Hello, friends ! Today we will examine one of the fundamental topics in painting. It concerns the mixing of colors, how to mix paints to get the desired color and tone. I often talk in videos about edge contrasts about tone and color, about the relationship of closeness and contrast.
First of all, take any one item and put it on a plain fabric so that nothing extra will fall into the field of view.
Outline the silhouette of the subject.
We mark where the glare will be, the own shadow and the falling one. We break the object on the plane with a flood. 3 stripes horizontally and 3-4 vertically. This is done in order to analyze how each of these facets is illuminated, what reflexes it takes on itself, how the fracture of the shape affects the color in this area, and stuff like that. Treat this work as an exercise, study it carefully and analyze it.
Our main task is to show the air in this small sketch through these very edge touches to the background. Often I start with the brightest spots that immediately caught my attention because the palette and water are still clean and you can easily mix a pure color.When I say pure color, I mean a mixture of 2-3 colors, and sometimes using a pure color without any mixing. In this case, the production is based on close relationships. Red on red. Looking for the difference. The fabric is colder, the tomato is warmer. Cold colors include kraplak, and warm cadmium red medium (PHOTO) in the illuminated part of the tomato, I mixed light cadmium red with orange to make the red even warmer. ☝️ We use the hint that we made with the planes. It can be seen that the upper part of the tomato is well lit, which means the lid will be the warmest and lightest. The middle part will be darker, and the bottom will be even darker.
