In my experience, the moment you create a kingdom everybody and their vassal declares war on you, no matter how weak or powerful you are. You might as well level up smithing early so you can start amassing millions of denars, that way you can afford to pay tribute to all but the one kingdom you plan on smashing first.
Most people don't know this. It's because you declare yourself a kingdom. I took 2 towns and 5 castles before I declared my kingdom. If you have goods relations with every clan then they won't declare war on you since you are but a clan. When you declare a kingdom its when they declare war on you; Even if you are the only clan in the kingdom. Because it comes up to vote the clans won't vote to declare war on a single clan since that's direct relation decrease. But when you are a kingdom; The relation stays the same. I just found this out on my latest playthrough. I took maraunth and seonon since they both have four villages, also are right next to eachother and made peace and no other kingdom declared war on me till 5 years later when I declared my kingdom.
I took 2 towns 2 castles from rebels, farmed influence and got in good relations with alot of lords and when I declared my kingdom nobody declared war on me but the minute you piss someone off is when they do so if your relation is (-) then you're fucked.. I made companions as lords and hired powerful lords to join me, to stop nobles from leaving you all you have to do is give them 100k and they're happy and won't leave - shocker I know honestly don't need to give them fiefs if you really want too just cash, I tested it. But think about it you can't just declare a kingdom without money or power not only does that make no sense but quite moronic. It's a political game the game is a strategy and talks about preparation alot so next time you start your own kingdom do what it always tells you too and PREPARE ffs
@@ghh2727 yes you can. You need to go to faction leader and barter with them. If your army is too weak the option doesn't appear, but if you outmatch their army barter
Yeah the conspiracy quests were PAINFUL, I gave up and ignored it since I was just one town away but then WHAM three front war on an already overextended front with all of the other armies pissing about taking a castle somewhere else as I have to slaughter tens of thousands of units over and over again only to get 5 bits of progress and lose 20 because they captured a couple castles. It must’ve been years since I’ve last not been on the frontline taking down infinitely spawning khuzait hordes and sarranid besiegers. I swear I’ll capture 30 lords only to have yet more armies pop up out of nowhere and take castles on one end of the empire distracting me long enough to take another. It doesn’t help that there’s a cap on prisons and all of your allies will dump trash units instead of lords and you cannot put them anywhere close to the frontlines. I’ve considered mass execution but I think at that point it’ll be a joker moment where I turn around and then execute every single lord in my own faction for not being able to fucking do anything like STOP SIEGING SOME RANDOM BATTANIAN CASTLE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD HELP ME
What that's still a thing that's dumb if a kingdom broke it shouldn't be able too get more armies it should break down into rebel states but nope they just activate cheat engine
I got pissed off as Battania when I single-handedly captured all 3 imperial emperors and their top retainers, and the ENTIRETY of the Assyria nobleman, and was lugging them around defending 4 fronts, and then Sturgia and Vlandia declared war and proceed, with a combined force of 8000, proceeded to annihilate my battanian forces that numbered in the low 20 thousands. I had literally 2.2x the numerical advantage in AI units, and my AI could not win a single fight against the two smallest kingdoms whose territories were relegated to 1-2 towns and half a dozen castles in total. Meanwhile I single-handedly defeated the 4 strongest simultaneously, whose territory amounted to approximately 50% of the map. I got so mad, I decided to besiege the last Vlandian town while the homie Ergeon (only useful army AI leader) besieged the last town. At the enemy gates, I had all 4 emperors in my possession executed, alongside the remaining nobles who hadn’t managed to escape. In total,I beheaded 43 nobles in one afternoon. The notifications of loss of reputation continued to ping over 100 days of game time later. It guaranteed total war with the world, without surrender. I quit the game after that.
@@Spyash2 Be a good idea but you will be super OP at start of the game. It should be depending on your characters level when u get it. The higher the level the more stronger it obvs needs to have a cap on stats
@@Spyash2 True but i think the devs wanna make it a challenge as the game is a fun game. When you got stuff to do only thing i care really about is consoles getting new content. PC have mods so they have content
Better collect your data soon became TaleWorlds plans on diving deep into the voice acting, giving unique accents for each faction, unique trait influenced accents, etc etc etc
Funny thing, I accidentally gave the banner to Northern Empire as a vassal, then left them. The quest stayed locked on them and I never had to deal with them again.
My experience seems different. I got a quest to unite the empire after assembling the banner requiring i get 13 settlements, so i completed that and then the conspiracy quest auto failed and 3 kingdoms declared war with me but you can't make peace with them!? You have to win enough of their territory to force them to ask for peace. You also can't recruit their lords whilst they refuse peace so it's super tough to grow any more.
Yup. For whatever reason the devs thought it would be a great idea to be forced to fight 3 factions who are at full strength at once. U have to take about 5-6 fiefs from each faction & hold your own to be able to force them into peace. That's at least 15 fiefs total. Pretty stupid..I'm done with that part & I reunited the entire empire but the game has gotten only harder as I have been at war with 3 to 4 factions since reuniting the empire. I have not declared war on anyone not 1 time in this game & I have never had a period of peace. This game is wildly different from warband in that regard. I can't do outside quests, recruit new lords, etc bcuz I'm always at war with the entire calradia
I'm in the exact same boat. I had to scum save to blitz Khuzait out of action. It got easier after that and now I'm doing it the old fashioned way against Aserai.
@Sgt Nitro The Khuzaits declared war on me 4 additional times since reuniting the empire. After the 3rd time I decided I'd finish them off. The Aseri & the Sturgians declared war on me shortly after. The AI was surprisingly holding their own defensively against the Sturgians but the Aseri was quickly wiping out any progress I made in their territory by taking every fief that I took from them back. For whatever reason, the AI was creating armies & going on the offensive in Sturgia, despite my strategy being defensive against them & offensive against the Khuzaits. I literally had to disband several armies & make them join my party. Once they all did I released them then they created armies & started seiging Khuzaits turf which is precisely what I wanted from the beginning. By the time I got to the last 2 fiefs, the Aseri had taken back all but 1 fief that I held from them & they were still at full strength. I finished the Khuzaits off just before the Aseri besieged a imperial town on the border. I was able to get over there & defeat them in time. Long story short, many game months have passed & the Khuzaits have been without any fiefs but they're somehow still around with 2k men. I have 0 control over who I declared war on bcuz I don't have enough influence to overrule 22 lords who for whatever crazy reason, would want to go to war with another faction despite already being at war with 2 other factions & being at war for like 2 game yrs. To make things worst, somehow, the Khuzaits declared war on me & AUTOMATICALLY took control of a castle DEEP in imperial territory. First thing I thought was, maybe someone defected to them but every lord has more than 1 fiefs so I would've lost more than 1. Now they have 4200 men, high tiered troops & armies deep in my territory seemingly out of the blue when this faction should've been gone awhile ago. Then the Aseri declared war on me again. So here I am again at war with 4 factions lmao. I stopped playing after that. This game was created without any logic whatsoever
I'm in the same situation too, this part of the game is really hard and after I managed to defeat one of the 3 empire, the remaining settlement got annexed by one of the 2 others empire, they had like 25~ faction but dropped to 15~ rn but since they had so much faction, they could make a lot of big armies with 1k mens each and even if I would tried to destroy them, enough of other imprisoned leader would break free, and PS you could have recruited factions member of the empire but only if they had no settlement and had a neutral opinion with their emperor. Rn I think I'm on something and might be able to push the empire way back to Vlandia but I'm kinda scared of Vlandia since they are pretty much as strong as me (12000 pwr) and empire got 8000+7000 pwr too. I might have some issues to push them back because Azeri just declared war to me and they got 9k pwr and I can't just hold a 3 front war from the north the West and the south. I can't just control my kingdom and decide to just declare peace when I have to spend 2400 influence to force it and I kinda feel I'm in a loop like the other guy, when I conquer a settlement I can't rest and they already took it back, my mens don't want to defend it... Well
Damn I run straight into that "quest" trap. Honestly the worst ques design I´ve ever seen myself in a game. If I had known that Vlandia just steamrolls literally *everything* I´d have given the damn banner to them. xD
I chose Vlandia and I’m running into the same issue. We have a large portion of the map, and the sturgians and northern empire have all but disappeared. But now I’m in a constant state of war and it’s impossible to progress. I wish I would have waited til I was tier 5 with a few million coin before I really jumped in. May have to restart now.
At this point in the game, only one kingdom went to war against me, and that was the kingdom I was a vassal to. When I declared that my clan was it's own kingdom, nobody cared. All the other kingdoms were busy warring against each other. Even after that, only one kingdom at a time as ever declared war on me. Maybe I've just been lucky. As a vessel, they voted me 5 towns and 10 castles before I left and took it all with me. Also, I was releasing nobles after battle to gain favor.
Wait so you just made a 26 minute video explaining "What to do BEFORE the conspiracy" and answered it with : prepare, watch another video well played, nice troll
I just conquered couple castles and towns with small security after that i created the kindom and gave my companions fiefs to built a small army from there went on finding more companions so i can make them lords
Wow! it all makes so much sense now .... my first time playing and I gave the banner to battania , became a vassal, had 3 smaller fiefs under my control... life was good ... UNTIL Vlanida, the southern empire, and the northern empire all declared war on battania at the same time and eventually widdled us down to nothing. Started a new save file and plan to hang onto my banner this time lol
I got a question do you hold down the right Mouse button while running with your bow drawn you can aim faster and shoot accurately just before the reticule finalizes as well as move faster it seems like
Am I the first person to break this game? I got my main character executed and it was passed to his Heir. Now I can't access any of the features on the bottom left. I had played the game for a bit with the Heir and then it reset to report error and it started me back over to the Heir. I'm on PS5. And I got my character executed because I refused to pay the ransom and kept escaping.
Man I remember the first time I made captured a castle and done this quest, just to have the whole world declare war on my naive ass in 10 mins. Needless to say, a new game quickly followed xD
Soooo I happened to have the hideouts revealed but haven't gotten the pieces yet. I joined Vlandain due to location and recently Derthert died somehow (missed it) and I was voted the leader......what the hell do i do now? Give it to myself? Lol
I hate these click bait videos. You spent 25 minutes on a walkthrough through the mission, and then you spoke about implications for 1,5 minutes, practically at the end.
Regarding Workshops, I bought my first one, a brewery in Phycaon(?), which is surrounded by grain villages and had plenty of grain in the city, but it's making zero cash. Is this bugged? What's up with workshops as at the moment I've just sunk 20k into something that just costs me money.
If there are breweries in the area selling cheaper beer, yours won’t sell. Two options, micro manage yours, buy grain cheap, sell it to the town your brewer is in and buy some beer, initially at a loss but you can sell it for profit. Or buy the competition, change it to a tannery or something useful or just change it and sell it, eventually you’ll make a profit. Best bet buy one free from competition in the first place, good luck fellow brewer.
Yeah workshops suck right now, even when you pick the best spot for one and you have a monopoly on what's being produced, they don't seem to make much money. On top of that, they can be destroyed if the settlement is captured by a hostile faction. I just use Caravans first. They make tonnes of money consistently
@@TheBeaconsAreLit98 I have workshops but I just don't care anymore if they make money they do if not ok they nerfed them way too much now they useless and then caravans they good but also so random sometimes they make so much but most of the time they make as much as workshops imagine that everything but smithing got nerfed smithing can still make u millions whit just sitting in a settlement that's just boring they should just up the profits of caravans and workshops by 50%
@@walterlaten7662 Yeah I agree with you dude, I honestly find the best way to make money right now is to get your smithing up and just forge high quality 2 Handed Swords. They can sell for like 50k a piece.
I just went back to Bannerlord, and we battanians are currently owning sturgia vlandia and one of the empires, the only thing that bothers me is the conspiracy quests are way spread around. Just get some decent relations before you start killing people around.
First time I did this quest I joined the aserai; then got fed up by the conspiracy quests; And later the AI's kingdom management/diplomacy. I rebelled & took a town and just then the conspiracy quest failure kicked in... All the empire factions started a war against the aserai. The aserai had to stop abusing me with the empire on their both fronts. All of the annoyances averted; suddenly had a rebel kingdom with noone at war with. This happened in beta, dunno if it still works.
Wait. At 25:19 you said "these quests are essential if you want to make it to the end of the game". There is an end to the game? I have taken over every settlement and castle and it makes no difference. There is no end to this game. If I am missing something, I sure would like to know what it is.
You can capture a city as independent, i.e. not a vassal nor mercenary. Assign a governor and talk to him, there will be the option to found a kingdom.
Can you help with a problem im ruler of the southern empire but cant give the dragon banner to myself without leaving and creating a new kindom is there something im missing
Diplomacy mod fixes so much of this. Makes the game way more fun by making polotics more real, sure you dont battle all the time like i actually like to, but i love the realism of as the new knigndom being disliked because of expanshinism and such
My game is Glinting i think i destroyed west and Norht now i must defeat southern they are very strong can you make video how you can when this im 100 -
😂😂 in the years playing this it still comes down to Execution Execution execution. Same thing in warband just to enjoy some piece. Even if you have really good relationships with a kingdom they still harass you
i sort of broke the main quest in one of my campaigns i had taken all the non empire factions as an factionless clan and then thought fuck it i want the empire as well and took all their lands as well the only faction left were the Valandians as they had been fighting the same groups i was so i sort of left them alone then i created my own kingdom from a town in sturgian lands and made it their culture and then raised the banner it pretty much made it impossible for the Conspiracy to happen as every main faction related to it was already mine valandia tried to fight me but within a yr they were crushed and well game over did the same thing with a few other mods like the eroupe map and a few added factions it adds and it still happened but by the time it was even a thing for those groups to even think about going to war with me i had every other city and castle on the map but their main 4 as i took the rest and made peace with them
@@Cowboys777 with mods that give you no limit to armies or party size and ones that let you adopt random kids and teens plus marrying the males off to the females of other clans gives you that female if that female is not the ruler using the right mod combo you can have upwards of 900+ party size and ensure no other kingdom can take back power as the entire families females can be married into your clan and given the other adoption mods your clan numbers are high enough to have entire doom stacks of other armies running around defending your kingdom also it helps to only fight one war at a time defeat the entire faction then and only then move on to another faction if another one does go to war with you have a mod that removes the time until you can demand peace and do so with ones you dont want to fight until later
When did they add voice acting? I bought it on Xbox and my people don’t talk. I didn’t think anything of it because the last time I played was when it first dropped early access
Not gonna lie the first twenty minutes of this video was redundant and could have been cut out. If you wanted to do a full dragon banner walk through, title it that. Not something you touch on for two minutes at the end.
You can equip it if you complete the quest, opting to form your own kingdom. It’s not worth it. I was hoping for imba stats, given that it’s a legendary banner and that you aren’t joining an established kingdom. I can’t remember the stat boost but it was really small. It sells for only 2 debar as well....quite surprising given its status and how the quest line starts with the intent to sell (part of) it.
Hey man, first, don't read this on hate voice, but on a complatin/suggestion. I know it is a old video and I get it, the title must be juicy, but come on, 2 minutes of the title content on a 26 min video is too much. DId I liked what you had to say? Yes. The narration and all was nice and funny? Yes, but it took too much to actually say something, if you don't have a lot to say just cut the video shorter, way shorter like 50/50 of filler and content, stretch it to the important 10 min if you must, but not further. It is hard to immediatly say to watch the new video after that 24 min drag. Cheers, best of luck sir.
Developers can't seem to muster enough intelligence to make a game accessible and action oriented. By allowing players to push their own faction from the get go, without restriction. Should have been easier to rule your own duchy few hours in.
The easiest way is to capture a rebel settlement when you are a mercenary but not working for anyone, that way you get to keep the settlement but you can't be a mercenary anymore, on the plus side because you aren't aligned with any kingdoms and haven't started one yourself then nobody will attack your settlement so you don't even need to garrison troops there till you become a vassal I like to do that then use the settlement income to fund my trades so I can get my trade skill to 300 and then buy and sell settlements to NPC's so I then barter 2 or 3 shitty settlements for one good one in the heartland of the kingdom I plan to join or start
yea, the best thing to do is just not complete the quest until you already have a powerful kingdom up and running, where you can take on the other factions even if they team up against you. Other than that just keep doing the anti-conspiracy quests to keep the progress bar down but that gets tedious fast. Not a great main quest if the best way to do it is to not do it heh.
Yes..take out conspiracy soldiers on the other side of map that's surrounded by enemy..you just know your gonna be watching yourself being carted about as a prisoner for a year (real time) 😴
You need to be careful doing this as if you loose track of the days you can bug your game out and the quest fails and then you cant complete the story / campaign as the empire will get stuck on one last army that never gives up or surrenders even if you kill the leader multiple times
What if you/I as the player completely ignore the main quest from the start & never build the banner? (Of course after doing the initial “build your clan” portion that is required.) Should be fine then right? I mean I would fail the main quest but otherwise the game would be unaffected.? (I basically only play campaign mode over sandbox for the extra siblings at the start, but I don’t care about the main quest whatsoever.) Or would it still bug my game somehow?
I don’t know if you covered this or not but; if you join an imperial faction with the dragon banner and support istinia, if you join another faction (I joined a different imperial faction so not sure if it works for all of them) and Arzagos gets enough conspiracy, they will declare war on the first imperial faction you joined, meaning the second one you joined will not be at war with everyone else
But once you give the Dragon Banner away you cannot get it back from that faction, so you would fail the main quest unless you rejoined the original faction, should that original faction get wiped out... But if you don't care about the main story you can apply the curse of the dragon banter as you see fit!
