I think it’s the kind of stuff Murdoc eats. However, you notice at the end that 2D looks at his toast, and realized that he accidentally got one of the ears stuck to it. Basically that was the fly that broke the camels back for 2D. Once his toast was ruined he kind of said fuck it, and left.
Noodle in general is super cute. I was surprised finding out that by phase 3 she was grown up. I hope she gets more focus in phase 4, maybe a song where she has as much to do as in D.A.R.E.
My theory is that this video is a hallucination that 2d had while he was eating rotting whale after the attack on plastic beach (see the book of 2d) which explains why Russel is still big (that's how he was the last time 2d saw him) and why noodle still looks like a child (and has no scars). It also explains the weird scenes with Andre 3000 and the Boogeyman, they're just fragments of his memory fading into his Illusion. The comic is the representation of what 2d wants murdoc to be but knows he'll never be, but i can't explain the bowl of ears.
homie literally got hit in the face by a CAR. He even got flung out of a car and hit his dead directly. Those crashes either show hes invincible or loss feelings in parts of his body

In actuality.. this is some people’s real life.. it soothing to see it represented because living like this is painful but you just keep moving and then it’s like everything fades into the background. You give af but at the same time you don’t and you go back and forth between wanting to fix it and just not being able to or not wanting to. Heh. The ambiguity was torture. I remember interpreting something of a conclusion in the fact that 2D received the eviction notice and somewhat spitefully walked off with it. Afterall, here was a band that was initially all about anti-commerlism producing a song for the sake of converse promotion. There was a self aware, almost defeatist tone to it all. It felt like an ending, and it still does.
@@meansofintrigue2269extra weird how this track and it’s extended version are retconned from their discography. Ironically, the only thing that kept Gorillaz going was the advertisements. The G-Shock watch stuff is very similar and definitely funded the last couple albums lol, aside from Albarn’s net worth.
I looked it up today and found 3 versions of it that were the same instrumental version. Why did they upload the same version 3 times but not upload the actual song?
I like how 2d is pretty much completely normal aside from murdoc messing up his eyes and teeth, reeling him into near death experiences, forcing him to be in the band and abusing him. He just seems so depressed and like it is what it is lifestyle

To be honest, I consider this, lorewise, to be the final piece of media in the Gorillaz universe. It's the last music video that really captures the feeling of being trapped in a dirty hyper detailed house with dysfunctional, semi-abusive people that Gorillaz lore and aesthetic was built off of. It's an interesting progression really, they started off just being cartoonishly slapstick abusive, then the lore era with Murdoc constantly summoning demons and getting in trouble with different mobs, leaving everyone else to pick up the pieces, then Plastic Beach and the traumatic nightmare for 2D that it was, and then the worn in, full on abusive, but still somehow comfy, "It's hell, but it's all I've got" feeling going on in this video. It really hits different for me, it might just be my favorite piece of Gorillaz media. Starting with Humanz, they really seem keen on papering over their past and making the band's lore more PG, less edgy, whatever you would like to call it, but sanitizing it. (Feel good-y I guess you could say :P) But that's just my opinion.

I like your comment however I don't think they are supposed to be dysfunctional forever, in Humanz they also get attacked by what pretty much is their biggest "flaws" if that's what we wanna call them, so I wouldn't say it's "watered down" or more PG, expecially because by the end of the video they act like nothing happened and go out for breakfast, I think that still pretty much continues this concept of living in this hell, almost normalizing it, while also trying to say to try to move on because it's possible, and with Now Now and Song Machine they seemed to try and fix their dysfunctionality although it took time... I'm sorry English isn't my first language some words aren't the ones I wanted to use for this comment but I'm missing the vocabulary to explain myself better than this
They’ve definitely eased off the British comedy grotesquerie and mean-spiritedness. Maybe it doesn’t go over well here in the States. Or maybe they think they’ll get canceled if they portray abusive relationships.
I know it's not actually like this, but it looks like Murdoc is the abusive dad, 2D the older brother who takes the most of his dad's abuse and Noodle is the little sister who 2D tries to shield from it all.

for all new Gorillaz fans watching this interested in the band’s storyline: the events in this video are now considered non-canon. Humanz and The Now Now retconned these events that happened post Plastic Beach.
@@gus4446 I like to still consider it canon in my mind, but more as a dream of 2-D’s. They’re back home, Noodle is safe in her bed, Murdoc is being his abusive self, and he keeps seeing weird things which makes him realize he’s dreaming. Just a roundabout way to think about it lol

If they ever do the full-length Gorillaz movie that's been floating around the internet in rumors, I would totally support the characters in this kind of animation.
I don't think they ever are going to do that, not unless this next album spikes in popularity so fast, and so high, that they end up being at the top of the charts, and they are begged to do it by everyone. And obviously none of this is going to happen, not saying I don't think gorillaz is good enough, its just too good to happen.
Story time: When I was a kid, my dad used to play Gorillaz on his laptop bc it was the only way to have me distracted. One day I was being really annoying I guess, he played this video and when I saw 2D eating ears I was soo scared, and my dad told me: If you keep being that annoying, they will eat you. I "stopped" being annoying but the next 6-9 months he had to wake up at 4,3,2 AM bc I had nightmares with 2D eating me alive

Oscar Buenrostro robotic noodle wears black and shoots bullets out of her mouth, the real noodle was the one in the mask, it was revealed that noodle didn't actually die she just went m.i.a and that she came back to kill robotic noodle or something like that, but the one with the mask is definitely the real noodle, hope I helped
Edith AM Noodle was “killed” when she was shot down in the El Mañana video. From the wreckage, Murdock scraped up a small amount of DNA and made robo-noodle. She is then continually hunted down in the video for Up On Melancholy Hill, where she goes MIA and meets Russel who is now giant. Then, robot noodle is broken and actual noodle comes back in the story boards for Rhinestone Eyes. Hope y’all are up to speed!

The dare video was a dream, which 2d is going through a similar thing in video, the windmill was the last place 2d saw noodle , so thats why the windmill and noodle are back. And 5/4 is sexual fantasy for murdoc , fantasy. Just a theory though.

Seeing the crew back together after so long. Noodle sleeping happily, 2D being slightly himself, Russel sleeping on the roof... AND the floating island somehow in the sky (how it's back in the sky is beyond me). The fandom basically jizzed themselves.
Collin Garrison They had a thing with converse for quite some time. They even had an entire line of Gorillaz converse but they're nearly impossible to find these days and you're not going to pay less than an arm, leg, and your brother's body for them.
You can still download it from the converse website. There is a reddit page with the link. Once you do that you can just add it to your local files folder in spotify and use it however you please
The Gorillaz stated that this is because he sold his soul to the Devil, and he becomes more and more inhuman with each phase of the Gorillaz. Hope this helped.
