christopherwilliams2385's comment below kind of touches on this, but the reason the Mark Jewelers variants are often so valuable is because of the rarity being that they were only sold on military bases. The Mark Jewelers insert was in these books so that servicemen could buy engagement and wedding rings. They just weren't distributed as much as the non-Mark Jewelers issues.
I found a mark jewelers in one of my comics. I'll have to look to see which one it was. I think its in a Thor comic. What is the deal with them? Are they rare?
I am a big Spectacular Spider-Man guy and have a FN direct copy, but I would easily go with the Hulk. The story for this Spectacular issue is also pretty lame too after the big Black Cat/Spot/Kingpin story in the previous issue. Be well
I have that book raw 9.0 in mark jewelers and it’s a huge miss cut from print and I would not pay 2k for not even close to that maybe $20. I got mine for $10.
Great videos and always enjoy your content! Mark Jeweler Insert Variants are pretty cool especially when you find them in the wild. They are VERY Wild in High grade and I believe that is why they go for so much to the right collector! Also, ALL Mark Jeweler variants will be Newsstand Editions because they were sold on Military bases Or Near Military bases. I always try to keep an eye out because it is such a Niche market. Thank You again and looking for to seeing more and more videos from you this year! PEACE!
Hm, i wouldn't be surprised if Sony or the MCU studios, puts out trailers to any Marvel movie with easter eggs showing a quick glimpse of anything Mark Jewelers if spotted by fans. You'll see how quick the Mark Jewelers variant comics collectors that may have in their personsl collection to sell off their Mark Jewelers variant comics real quick on the internet for thousands to maybe hundreds of thousands of dollars because of this hype and fad. Influencers for real. Be aware. Nice review.
Great video. For that kind of money I would definitely rather have the Hulk 181. Plus I already have a copy of the Spider-Man comic. I’ll have to double check to see if it’s a Mark jeweler or not. 😎
Mark Jeweler fad is stupid...I used to get rid of these copies...stored bad, easily damaged comic and took extra space in boxes.. bought a huge collection near an air force base...had many hundreds of them...few % of all comics sold but doesn't add value to character, storyline etc...
I understand what you're relaying but actually they do add value in terms of rarity amongst the general comic book community. Obviously, if you were to purchase from places near military installations these copies will be less scarce.
