On one level transition was extremely easy: there were literally hundreds of jobs waiting for aircraft mechanics. Some even tried to recruit me years before I retired. On another level I’ve never transformed: I’ve disliked civilians since I was a small child.
@santamanone, I like the way you put that about transition being easy on one level. I have to think about what that really means deep down because I feel like it gets at an important point I'm only beginning to understand.
