In June 2022, the Government of Canada published the Single-Use Plastics Prohibition Regulations, which bans the manufacture, import and sale of 6 categories of plastics which include bags, cutlery, foodservice ware, ring carriers, stir sticks and straws. This is part of the government's efforts to combat greenhouse gases and achieve its goal of zero plastic waste by 2030.
