Simple mate, all you do is glaze the paint on where I use the airbrush. I've done a video on how to glaze correctly called "Thin your paint properly" that will show you how. All the airbrush does it make that quicker and easier to do
Really like how you broke it down (including mistakes) - how you got there, how you fixed them and what the thought process was there. Your finished model looks fantastic and the extra effort put into casting light on the rest of the model is a fantastic touch.
I love me some Dark Angels! Your how to paint Dark Angels video was how I found your channel (and thus, your Twitch) so it makes me very happy to keep getting videos that immensely help me with my army as much as that one did!
Liquitex inks are supposed to have a finer pigment grind than Daler Rowney's line. It helps with the tip dry. I have both brands and have noticed a pretty significant difference.
Amazing video mate! If at 1st you don't succeed, try try again. Always a great lesson to learn and something people need to remember and Learn. Thank you
It's actually crazy how I found the same Plasma glow I wanted to copy on instagram, went through his tutorial, and made exactly the same mistake of trying with white oil paint before I found this video. Haha! I will try again and stick to ink this time, and will probably make use of the IPA on q-tip trick. Thankyou!
I'd go through the same steps, even the gloss varnish - but only if I could apply that with a rattle can if I didnt have an airbrush - but with glazes. it'll take a lot longer for sure, and it's a lot of work to get ti smooth too but it's possible. The white preshade is still important as it'll help set up the red. If you try it let me know how you get on!
Everything is a learning process and we make the biggest improvements to our skills when we make a mistake! Got to be honest with all you guys when I mess up!
Less difficult and more time consuming. Though it's a lot more difficult than using an airbrush for it! I gave a quick guide on how to do it in another comment if you're interested!
Nice result! I've got a question about painting the gun parts. Yours is black, mine is Wolf Grey casing, gunmetal parts, gold Aquila. Edge highlights are done and rivets are dotted (It's a plasma cannon). Does this matter, and do I just follow the steps as normal? Cheers
you know it might sound weird... but i always get with a diluted white ink and when its in the recesses -> thumb wipe immediately and its fine :P you can pretty much get it off the coils instantly ;)
Secretly I do the same a lot of the time when painting any sort of recesses because it's quick as anything to do. But I didn't feel like a video with "paint like a pro" in the title would allow me to get away with that one 🤣🤣🤣
@@MohawkMiniatures gotta make a new one called "wipe like a pro" 🤣but yeah it's my favorite go to method also with other coils like admech packs and plasma
