Helpful hint for you saltwater guys, use triple guard grease on the steering nozzle bolt and the IBR arm bolt. It is a much better choice than locktite in the salt. The 3rd Gen IBR came out in 2021, and greatly reduced the problems with the IBR units themselves. It's always great with electrical issues to have another part to use as a diagnostic tool. As always, another great video from Calas.

I had the same issue with mine, opened up the IBR and tested the actuator with 12V supply, the actuator was indeed dead, ordered one from amazon (30$) replaced and been running it for the past 2 years, havent had an issues with it so far. I know your not a fan of none OEM parts but its an easy and fast fix that costs a fraction of a new IBR.

Hey man PWC tech in south Florida the IBR arm/rod will unscrew from the IBR u can unscrew that entire assembly with the arm and the bellow and save some time just unscrewing that rod with the bellow and arm and nut all together never had a issue with doing that so far when your reinstalling the rod i screw it all the way in with the arm connected then back it out till it lines up auto calibrate and its good to go. just a heads up man! love the content!

I too have intermittent IBR error on my 2015 GTI155. After ski sits overnight it works fine but then starts beeping and throwing lots of errors after 2-3 min. Calas does that sound like bad IBR or harness issue?

@@chrisgilfond4485 the plug for my Ibr had moisture in it and was corroded. I think because it’s right next to the exhaust the heat caused it to short once it warmed up.

If you need heat but no open flame use a induction nut heater it is saver

Great video I never undo the bolt on the Ibr bolt just unscrew the whole arm and actuator out of the IBR no and screw back in when IBR is back in ski ???
