Hey, lady cuddles and meow, I don’t know if you know the meaning of the r slur in its entirety but that word is not acceptable in any way, even the way you phrased it. The word was used as a word for “idiot” yes but specifically to say disabled people were idiots. To say it to a neurotypical person was to say “you are acting like a mentally disabled person” thus as an “idiot”, it isn’t right in any way because it is used as a way to ridicule and hurt disabled people. I am disabled myself, I live in a family with many physically and mentally disabled people. I would appreciate not using the word as it can deeply hurt the people it is targeted at. This is not to insult or hurt you, but it is to teach you why the word is wrong. I truly love your videos and I don’t want to believe, and don’t believe, that you meant this with any kind of malicious intent.
The caption just ain't it... The "restarted" jokes are never funny, we all know what you're trying to say, and the word is very hurtful to neurodivergent people, such as those with autism
I agree. I'm autistic and it really rubbed me the wrong way. Her even saying "broken" hurt because lots of autistic people such as myself were made to feel like we were broken members of society.
@@lovelyxrosez6589 I'm autistic too and I too hated it and feel hurt by this. I know I didn't struggle to fit in society for my entire life due to my neurodevelopmental disorder for some content creator to treat this topic as a joke
hey ,, the restarted jokes really arent that funny . i know that it is just a joke and im gonan get called sensitive but its literally disability pride month . normalizing the word / making jokes about it can be really harmful .
@@lemongloves i am genuinely upset seeing "well I have a disability and i give them a pass!" you dont give people "a pass" for using a slur on animals and use it primarily when talking about how cats dont like a tooth brush in their mouth. people who think you can give slur passes aren't apart of the communities theyre claiming to be a part of. i am really disappointed in this woman and i actually used her for a lot of information but now she's just any other youtuber that turns minorities into a joke for content.
Same, I’m disabled and I don’t know if she had any malicious intentions but all the same that wasn’t right. I replied to the pinned comment explaining the meaning of the word and why it is harmful without ever actually saying the word. I hope she’ll understand and apologise, because as an autistic person with a brother who has damage to his brain and a little sister with ADHD, with both hyperactivity and inattentive symptoms and many more in my family with disabilities it really upset me. To think that word is still used sickens me, because it is a reminder to me that the world still bullies people for no apparent reason.
We never brush our cats teeth, never have but she spends a lot of time outside and we dont really live in the city. So it might be a pure house cat thing idk. Never had problems
Nor have I. To me it sounds like the cat is getting too much sugar and other decay causing stuff in their diet. This is why animals should not eat people food.
Please don’t use variations of the r slur in your titles, it is just the same as saying the real thing and is an incredibly insensitive thing to do, especially in disability pride month.
@@The-Jettisoned what authority do you have to give her a pass? The r slur has been used in such horrible situations for the past century, it’s not funny and does nothing. Just because you too are disabled that doesn’t mean you can erase the history of pain and suffering people like you and me used to (and still) go through
Why are trying to dance around using a slur? Why are you calling cats that don't like getting their teeth brushed a slur? Why would you ever use that Kind of language?
@@nineaspect I'm not crying at someone using the slur, I'm asking on why someone is trying to dance around the use of the slur, and calling cats a slur. And you my man, are using a slang term in a way that's used by edgy 13 year Olds on the internet to defend someone dancing around using a slur
I’ve owned over 20 cats in my life. I’ve volunteered at 2 different rescues in separate states. I’ve never brushed cat teeth and have never had to take them to a dentist. I’ve owned both indoor and outdoor cats. I think the problem is likely diet and genetics, especially if they are interbred “designer” cats with small gene pools
I would just get a diffrent tooth brush and a puppet with teef i brush the puppet teef and give it 2 treats for the cat to do it but the treats are good choice too
My cat doesn't like treats for some reason. She almost never eats food yet is never hungry. However, our dog likes stealing food from our cat when she walks away uninterested
my cat allows neither. i have to take her to the vet to have it done by them because she smacks me when i try the toothbrush and shes too picky and doesnt like the treats😭
My cat is a stray and pretty much traumatized so stuff like brushing isn't possible, but they also hate things like catnip, they will never go near something if catnip was near it, got any ideas? I just don't think they'd eat the treats for dental care if there is catnip in it
Cats in the wild live about 2-5 years on average. While indoor cats live about 9-17 years. Lots of extra time to develop issues with their gums and teeth.
@@Loast_Toast well, I've had two cats in my lifetime. One was already 10 years when I got her. She lived till 20 and never had teeth issues. We never even thought of brushing her teeth. 😆 I had never heard of such a thing. Where I am from, that's not a thing to brush animals' teeth because we understand that sugar is really what speeds up tooth decay and cats specifically do not eat sugar and we do not feed them sugar. Cats don't really eat acidic foods like lemons either. Plus, they bite on hard things that helps remove debris from their teeth. Humans have to brush teeth because we consume sugar and other substances that increase tooth decay.
Using slurs wasn't necessary. It's 2024 that word literally has been removed from federal law. You wouldn't say the n word would you? But this slur towards protected individuals is ok?
It’s so annoying people acting like we’re “soft” for being angered by a *slur* it is a joke that society is like this. They care if someone makes fun of the right for their views but as soon as a disabled person gets bullied for something they can’t control it’s “you’re too soft” or “you’re dramatic”
BRO I TRIED GIVING MY CAT DENTAL TREATS AND THE DENTAL TREAT HAD A NORMAL OUTSIDE AND THE DENTAL STUFF WAS IN THE MIDDLE. MY CAT SPAT OUT THE DENTAL STUFF AND ATE THE TREAT 😭😭
i have never brushed my cat's teeth and shes 16 and never had any problems. My other cat is 9, same thing. why are you saying we have to brush their teeth then?
Omg my cat is scared of everything but he's picky with treats I tried different type of teeth treats and he won't touch any luckily his teeth and gums look ok so far idk what to try next tho
Please don’t use that word in any form. It is an insult used at disabled people’s expense, check Wikipedia, it has an article which explains why the term is bad in short terms and you can find more info from other disabled people.
@@nekumadoesstuff9481 I don’t care if you don’t care, truthfully. I don’t give a damn, because that word basically means “you are worthless because you are disabled” and “you are dumb because you are disabled” it was an excuse to insult, harm, and run experiments on autistic and other mentally disabled people because “they’re just __” you can fill in the blank I imagine. The word is harmful for reasons, and these have harmed our community for the longest time. We must respect those who were called this back in the day, and those who are called it now. Because it does hurt.
@@nekumadoesstuff9481 it doesn’t matter if you don’t care, it’s still a bad word for people to use. It’s still one which is used to ridicule us, and it has been used as an excuse to harm the people who started disabled rights.
