I have type 4 low porosity VERY thick hair. I use the extra butter as my leave in and the curly magic on top. It gives me the BEST wash & go. I usually then do a twist out after a couple of days and it comes out looking like a stretched wash & go. It's actually my favorite.
The curly magic stimulator is the truth. I especially love using it for my wash n go’s on soaking wet hair. I have type 4 hair and I find that my hair loves products with marshmallow root. 🤗
I'm 5 years late! I LOVE YOUR HONESTY! Almost every product flakes for me once my twists dry and Uncle Funky's Daughter doesn't flake for me so that's a MASSIVE win for me. I also like my twists to be soft to the touch. I'm still looking for a non-flake product with a better hold. HELP!
This is such a helpful review. I just need people to be HONEST. Can’t tell you how often I try natural brands and can barely tell a difference between their “4c” lines and other products, or even any difference on 4c hair between the different brands. That leave-in isn't meant to be a detangler. It really works well to define curls and condition them. It's a great match with the curl stimulator gel; an awesome combo.
I use the Curly Magic on my 4a/4b hair for wash and gos and it gives me so much definition, I just have to make sure to apply it to soaking wet hair on top of a light leave in, my curls and coils look juicy, no crunch, no flakes 💁🏽♀️
Your hair and makeup look beautiful. I've never tried anything from this brand. I am so burned on so many products not working on my 4c hair. I leave the trying up to you and NappyFu! If ya'll say it's mediocre, that's all I need to know. Push to 10K, girl!

i just used uncle funky’s products on my hair and they had my curls poppin and moisturized. i think that was the most poppin i ever seen my curls. i have type 4 hair as well, i like the curly magic gel it’s really good but its sticky.
The side with the Supercurl looks more defined & has less frizz. BOTH sides look really good. 🤩🤩🤩 You probably had residue from the leave-in. I have never used it as a leave-in. I have also never experienced residue when using the creams & gel combo. Still feeling your results. TFS
I've only used the gel from this brand. I have medium porosity, 4c hair. Its the only gel that gives me consistently successful Wash and go results, definition, volume, no crunch, no flakes, and great hold. I can make my Wash and go last up to 6 days because it stays moisturized and frizz free for so long with proper night care. When defining my kinks, I just use aloe juice to soak my hair and a single pump of the gel for each section after I rinse out a deep conditioner.
Overall your hair looks great! A few tips mayb specifically for your twist out: use super curl for moisture and butter for shine after your hair has dried. Use curl revitalizer after 1 day hair after using curl magic.

I have 4b hair and it LOVES the UFD Curly Magic. I use the Smooth n Shine Camellia and Shea Butter Moisturizing Conditioner as a Leave in, that same line's Curl Defining Gel, then the UFD Curly Magic. Using the Smooth n Shine Gel first helps the UFD not clash with the leave in and cause flakes since the Smooth n Shine Gel was made to work with the leave in. The SnS Gel works well on its own, BUT the UFD makes my curls pop a bit more and has more slip too
Hi, and thanks for sharing!! You mentioned a leave conditioner clashing with the products you're using. I've noticed that my hair has like sand-looking particles in my hair, especially at the roots and the ends when I bantu knot it. I think I MIGHT be using too much product...IDK. I just want my hair healthy with great definition and shine😫
@@setapartaay925 I had the same results. Did not apply on soaking wet hair. I used thirsty curls spray and curly magic looked great day 1, particles in hair next day.
@@chicabailey2634 hey sis. Since then, I’ve noted that the Eco style JBCO and my Cantu argon oil does not mix well, plus I was using too much. I got rid of the gel but still use my leave in. Many sisters don’t like it, but it’s the BEST leave in I’ve used to date, so I’m gonna keep using it 😀
@@setapartaay925 thanks chica for the update. I will watch hair milks (sm) for results. Ill do a test, use different things from 1 to 2(ufd products on clean hair) 4 different sections of hair . Luv this product, moisture, shine, softness, definition. Im still amazed ...😆.

I stopped working and was looking for cheaper products to wash and condition my hair. I was looking at Garnier Fruitis products, but she swore by it and now I do too!! The shampoo, conditioner, and deep conditioner is fire!!
I have tried so many other gels for a wash and go and have given up. I used the curly magic when I first chopped and stopped... I dont even know why! I was looking for cheaper options and years later I have come back to ufd. I will just stick to this line from now on. I got a devacut on my 4c hair and did a wash and go today with curly magic. Amazing definition and soft hold that lasts about 5 days worn down then about 4 days in a puff or re wet it and moisturize and keep it going. Love it.
Your hair looked great to me. Def more defined in front with the gel. Seemed a bit more frizz in back only. Love the gel because no glycerin. It’s bomb all year long for washngos. Thanks for your reviews and candor. Just found you and have been binge watching. Lol
That’s a good deal. I’m not surprised that you got those results. Your hair looks good but I wouldn’t rush to get these products. They are a bit pricey too.

This was very helpful. You said all the things that I was experiencing especially the tacky, sticky feeling. I used the products to do a wash and go-it was probably the best one I’ve ever achieved....kinda torn bcz of the price and stickiness.
I tried the Richie Rich conditioner from this line and I HATED it. It was the consistency of glue, it did not glide onto my hair, no slip, it STANK, and it didn't leave my hair moisturized.
Yeah, I checked the prices on these products via Amazon and... I pass. Yours is not the first review I've checked out for these on 4C hair. I haven't heard anyone raving about the products & at the most, just kind of "meh". I don't have a lot of money for "meh". LOL On the other hand, your hair is beautiful. I purchased this kiit a few weeks ago also. First I used the curl stimulator by itself and I did not like the gooey residue it left. After about 4 or 5 days I sat down and twist my hair with both the Extra Butter creme and Supercurl Miracle Moisture Creme together mixed together (with the curl stimulator product still in my hair). I love these two products from smell to feel. The butter is not like a regular butter, they're both creamy. It does moisturize the hair and after about 3 or 4 days I took my twists out to wash but i loved my curl definition so I'm still rocking it. I've sprayed the Midnite Train Leave in and it's okay. I like the fragrance but I'd prefer to use it without the curl stimulator in the pic. When I was it in a day or two I'm just going to use the cremes, and maybe the leave it... but probably not the latter... to see what results I get. I pray taht I love them together even more w/o the curl stimulator b/c I don't like that gooey residue.
Hey Lexi when you get a chance I’d love to see you try the Taliah Wajiid line the (curl line) especially the Curl Sealer from the line!! I love that thing I’m not a wash and go type of girl but when I had hair that thing was the bomb got a wash and go! If just live to see how it works for you!! I'm sorry UFD's CMS didn't work for you. I love this product. I have 4AB hair and it's been giving me well-defined, long-lasting wash-and-go for years! I do NOT used any of their products, though, as they are not natural enough for me... they tend to have synthetic perfume smell. Their gel is the only/most natural that fits me.

Your hair looks good. It's very define but not big. I find that the Supercurl was good but thought it would be more moisturizing. I want to try the Extra Butter. I didn't like the gel but I'm not a gel person anyways. Regarding the tackiness I think it's the gel.
I have a looser texture than you, and id have to say it gave my hair no hold either when used on braidout, and the glycerin in it made my hair poof the next day when I went to the gym. However, I love this for my wash n gos. Nonetheless, it is my fav gel but when I tried it for the braidout, I had to wonder if it was the same gel I was using.
I recently did a video on their products as well, maybe i should try the butter, but yes I honestly didn't get past a day with the curly magic and I have a looser curl pattern than you.
Iced tried this brand before, i thinknI got it in a curlbox...this line did nothing for our hair, it did me the same too with leaving a residue! Can't wait for the curls review I'm waiting on out before I buy. Hopefully you put out before their sale ends *hint hint* lol

KandidKinks I am on day 2 and I like it. I did not have any weird feeling with the gel and it smoothed my hair. The hold is mild to medium for me. I have low porosity fine hair. My holy trail moisturizer qhemet Burdick root cream. I also love soultanicals knot sauce as a leave in. I hope you try soultanicals because I want to try more from them.

Annnndddmy hair feels gummy if that makes sense. I prefer a creamy leave in as well. I did a wash and go and my hair felt sticky almost immediately. Won't be using it again.
KandidKinks Raleigh North Carolina. The target that I know of here is pretty far from where I'm located. The bus takes a long time to get me there at least anyway.
Can you do an experiment of just washing, deep condition and on soaking hair *use only the curl simulator.* Using a wide tooth comb or just finger detangle and that’s it…no twisting?
