i used the rubber band on stripped screws before and it has worked for me. i feel unscrewing is going to be a lot easier that screwing in.

The problem with "Life Hacks" is that nobody is going "I have this problem, how do I solve it?" and instead it's all about "What kind of problem can I find a solution for?" so almost all of them are solutions for a problem you'll never have, assuming they even work all that well in the first place.

1:26 Tyler, I watched this video when it was new, and then promptly forgot about it. Today, I found out that one of my security cameras is FULL OF WATER! It has gaskets and seals but one of them is obviously not doing it's job, at all . . . . I was heat-shrinking the power cord for it just to make it a little beefier and remembered this 'hack.' I cut a 'tube' out of a tall narrow "Sparkling Ice" (flavored soda) bottle, slid it over the camera, heated it with my heat gun and then trimmed it with scissors. I have no idea if it's going to work in the long run but I can tell you now that the camera is certainly rain proof!! it has it's own transparent armor now! I will be doing the same on my other cameras one at a time after taking them each apart and cleaning them!! Thank you, Tyler!

For the lock popping hack, you can do it a lot more effectively if you turn one wrench vertically. Instead of working against the reinforced lock housing, you instead either damage the internals or the shackle itself. LPL did a video on this before.

Life hack: if you get a dent in thw wood. Use steam on the dent and it will be very close to being new again

The idea with the hot glue and matches is that hot glue solidifies faster than super glue. You don't have to worry about the glue drying out either as hot glue can just be reheated. The fact it can be reheated also makes it a nice reusable binding agent. A better alternative to this idea is just carrying a hot glue stick and a some form of fire starter. Pretty easy to heat up hot glue over a small flame or campfire.

the sharpie would be a good emergency fire starter, especially if u can blow it out and light it on fire several times, my guess is, that was the point of it

The hot glue match thing might be something you put in a bug-out bag for end-of-the-world type scenarios.

the rubber band trick works sometimes. especially for smaller screws. used to use that trick a lot for damaged screws while working on cell phones in the past

The last hack with hot glue.. just bring the hot glue sticks.. and melt it as needed..

I have used the rubber band on screw before. Very mixed results with it. However if you have a slightly stripped 5/16th hex head wood screw into wood it does help a lot. I have used that many times over the years at my previous employment. People didn't know how to properly drive in a screw.

Hot glue sticks and matches or a lighter can come in handy under certain circumstances where electricity isn't available. Fishermans glue is pretty cool too which is essentially just a version of hot glue that can be melted with a flame and applied.

For the wrenches, I've used a piece of galvanized pipe as a poor man's breaker bar. Janky but gives that extra leverage to free a rusty bolt.

The rubber band trick works beautifully on screws that are driven in. When you are trying to screw it in, there is too much resistance from the material itself as well as friction.

God, watching him trying to break that last lock so close to his face made me so nervous lol

I have the first two master locks you showed . those are the cheapest pad lock master lock makes . I don't know what material they are made of but you can tell they are fragile just by holding it in your hand weighs nothing easy to break but it is a lock people buy. you can pick or rake them faster than breaking it . master locks are notorious for very easily picked .

Honestly tho on the bad locks for the ones I tried it with picking the lock is sooo much easier and could be even faster.

I had a padlock that I forgot the combo to. It was extra heavy duty. Snapped so easy I couldn't believe it. You can also put a third wrench vertically and it pops it upward. There is a specific technique to it

For the stripped screw cut a line with a grinder and use a flat head screwdriver

Emergency candle.. crayons are the answer! Hot glue on hammer probly for waffle faced hammers "non marring ", hot glue on match probly for water proofing in camping situations not to hot glue things.. rubber band 4 crayons together you get like an hour of sustainable light in a pinch.. you can also use that to drip on matches to waterproof them until use, just scratch with your nail b4 striking so you dont clog your striking surface with wax.. great vid man.. try the crayons its pretty sweet...

The sharpie candle works because the ink in sharpies are alcohol based that’s why rubbing alcohol removes it

Use a different screw, like a sheet metal screw. 15:30 It's easier to remove a wood screw than it is to drive it. Removing the screw, it is following a pre-made path. Driving it, it has to create it''s own path by pushing the fibers out of teh way. 21:50 Maybe you're at home, and your power is off, but you have some hot glue sticks on hand, and matches. (Although in that case, you still wouldnlt put the glue on the matches first) *EDIT:* Or, you're camping/backpacking. You're already carrying matches, but don't want to carry extra weight/bulk. So you load a few of the matches with hot glue. You can still use the glue matches as regular matches, but have the additional benefit of glue matches. (NOT something I'd do.)

Just for letting people know, I debated for a very long time about the ridge wallet, literally SPECIFICALLY about price. Then I broke down and got one, and its been one of the best investments regarding everyday carry Ive ever spent. Extremely minimal and nice. Also just realized this sounds like a bot typed this lol, but hopefully I can help some people justify the price. Lifetime warranty is a great thing too

Zinc and aluminium body locks are super easy to defeat like that. The metal is really brittle.

You can slip a pipe over the back of the wrenches to extend them to get more leverage.

What screwdriver and bits are you using? Putting that in my toolbox for sure.

If you ever are trying to break open a lock and it is strong just slide a medium sized piece of pvc on the wrench handles to make them longer.

I got a leverage hack you could’ve used for the lock. Take a deep well socket big enough to go over the end of the wrench and however long of extension you need on the socket.

The hot glue matchs are more of a survival kit accessory

LPL has a video about the lock bypass n how to do it correctly. Tyler ALMOST had it at the end but not quite

The hot glue matches might be good to take camping, or putting into an emergency kit, so you would have water proof matches that would light in damp conditions, and also have the glue for fixes out in the field...........

The hot glue might make a bit more sense if you use the smaller diameter craft hot glue and then maybe cut them down shorter and poke a hole in the center to slide the match in.

You can however start a nail, and then use a block of wood between the nail and hammer to avoid dings in wood that will show in the finished product...Or you can alternatively use the proper tool for the job or learn how to do finish work to solve the problem

To my knowledge, burning a crayon will last for like 15 minutes as a emergency candle

A crayon works great as a candle. Cut the tip off even with the paper and fire it up!

I stripped out a screw that I couldn't get out with the drill but it came out easily with the manual screwdriver.

If I were to do the hot glue on the match thing I would probably try to make a little match caddy out of a small block of wood by using a drillbit the same diameter as the match so that after drilling the desired amount of holes the matches would then fit securely into the Block. Then I could glue them all at the same time with ease.
