Yes, I call this question the Knee vs JDCR philosophy. Knee's philosophy is that you should get Tekken God Prime with EVERYONE on the roster whereas JDCR says no if you play for fun.
@StepanCaveman

@@mogagary well, maybe Knee's philosophy is that every character is their own kind of fun. There's like only 4-5 characters in tekken I despise and would never want to play them. But others? languagelearner15 labbing is more like learning their frames n when to ss. U don’t necessarily learn how to use them yourself just how to counter their moves
@ianduude
@ianduude 4 года назад
languagelearner15 I can learn a lot from watching videos of content creators like Blasted Salami, Frame Whisperer, and JDCR, but the advice and info they provide (frame data, weaknesses of moves, etc.), can only help me so much if I never get to simulate certain situations were their advice would prove useful. I’m honestly not the greatest at adjusting mid game so I need to lab (hit up practice mode) against certain characters so that I can at the very at least become familiar with their movelists. For a character like Hworang- it can make a difference in knowing when you can duck or parry certain strings of his because you otherwise might be giving him free frames and damage.
@TheMamboza
@TheMamboza 4 года назад
It’s a great idea to understand all of the characters. Their strengths/weaknesses and their strategies with/against them. Learning to play characters from scratch is tough. But once you get the hang of them (ie combos and setups) it gets fun - and you get the feel of understanding why certain people play them. I’m striving to have fun playing all the characters and learning along the way. I never thought about this since like 2 years ago. But here I am, still having fun playing Tekken.

@Alojzist
@Alojzist 4 года назад
@@abhayhyanki6177 No I think the standard new player Bryan process is this: get to green ranks very easily with snake edge, then get stuck there. By that time you have some understanding at the game and you can either choose to perfect your Bryan (very hard), or pick another character or something of both. What I'm saying is that at the beginning Bryan is very very strong in quite easy way, so I think he shouldn't be demotivating to new guys. It gets very hard quickly, but by that time you like the game enough to deal with it.

I'm doing it but taking time with each character 1 by 1. If you do it the right way and not just take shortcuts like the way Mainman is doing it helps a lot. You can learn how the game is balanced if you actually check the punishments and the strings as well as the logic behind a character. You can also try to use things a character specializes in if you've neglected it like Lilli sidestep, Miguel/Zafina backdash or Master Raven wall carry and wall conversion.

Playing Gigas has been teaching me fundamentals in a weird way. Not that it is bad but as Tekken 7 being my first competitive game, Gigas can be a easy yet hard to master char when you start getting more in tune with the game. Simple combos and punishes, even teaches you to not randomly throw out moves with how he is as a character but maybe a secondary would help if you are trying to work on your kbd and movement in addition to punishes for 11-14f

JDCR says Bryan has no strong mixups even against noobs. He has a lot of faith that noobs can consistently react to snake-edge and are able to handle hatchet kick pressure. Yes those things won't help you to learn Bryan properly but Bryan does have stuff that can carry low level players through the ranks: Snake-edge (scrub killer tool & harder to react to online). Orbital heel. Mach kick. Tons of CH strings that can be abused against players that are not patient.
@DonMIFC
@DonMIFC 4 года назад
I think his version of noob is more different to ours. To us a noob bryan would be someone throwing out snake edges and flowcharts etc. To JDCR noobs are probably people who do know how to play the game and stuff, but just arent that good in the end. I dont think JDCR even considers those lowest levels of players when he talks about stuff like this. Maybe im wrong tho, as Im just inferring what he said. But if you think about it, a person with JDCR's caliber probably thinks a lot of the tekken players are noobs

Wall throw db3,2 launchpunishable sweep f,hold 4 then mash 2(launchpunishable knockdown low aka unblockable high) albatross mid or low (on wake-ups)
@FieryElmo
@FieryElmo 4 года назад
@@mshklh2099 The wall throw is breakable on reaction, the extended duck is 50 frames for the high and all the options can be sidewalked, the d/b 3, 2 can only really be used at the wall (has no range easily backdashed) similar to bryans taunt mixup at the wall on whether to block or interupt, he is probably referring to one of these 3 but I'd take taunt and QCB 3 of Bryan as better mixup moves than what Steve has

how does he do the spin in 3:50 I've been finding ways to ask this but I don't even know what move is that called
@StupidSexyCyborg
@StupidSexyCyborg 4 года назад
I forget what the move is called but the input is b,df4, a very slow startup low with heavy plus frames, and it can be cancelled with b, so he's just doing b,df~b

how many frames did you have to break a throw before Tekken 7? i had the same thoughts about Fakh's throw just being a normal pre-Tekken 7 throw.

Play at range 1 against Bryan and don't duck,let them use low attacks like hatchet kick and then start hitting them with quick mid strings.bryan can't deal with pressure right on his face.because his quick pokes have bad frames and are kind of slow.
