Exactly, if you watch all the "alt color inspiration" it all comes down to some multuplayer recolor from an old game or inspired by some obscure character
@@jordanekl5383But Dark Link/Shadow Link actually has lore, depending on the timeline, in The Legend of Zelda II, it represents the shadow of Link (basically Dark Link is Ganon in Zelda II, being defeated forever in its timeline), in Twilight Princess, there's another different story, and so on. Officially, the first Dark Link was from Ocarina of Time, which is a reflection of Link (similar to Zelda II, but in water, and without Ganondorf having anything to do with it)
@David2073 I was being sarcastic, sorry. Didn't really project that too well lol That's why I said that bit about the devs. Fact is, smash devs are not the ones who created and developed the vast majority of their roster. They are not at all a source of information on nintendo characters. It would be like applying soul calbur 2s lore about Link as Canon. And none the less, this video did a very poor job of explaining anything about the skin inspirations. Just look at the fact that he doesn't even recognize that DK Jungle Green is a legit thing made by Nintendo for the N64. I got the controller to prove it lol
@@ParadiseDB7 It's actually right tho. Cranky Kong is the original Donkey Kong. The current Donkey Kong is Donkey Kong Jr. So the actual name of Donkey Kong is Cranky Kong the second. It's stated in the manual of Donkey Kong Country.
Wasn't the white fur thing a dk country returns skin. Once you died a lot of times, you got help by the game Edit: I've been alerted it's called super kong, thanks guys :)
@@U_Cringe someone pointed out that assist Kong wears a blue tie and not a red one, hence why they don't consider the white alt to be a reference to assist kong
@@BeeBwakka No. Cranky is Donkey Kong from Donkey Kong. Donkey Kong Jr, aka the 2nd, is the titular star in those games. The DK from DK Country onward is Jr's son.
@@aaronwishard7093 actually it's been unclear since the beginning, there's a whole section about the ambiguity of their relationship on i think Cranky's Mario Wiki page
Yellow is SSj1 or 2, Pink is SSjRose, Black is SSj4 or UI Sign/Omen, and Red is SSjG or GoDonkey SSj4, and Green is Donkolly LSSj. There is no blue, but let's be honest it's the most disappointing SSj form out there anyways. I guess this proves that DBS has more SSj palette swaps than most video games lol.
I kept referring to all of DK's colors as dragon ball transformations. Default being great ape Yellow being super saiyan White being ultra instinct Purple, ultra ego Pink, super saiyan rose Green, legendary super saiyan Black super saiyan 4 And Red being super saiyan god
Broccoli Team mode DK for the win. For the youngsters: in smash 64 you could only choose 4 colors, Team battle gave you access to Red - Blue - Green yet some of those were colors that characters didn't have, so you has to put on team battle to use Broccoli Kong or Blue Falcon.
Donkey DK is the computer version of the players in donkey Kong country returns. You can use him to see how to play through a level and you can Summon him via a pig in glasses
The white is a reference to a glitch that you can pull off in the first donkey Kong country game, doing so makes you invincible. Which is why they use a white pallet for the assistant mode in the later DK games.
Remove the tinfoil hat please... Yettis have been in DKC since the beginning. Use logic next time, and avoid strange cool aid at your cult gatherings. Thank you, have a great day.
Nintendo: "make a yellow one for player 4" Terminally online: "This is a reference to the final kong form taken by DK in my fanfiction epic donkey kong 64 and the the eight golden scarabs"
@@cleanupguy3934 come on the white fur does look like super kong from country returns but without the blue tie so I believe it still counts after 2 years of brawl’s release + the white fur look like Fire mini DK’S from Mario vs donkey Kong 2 March of the minis match up
@Mariogamer369 holy shit the confidence here... Hate to break you bubble, but it's logically a reference to the Yettis in DKC or even Eddie the Yetti from the old 90s show is more logical than what you are sayin
Did you know that for the Wii U donkey Kong country returns or whatever if you die a certain amount of times you can get assist DK, who's fur is white but keeping is red tie
White is just the AI demo Kong from Donkey Kong Country Returns in the “Super Kong” mode where it just plays the level for you because you died 10+ times.
You also see the white Donkey Kong in DK Country Returns. It’s like the white Tanooki suit in Mario games, but more op as it just does the level for you.
My car is red, which is clearly a clever reference by the manufacturer to Super Mario Spelling Bee (2001) where Mario wore that exact tone of red for 12 frames on the second to last course
White is actually a reference to Super Kong, a special invincible variant of DK that auto clears stages for you, similar to Luigi in Mario Maker 2 I've seen as much myself in Donkey Kong Country Returns, and I'm pretty sure he's also in Tropical Freeze, though last time I played that was years ago so I could be wrong
I always thought it was for the different characters, black for chunky, orange and blue for lanky, pink and yellow for Dixie, white for cranky, but I guess that doesn’t really explain the other colors
