Bro. This is funny. I have spent hundreds on chess opening videos, etc. But there gathering dust cause I am having too much fun following you! Especially as your last with Von P. Gambit can even be played at tournament level. Your a great teacher- Thank you.
Very impressive ! But as an old BDG devotee, i'm curious to see what is your idea in the Von Popiel against Gunderam/Ziegler black setup : 1.d4 d5 2.e4 dxe4 3.Nc3 Nf6 4.Bg5 c6!? because after 5.f3 exf3, we have transposed into one of the most difficult nut to crack ... Don't you think so ? Many thanks for your love of romantic chess !!
Very good point, and I think you may have found black's best try against the VPG! 4... c6 has been played less than 2% of the time ( 2497/133853 ). Allow me to recommend: 1. d4 d5 2. e4 dxe4 3. Nc3 Nf6 4. Bg5 c6 5. Nge2 Bf5 6. Ng3 Bg6 7. h4 h6 8. h5!? Bh7 (8... hxg5 9. hxg6 Rxh1 10. Nxh1) 9. Bxf6 exf6 10. Qg4!? Just added it to here: lichess.org/study/FvLbSBZn If not 5... Bf5, I don't think white should have much trouble just going Ng3 and recapturing on e4. Otherwise, I think this line allows white to have a lot of fun for their pawn!! Let me know your thoughts though, especially as a longtime BDG-er :) -William
@@GambitMan try taking a slurp of beverage. Works for Dan King. Otherwise I like what you're doing, though you needn't limit yourself to gambits. I like the thoroughness of your analyses. I'd happily watch you break down some action from the big boys in major tourns. Other youtubers do that but they seem to always pick the same game, leaving other interesting games of the day uncovered. You do that I promise will watch them all. But you do you man. Keep up the good work. You have a future at this.
hi! i have done some research and here is my recommendation: 1. d4 d5 2. e4 dxe4 3. Nc3 e5 4. Nxe4! exd4 5. Nf3 Nc6 (5... c5 is a major mistake, as after 6. Bc4 black is already essentially lost with white either bringing a knight to g5 or simply castling and Re1 with Nxc5/Ng5 coming) 6. Bd3!? (6. Bb5 allows white to get the pawn back with a very comfortable game, but this is more in the gambitting style!!) white plays qe2 next (and castles), and it is very very difficult for black to finish their development; white has a lot of fun here if black opts for 4... Qxd4 then white simply again plays Bd3, with Nf3 Qe2 o-o coming and a very pleasant game for white with excellent compensation for the pawn! Hope this helps! :) -William
Thank you for your very complete answer. But what do you think of the sequel I'm playing: 1.d4 d5; 2.e4 d*e4; 3 Nc3 e5!! ; Qh5!? with an easy and aggressive game. Thank you for your advice.
@@GambitMan I would be dead if you made a video on this theme . It is a recommendation of a good player (2330 elos) of my club that showed me this line that is piecemeal for blacks.
