That’s exactly what someone that’s usually wrong would say. It’s 100% fair to say that if it comes to a subject where facts lies the person who is factually “right” had a better understanding of the situation than the person who is wrong cuz clearly they failed to understand something which is why they’re wrong. So outta the two the one who i would believe to understand the other more/first/whatever word u wanna use would be the person who got it right the first time. And the person who got it wrong the first time may need to take the extra time to “understand” the other.

There's definitely a difference between facts and opinions in arguments. Opinions are generally based on experience, but everybody's experiences are different. Facts generally can be proven. I never argue with anyone over opinions. What we need to address is accountability wen it comes to right and wrong
