Good morning, Amanda. You're my morning coffee friend and we talk gardening! Thank you for that. I went to Alaska for 10 days 2 years ago. You will love it!!! I cannot even begin to explain how beautiful the flowers are there. They are just an explosion of vibrant colors! Thank you for our coffee chats and have an awesome trip! I'm in North Carolina by the way. Same zone as you and I totally agree with the humidity, it's brutal!!

I really have mostly informal garden goals only. Only two or three times a years do I make a to-do-list. I find hard and fast goals stifle my creativity too much. I enjoy flittering from task to task, nurturing myself. At the end of my garden day I make a final pass, tidy up loose ends, put tools and supplies away, etc. During this pass I mentally note where I should pick up tasks the next day. I worked and functioned in a very regimented setting which just squashed my soul. Now I am retired and can set my creative self free! lol. I really think things are what you choose for yourself. You have filming and children, family, cruises etc to plan around. It helps you manage your time to get more garden time in. It works for you. Just try to put a little less stress on yourself. I so enjoy all your videos and the new channels you suggested this last week. Thank you

You know what the problem is with taking vacations where it’s cool…..you come back home and it feels even hotter!! 😂. Enjoy the cool!

I enjoy for goal videos. They inspire me to plan more and give me good ideas. Alaska is fabulous, you will love it. The flowers are amazing with all the long days.

I love your recaps and goals videos! It makes me feel that I'm not too far behind. I still have dahlias and lillies that I have to pot out and I'm glad it's not too late!

This year I am also trying to make a photo album journal with monthy garden updates. Not making goals yet, just observing the progress and documenting. Some of my Tithonias are already blooming, just starting up. I got so impatient to see the exceptional bright orange flowers! Love them 😍😇.

You will love Alaska. One of the best cruises I ever went on. I’m going back to watch that seed ordering video. Not sure how I missed it. Thanks for sharing your garden.

Your "planning ahead for fall" video was one of my favorites, too! I ordered seeds for some fall-looking zinnias and some short sunflowers because of you. I think they will look adorable, and I wouldn't have thought to plan for that. (Also, I get to plant my heirloom mums out this weekend. I'm so excited!)

Zone 9a here. I keep starting earlier to gardening & watering early in the morning. So, I was out yesterday at 5:45am, coffee in hand, in pajamas watering by porch light. LOL For month of May, we got 2 raised 4x8 ft beds set, filled and planted. I have already started harvesting cucumbers. I am worried if my cantaloupe plants make half the blooms, the bees are busy pollinating, then I will be giving cantaloupes to my yarn group friends ( Yarnaholics we meet in pubs and beer gardens) and strangers. I'm keeping the homegrown tomatoes, though. Have a good day.

Oh my gosh! I’m from Alaska! I am so excited for you. Even though I’m in Texas now Alaska will always have my heart. I’m going back in August for the fair and to visit my family. I have lived all over Alaska from the bush to the big cities to Southeast on the islands. You are going to love it. I hope you are rewarded by tons of wildlife on the cruise. ❤

Went on an Alaska cruise 2 Years ago and then spent 4 days on land… I’ll never go back!!! Why??? Because it was soooooo PERFECT that I don’t think a follow up trip could even begin to compare!!! You will LOVE it!!!

I have a 1st cousin who lives in Ketchikan Alaska! It’s beautiful. Her husband is a ferry boat driver!

One of my goals was to set up a garden planner. That’s coming along well. I bought your sisters pack, and I’m just waiting for the rings to come in the mail. I’m going to have a garden party the end of July. I want to sit down and write out my goals to get finishedbefore the party. They are in my head but they need to get down on paper. take a break and enjoy your time away! I'm sure we will all survive not having a daily video or not even having one for 10 days. Maybe you could make videos while in Alaska and show us some of the beauty Alaska has to offer or make us envious of the mild summer there while we drench out here!😅😅

My son got married this past weekend and I leave for scotland on the 20th for 12 days. I’m just hoping things are still alive when I get back. Enjoy Alaska it’s on my bucket list.

Oh, how awesome that you’re going to Alaska! It’s a bucket list item for us, too, especially during the summer months. We would love to see footage if you feel like you want to share that (but I understand totally if you don’t!) If you decide to do a garden get together for planning or whatever, I would totally travel up there for that. It would be thrilling to get together with crazy plant lady friends. 😆

GM Amanda, at this point in my garden I'm done with planting. This is the time where all the plants will be put to the test. What will make it to September? If I can push and pull a plant through until September, that's a good plant. I'm a simple girl with simple needs 🤣. Enjoyed the video.

Amanda, we have had horrible humidity in Indiana. I can’t do it. We only get up to 80-85 degrees so I have no idea how you can be outside in 100 degrees and high humidity. I pray that you enjoy Alaska. That is on my bucket list.

My June goals are too much with the kind of heat with get. We are building a “canine cottage” shed and putting up a fence. We are traveling in September and need to have a closed in backyard and place for the dogs to make it easier on the dog sitter. I have Yorkies who need outside every 2-3 hours and that just isn’t doable for a sitter. The cottage will have a dog door to go in and out to a closed in space and a second to go into the main yard during the daytime. It will have a mini split so they have a cool or warm place to go inside 24/7. As for the garden, just keeping it alive at this point.

Enjoy your vacation- so awesome! There's a channel on YT called Simple Living Alaska about a young couple who moved to Alaska a few years ago. They go on adventures and show what they are doing on their land. The scenery they film is quite amazing.

I will LOVE the puttering videos! My days to putter are very rare, so to watch someone else do their puttering is quite comforting in some way lol.

I've always wanted to go to Alaska. I hope you take some pictures or videos to share with us.

You would love watching SIMPLE LIVING ALASKA. She doesn’t do a lot of flowers usually but she mentioned planting some this year while just getting her new garden planted.

Good afternoon. What wonderful goals you have for the month of June. You hit the nail on the head for what yo mentioned for the month May. That is yes sometimes we complete some of the goals but don't make huge goals all the time. Having some smaller goals as well makes you feel like you completed somethings in the garden as well. Looking forward to seeing what comes up in June and Enjoy your vacation.

I'm in San Antonio so I understand the heat! I'm a teacher so I have to wait for the weekend and evening! The evening is basically just checking on things and making sure the drip is working and hot the pots without drip😅

I tell myself I love getting hot and sweaty but it doesn't always help. 😅 I have a spray waterbottle with a battery fan that helps a bit as I take many breaks in the shade. Helps a lot to keep me going. Have a wonderful vacation!!!

Isn’t that the mom way to work full steam up until leaving for vacay?! Please do take a break from videos if it helps you do all of the other stuff. Excited to see what you do film but would rather not stress you out to do it❤
