Really great analysis, looking forward to the follow up! Would also love to see a blog post about this showing more details on the environment and APs used in testing. I'm a little fuzzy on the details around 4 AP aggregate - 4 different APs and the results were an average of each client tested at the same distance from each AP? Were all APs Wi-Fi 6?
You can still get 3 and 4 SS PCIe cards for PC's / Macs, but they are more rare. 6 is good if you can keep 1024 QAM 2SS connected. Once you drop to 256 QAM, well might as well use a high end AC AP. Also none of this matters much for most people. You don't need 100 Mbps to stream video. People keep getting marketing hype telling them they need more then they really do. Yes i have Gigabit up and down, but who cares.
I assume this was done in a massive hall or something to achieve a 100m distance? Mostly free space path loss and no chance for signals attenuate or bounce off of obstacles? Still an interesting exercise. I wonder how older clients compared.
