We countdown our top 5 campgrounds of 2019. There are a couple honorable mention places at the end that technically are not campgrounds, but they were a lot of fun!
We haven't made it to Ohio yet in our camper, but we will keep these campgrounds in mind. They seem spacious, some of the parks really pack them in so I like that the lots are roomy. The geocaching sounds cool at Dillon. And the boats at Atwood are so scenic. Moochdocking looked like the best...lol. Thanks for the share. Debbie
A lot of the Ohio State Parks have some spacious sites. Do you guys geocache? Our Salt Fork video has some good geocaching in it. Thanks for watchings!
We have shot a ton of videos lately, I just didn’t care for them or was too lazy to edit them. Haha. I’m sure we’ll have some new ones before too long!
Great video and info. We’ll have to check out some of those campsites in our little camper with our giant sea kayaks 😂. Since we are somewhat new to the whole camping life thing, this was helpful. And to mention something from one of your other videos we saw, if we ever see you guys out camping, we’ll definitely come up to you and be all awkward and act like we know you 😀🍻 Kidding. We will get our autographs and leave you two alone. 😀😉
Haha! Thanks for watching! Glad some of the info was useful. We usually post where we're going on our FB page. We've camped at least once in every month of 2021, so I may do a video about that at the end of the year.
Great video, Dave & Andrea. All the campgrounds you listed look like really nice places to visit. Like that you showed clips of each of your choices. Love Mohican, especially since I used to live very near there and visited it often when I lived in Ohio. Thanks for sharing.
Those are some beautiful campsites in Ohio! We'll have to make our way up there some day! Thanks for sharing! Christy and I have talked about geocaching but have never really done it before. I think we'll give that a try too!
Thanks for watching! Check out geocaching.com. That is also the app we use. Our Salt Fork State Park video has a good example of geocaching and shows us using the app.
@@FollowingtheFitchs I helped out pulling out 4ft muskies out of Salt Fork. Need a boat for that lake. I missed 3 muskies from the Morning Glory boat ramps in early April couple years ago.
fantastic - thanks for sharing. we tried Atwood after seeing the Schraggs video and have been 3-4 times - its our favourite park within 5 hours of home - but its clear we need to put a few more on our Ohio list! but some are a bit of a drive for us Canadians! :)
We tentatively had Ontario on our list for this summer to visit a friend. Not sure how that will play out with everything that is going on right now. Thanks for watching!
Great video guys.. but it would be nice to know if fishing is permitted.. if it's catch and release only.. etc. Also be nice to include if there is tent/rustic camping
Thanks! You could fish in any of the Ohio State Parks that have public lakes. Atwood allows fishing as well. You will need and Ohio fishing license. All of the campgrounds allow tent camping. Some have primitive sections that are tent specific, but you are not limited to that, you can book any site and tent camp on it.
I could maybe see private campgrounds being that way, but the state parks would have the same rules for fishing as it would if you were not camping and just fishing. Make sure you check the Ohio fishing regulations, not all fish are legally able to be kept.
Lol. Hope you enjoyed that quite one by yourself. Great review. Are you going to the meetup at Mohican your number 1 park? Great reviews and look like y'all had a great year.
Yes, we will be there. The Meetup on the Mohican event is at a different campground. It is called Mohican Wilderness. It's within 10 minutes of Mohican State Park that is mentioned in this video. Thanks for watching!
Great video. I was looking forward to getting out there to the WW camp out but new employer restrictions required me to cancel the trip and stay in state. Maybe next year.
Let me add to your list Kelly's Island State Park (you have to/get to ride a ferry boat to get there) and Geneva State Park right by the fun little touristy town of Geneva on the Lake. They have very nice cabins and have recently remodeled and updated their campsites and hook ups. Thanks for your list, I wrote them in my notebook. Of the five I've only been to Mohican and Maumee.
We tried to get over to Kelley's Island last summer. It was booked the weekends we checked. We thought about going during a time we can spend a couple extra days since the ferry is over $160 for our truck and camper. Thanks for watching!
Thank you! We are headed to Mohican Wilderness on June 12-14 for their "Meetup on the Mohican" event. Check our their Facebook page or ours for more info! All are welcome!
@@FollowingtheFitchs I saw that. My wife has been camping at MW since 1967 so it's a special place. We will be at East Harbor that weekend with family from IL (we hope).
