Just that past 40 you can level mons to 50 without a problem and all the level-based unlocks (minus specific level rewards) are done. So only real bonus to xp past 40 is flexing level-ups. With mons, you can just them to 50 anyway.

Yeah, there are item rewards and challenges from level 40 - 50, but at 40 you can power up Pokémon to 50, making player-level increase optional.

but you cant trade over level 42
