’s not forget how Sauce Gardner dropped a pick six that would have put the Jets up 14-10 in the first half. The front office is too afraid of calling certain plays for Zach and it shows when they come out at the beginning of the second half, run a play action on 1st and 10 then ends in a incomplete. Then on 2nd and 10 hand it off from under center against the best D Line in football? Just terrible terrible play calling that I as a die hard Jets fan have been witnessing for years. The Jets should have been in gun with Breece and dalvin on the left and right of Zach the entire game. Zach Wilson is not awful but can definitely be serviceable as a QB to the Jets if they use him properly.
Unpopular take: Zach didn’t play that bad. Any quarterback they get is going to be running for his life. We can’t blame our fumbles, bad play calls, no run game, dropped picks on Zach. Stop it
He’s the number 2 pick….Teams are going to blitz the mess out of him. When you watch the games he makes simple mistakes that nfl qbs shouldn’t be making. The goal is the Super Bowl that’s what they got rodgers for. This team outside of Wilson and that o line is ready for a playoff run. All of these 2-3 year players are already ready for that run and there’s no way he’s catching up to them. You not beating the dolphins if you’re not able to score band for band with them. Your defense can only do so much against that offense. You not beating mahomes and the Chiefs if you can’t score band for band. Baltimore is only gonna get better with that really good offense. Bengals started off slow but they can put up those huge points. The colts are on the come up and the jaguars are no sleepers. You can’t beat these teams especially in the playoffs if you’re not able to push the ball down the field for more than one quarter. The nfc has the 49ers, Dallas, eagles….Zach Wilson is playing catch up to not only the other teams. But the players on his own team even players who were drafted after you. You are the most important position on this team there’s no excuse for a number 2 pick to have to be babied the way ppl are trying to baby him.
I miss Shannon giving lines in his replies to Skip - Skip's natural deadpan made the jokes pop vs. Ryan and Stephen A. getting the joke and stepping on it 30 seconds after the fact.
I don’t mind the laughter from SAS and Ryan Clark but I do get what you’re saying about Skip though. His lack of reaction made it even more funny for some reason lol
@@thatboylije7892Thatsvtrue Skio held in so many of them. And some of them he just bested out laughing. They had a good chemistry with those one liners😂
I said the same as Ryan, you kinda have to give Zack Wilson a chance here. He's not good, but he's a 2nd overall pick, you got a decent offense for him to work with now.
@@wayneblack4085he can't, but they can't trade for a QB. They'd have to sign a free agent who isn't on a team for a reason. It's a tough situation for the Jets
Stephen A didn’t like that analogy that Ryan said about Shannon bein there on mon/tues. You can tell it bothered him and hates havin someone outshine him. When people keep commenting how great Shannon is, SA will eventually resent him because he likes bein the best and he isn’t when Shannon is on.
No, QB with no OFFENSIVE LINE, what good that for. Sustain the current status, play for the schedule, let the chip gal where it will then start again but build Off Line. The FANS and Owner has to know this.
All the bad talk on Zach but how is he gonna win against one of the best teams in the league with a savage defense with NO OFFENSIVE LINE ????? The coaching was bad yesterday but. Let’s blame Zach who has CLEARLY showed signs of improvement.
Ok, Shannon. Who do the Jets bring in to save the season? It's easy to dump on Wilson, but it's obvious the organization hasn't bothered to develop him properly. Of course, he's going to fail most games. He's being asked to be a good QB without the luxury of being taught how to be one.
Who else can the jets going to get at this point good qbs don't just fall out the sky allen shannon forgot to add allen has the most tds the last 6 season but don't fit the narrative
The problem is that there was no plan B… u got a 39 year old QB with a broken O line and y’all didn’t think like hey maybe we should get a decent backup just in case Rodgers goes down.. now Hackett is scrambling because he only has one game plan that was catered to Rodgers
They don’t wanna concede defeat with the Zac Wilson pick even though they need to. I don’t care if the dude hangs out with Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers 24/7 he just doesn’t have it
I've been against the Jets ever since they prevented themselves from drafting Trevor Lawrence, and they were my childhood team. Saw this coming and hope anyone who played a role in drafting Wilson gets fired and blacklisted
2:13. Look at these two INTs by Wilson. One is to a defender, starting 15 yards in front of him, staring deep into his eyes. You can't make that throw. And the long pass you either look off the safety, or throw it early enough to where he can't get over. These are basic tenets of being a QB that Wilson cannot handle, proving he is not a starter in the NFL
