No MVMT?! I've been given both MVMT and Vincero watches, and MVMT is so bad that the Vincero felt like a $5000 watch by comparison.

I have an Invicta. It has a Seiko quartz movement so it keeps time pretty accurately. Still, I got it as a gift so I can't complain

as the owner of an invicta prodiver 40mm i totally expected invicta to show up on the list lol. i think with invicta u have to manage yr expectations, and buy the right models, and they'll be fantastic value for money. certainly more so than vincero or daniel wellington. at least it has a proper movement in the NH35 in some models.

The thing that bothers me the most about Hublot is that the screws are never aligned on any of their watches. .

I'm assuming all the watches mentioned can tell the time in which case it completes its primary function. I think when you say bad watches there are a number of things you mean such as: 1. Bad design 2. Bad looks 3. Bad price 3. Bad marketing etc

Brick is MVMT for medium income folks. 🤣 MVMT equation is $X watch off Alibaba x 20 + cost to print name on dial($5x20+$2=$102 ~ adjusted down to $99 for marketing). Brick follows a near identical equation. $XXX watch x 10 + cost to print dial and laser back of case)$200x10+$20=$2,020 ~ adjusted down to $1,995 for marketing. Similar for most of the "affordable luxury stuff". 😅

I bought two Invicta's circa 2005 (?) claiming to be special editions, one with a mother of pearl dial dyed orange, which probably sounds awful, but is absolutely beautiful. To my surprise, its engine was a Swiss (Ronda?) quartz, and the price was only $100. The other was a blue dial chronograph with a super polished case, maybe the nicest shade of blue I've ever seen on a watch face, and again, powered by a Swiss quartz. Also $100. Yes, I still have them, but that's the end of the road for Invicta as far as my watch collection goes. Nowadays I stay away from brands with no real history or that change hands to become off-shore crap, which is happening more and more.

I think you forgot to mention and exclude vintage Invicta (which should be completely separate from modern Invicta). They didn’t used to be like this. Check their watches from the 60s/70s

This type of video should be an annual series. Although I cannot disagree with the points made. Some of these brands have no hope and remain on this list, while some brands can actually redeem themselves and make it out of this list for next year. Franck Muller make some of the most interesting watches, I'm biased a little because I own a crazy hour and I love it. The FM brand lost its soul and direction a decade ago, they really need to just focus on launching new watch to "WOW" consumers. Will Rolex/FM/Hublot make it off this list in the next video (if it becomes a series)? What are your thoughts?

Now, about Alpha... I kinda agree about that watches that have a near 1:1 resemblance to other, more expensive and iconic watches is not particularly cool, or a good investment for that matter. And I say that while having four homages in my collection, along with other more original Swiss pieces. (three of them bought early in my collecting, mainly as beaters and to get an idea of how the real deal was on the wrist, and I live a 20+ hour drive from the nearest luxury watch AD). But, the Alpha I have, I bought second hand and was one I hunted down, it is the Daytona 6265 "Big Red" homage, with the panda dial, and it is an older, discontinued version with the slightly miss-leading word "Chronometer" on the dial, and the word "Chronograph" in bold red letters over the 6 o'clock sub-dial. Now the reason I wanted this was not to trick people I had a Big Red Daytona, but because that is in my opinion the most aesthetic sports-watch ever made, and I also will most likely never own a real one, and if I did, I certainly wouldn't keep it in rotation with the rest of my collection. Also, it has a genuine Sea-Gull mechanical movement, that I have had serviced and adjusted to run a solid -3 sec/day, and I have been offered 3 times of what I paid for it, which is kinda cool considering it's actually a fairly recent homage. So homages of discontinued models I have nothing against, but when I see certain (and especially) Omega, Seiko and Tudor homages that creeps above the 500 buck price-tag I do struggle to see the point. Also, I think a lot of micro-brands and even some slightly more established brands can fall a bit under this umbrella, because there's a lot of Submariner homages and acclaimed "original" designs that bears heavily on the Rolex Sub appearance, but they only slightly changed the size or put on a slightly different finishing on the dial. And, lastly, there's one thing I have to say that kinda even hurts me slightly, and that is that I have an Ali watch that leaves my 4x more expensive Hamilton in the dust in regards to both finishing, feel, and bracelet, the only thing thing the Hamilton has to offer is an ETA 2824 movement over the Seiko NH-35A in the Ali Express watch. But, in the end I think there are very good alternatives to mostly all watches that are not homages. Orient, Seiko, Bulova, Citizen, Casio, Hamilton, Marathon, Tissot, Lumi-Nox, and the whole universe of cool micro-brands have a world to offer for a fair price and an original design.

Rolex deservedly on the list and for the reasons you stated. A horrible horrible company that have been taking credit for others inventions and innovations since the very beginning.

I use Invicta as a beater watch, around the house, and work. I have a Tudor, a Tag Heurer & Omega I wear on weekends and going out.

I have 5 invicta watches in my collection. I bought the more "rational" models ;) keep good time and give me variety at a good price.

I had a Rolex GMT Master back in 1969. A good watch with a "TERRIBLE" Clasp that let me down badly. I can sincerely say that my Invicta Pro Divers are actually better and have served me better and with less angiush than the Rolex caused me.

Stauer is advertising in magazines in the US, it's an "interesting" brand. They have a whole catalog full of stuff and I question everything they sell. One of their watches was given to me, I think it cost about $100, and it's made worse than a $10 Timex.

I like my Invicta Pro Diver. It fits really well and has a NH35 powerhouse. Then I acquired a Grand Diver. That thing was huge and nerly forced me into a gym subscription just to be able to pick it up. I moved it on pretty quickly.

Come on Invicta is not that bad a lot of Us got started with them. Also, you name me a watch like the Pro Diver 9937OB that's 200m, uses a SW 200 has solid end links and a scissor style clasps all for around $200. Yes, the lume is crap but you can always get them professional relumed.

TBH, i know Invicta makes A LOT of awful watches but, if you research long enough, you can find pretty good looking ones with great movement (swiss, japanese, quartz or automatic). What kills them is that 99% of their stuff is trash (but as long as tasteless people buy them, they will produce them)

The Romain Jerome Chronograph of circa 2011 is without a doubt the coolest looking watch ever made. They should have just stopped with that. _Maybe_ update it with a Daniels co-axial escapement, but it was pure beauty and perfection. Then.... they lost the plot.

In my opinion, there is a slight contradiction in the video. I kind of see Invicta as a the average Joe's Hublot. They make some large colorful and crazy looking watches, many of which are a bit gaudy, at times.. They are what they are and I truly think some of them are fun pieces for some people who are into such flare....not my cup of tea but at least they are something different.

The vach are very under rated next to Rolex in some ways and their overseas are true class and really beautiful. Right up there with AP and similar in quality to Patek Phillippe

My first real venture into watch enthusiasm was an Invicta Pro Driver in 42mm sub style. I liked it, it was cheap, and its never not told me the time. But, I do not recommend Invicta to anyone looking for a good stylish watch. I recommend Seiko or Casio. True story: a recent acquaintance asked me about a watch I would recommend. I happen to be wearing the Invicta on my wrist at the time. He asked what I had "there". I waved him off, laughed pulling my arm away from view, "Oh this is a garbage watch. You don't want this shit. He laughed. I said "you want a G Shock. That thing will take a beating and last you for 3 decades. You'll fall in love with it." 2 days later he bought a G Shock. 😂

So many people around The World will be trying to figure out the phrase ”What did you buy that was pony,then?”.😅

I wear 44mm watches and even a 46mm Doxa but there's no way on earth I'd wear one of those gaudy quartz powered Invictas you showed at the start of the show. Just because they're big doesn't mean they're manly. They just show really bad taste and no eye for quality. The tachymeter is for measuring the tackiness of the watch which on a scale of 1 to 10 would rate at least 15. These pieces are best suited to being used as fishing sinkers or even as an anchor for a small boat! I would however happily wear a vintage Invicta or even their more recent very affordable automatic subbie homage (except I don't like Subbies).

People hate Invicta because their in-house designs are hideous, and they artificially inflate their MSRP then claim 80% discounts or have "Buy 6 get 4 free" sales.

Hublot's inability to align screw heads drives me insane. If they could do that they would improve their watches 10x over. It just screams that they pay no attention to detail.

I’ll always love Invicta because “The Watch World” hates them. It keeps me grounded. Sorry but the watch world is full of wankers who unironically say things like,”I _only_ made $5k on that watch. It was a _complete_ waste of money!”. Anything that flies in the face of, gets under the skin of, or swims up the urethra of as they take a slash in the Amazon, THOSE kinds of people, and isn’t just surviving, but thriving, is good in my book. I don’t have kids, but if I did they can buy their own Invictas. I don’t need a watch to pass down. I also don’t need a watch that “changed the game” because the fact they made the Model T didn’t make me buy a Ford. Sometimes you need a timepiece that’s more like a side-piece.

Maybe "worst" isn't the correct description. Poorly made maybe, overvalued? Invicta may not be top tier but if it allows someone to get into the watch world, I'm all for it. It's better than them wearing a "smart" watch.

Invicta watches are, on the whole, truly ugly. Except for the 40mm Pro Diver with the NH35 movement. That's actually a fun little watch at pocket change prices. I have one, and it's a fantastic daily driver. But yeah, the rest of the catalog is a kaleidoscope eyesore.

With prices that creep toward the AP, you'd think they'd pay a tad more attention to detail. When I see any Hublot watch with their proprietary screws on the face, my OCD alarm goes off! 😁😎👍✌
