During the first two seasons I couldn’t hit masters. I just kept playing and playing, but I couldn’t get past legendary. It was really frustrating, because I believed I had the skill to reach masters. Then I decided to try something different. Instead of grinding for hours and hours, I would take a break whenever I lost enough times to make me frustrated and/or angry. Then I’d come back later and try again after I had cooled off. Worked like a charm and I’ve hit masters every season since. Anyway, great video! Thanks for bringing attention to this underrated strategy, more people should be talking about it.
Rewatching this video again, I noticed that I agree with almost everything you said. But there was one thing I wanted to mention that I think isn’t entirely true. I don’t think calling randoms bad means calling yourself bad in every circumstance. Equal rank does not always mean equal skill, especially in this game. Most of the blame for this lies with the elo floor at each rank. If a bad random gets carried by “leader randoms” to a higher rank than their skill level, let’s say legendary for example, then they will be stuck in that higher rank for the rest of the season when their actual skill level peaks at mythic. So you can still get bad randoms that have a lower skill level than you even if they share your rank. To be fair, this will happen less likely the higher within the rank you climb. So if you’re calling your randoms bad at legendary 3 as opposed to legendary 1, then yeah, they’re probably around your skill level and you’re also calling yourself bad.
It's true sometimes randoms like sell games on purpose for some reason this is who bad randoms are not the ones who try but no so good and i definitely never tried to lose the game intentionally so I'm not like them despite having the same rank
I agree with the first point, but randoms are so trash sometimes. In a brawl ball game (for example) I might go 7 2 and score. They will go 1 8 and be a farm for everyone else’s supers. I just can’t win a 1v3. I don’t really play brawl competitively any more, but I would definitely be in masters or have more r30s if I teamed up with good players and actually put in the time.
Feeling good is not always more skill and frustration not alwasy less. Yes, when you are frustrated it's generally less, but in my experience I have had many times where I am losing a match of Gem Grab or Brawl Ball, get mad because the countdown started or there are only 30 seconds left to score, and all of a sudden I get a teamwipe with the help of my teammates in like 15 seconds. If you get a little mad and frustrated it seems like the adrenaline actually increases your skill level if you can control it. This happens me a few times every week. About the bad randoms. It can pretty weel still be you lose because teammates. Yes they abviously have about the same avarage skill level as you, but we are all humans and we all sometimes just don't have our day, or don't have our match. Plus some people have less than 10 brawlers to choose from. If 2-3 of them are banned, and they have last pick so another 3 are already picked by the time they can choose, they have like 5 options. I have Rico and Dynamike, but when I played hot potato on the end of the last season they both got picked by the enemy before I could. I was forced to choose a power 9 barley, Brock or Charley, Nani, El primo, Bonnie or something else. Maybe that the Bonnie would've worked if the enemy didn't have Dynamike. So obviously I did awfull that game. And quick comment on familiarity with brawlers and suggesting. I also had a game at teh end of last season in pinball dreams (I think). I got suggested Primo, but went Bonnie instead. (They had Gale, Lou and Jessie, we already Jacky and Emz). Was a pretty convincing win, and I even suprised myself it worked so much better than EL Primo would've done.
Hi , i just wanted to say that ur tips really helped me. I watched a lot of videos similar to this but none of them really helped me. This is truly what i needed. Keep it up!
But my randoms genuinely dont deserve mystic rank like they prob got carried by their friends and now when they play solo on ranked and they dont have the skill to win cuz they pick bad and bad bans
