This is great - you're such a good teacher. I'm in the 500 ELO range, and there aren't a lot of great teaching videos for that level.
@hearmeout1767
@hearmeout1767 6 месяцев назад
Because most people in that range probably don't try to watch chess RU-vid. Although I was trying to watch chess RU-vid when I was 600-700 and I barely understood it so you're right, it is pretty good to have videos to teach people in that range. I think I will send this video to my mother cuz she's been at 500 for almost a whole year.

Core Opening Principles: Emphasize controlling the center of the board, developing your pieces, and avoiding early queen moves. Focus on solid openings like 1. e4 or 1. d4 and avoid dubious tactics like bringing the queen out too early or pushing pawns unnecessarily . Piece Development and Trades: Develop your knights and bishops early, and only trade pieces when it’s strategically advantageous. Prioritize having your knights and other pieces control the center, and avoid creating weaknesses such as doubled pawns unless it gives you a tactical advantage . Position Evaluation: Constantly evaluate your position and your opponent's intentions. Look for tactics like discovered checks and pins, and avoid creating vulnerabilities like isolated pawns or exposing your king to threats . Planning and Safety: Develop a plan that improves your least active pieces and always ensure your king's safety by castling early. Don’t fall into traps or overextend your pieces without a solid plan to back them up . Winning Strategy: When ahead, simplify by trading pieces and focus on maintaining your advantage. Avoid risky plays and concentrate on solidifying your position to secure a win through material advantage or checkmate opportunities .

I appreciate that you didn't edit out the point where you accidentally hung your bishop. I have made the same sort of error many times (too many, actually). You were focused on one move, then made the bishop move quickly, without fully exploring it first. I learned that it always pays to take a step back, look at a move before you make it, and only then decide.

Ciao Alessia!
