@@DEIMOS_MEMER Aight so I looked into it again so you don’t have to Long Story Short - The album cover is a picture of a co***se lying on the floor with their brain spilled out aswell as their neck and wrist being slit. A letter can be seen which roughly translates to “Excuse all the blood" the picture is of pretty infamous quality Context Behind it: A band member suffered serious mental health issues which led him to off himself and another band member finds his body, takes a picture of it, sends it to a friend who later makes a bootleg album which he uses the picture as the album cover You can find the picture on wikipedia though it’s best that you don’t do that (also where i got my info from :P) Here’s the longer story. Though if you really want to understand how this all happened you need to understand the reputation that Mayhem (band) had. Mayhem is a Norweigian black metal band formed by guitarist Øystein Aaresth † (AKA Euronymous) Jørb Stubberud (AKA Necrobutcher) and drummer Kjetil Manhein in the 80s. They are well-renowned as one of the most influential metal bands within the community with their first debut albums "Mysteriis Dom Sathanas" being one of a classic! However outside the scope of their success they’re infamous for their dark history with its members. It’s notable members were 1. Euronymous (Øystein Aarseth) 2. Dead (Per Yngve Ohlin) 3. Necrobutcher (Jørn Stubberud) 4. Hellhammer (Jan Axel Blomberg) 5. Attila Csihar 6. Maniac (Sven Erik Kristiansen) 7. Blasphemer (Rune Eriksen) 8. Ghul (Charles Hedger) 9. Teloch (Morten Bergeton Iversen) 10. Messiah (Eirik Nordheim) Here’s the dark history. Their former lead vocalist, Per Yngve Ohlin † (AKA Dead) apparently has an uncanny fascination with death and s*****e that resorted into him having serious mental issues such as depression and anxiety. His ideology of death captivated Euronymous who actually encouraged him to off himself because he too was a deranged psychopath with his own being to spread evil and murder people. At this time whilst the band were together Dead and Euronymous did not get along well and often resorted to acts of violence such harm with lethal weapons etc. Dead would allegedly harm himself offstage and strayed from his friends. Some speculate he may have had Cotard’s Syndrome which basically makes him believe that he’s already dead. Upon succumbing to his mental health. He unfortunately passed away at Euronymous house via offing himself with a shotgun that broke his skull and splattered bits of his brain. Aftermath Euronymous was the first to find the body. Rather than calling the police, he went to a nearby shop to buy a disposable camera and took a picture of it. He then informed the group and then Necrobutcher about what happened and explicitly said: "Dead has done something really cool! He killed himself" to which he responded furiously and told him to delete the picture. But he didn’t listen instead. He took bits of his skull and made a necklace out of it to which he gave to other musicians . There was also a rumour that he made stew out of his brain but it was later denied. The pictures were then sent to one of his freinds who made a bootleg album called "Dawn of the Black Heart" which featured the picture as the album cover. What’s crazy was that Euronymous actually got murdered 2 years later by bassist and member of Burzum band, Louis Catchet (AKA Varg Vikerness) via being stabbed 23 times. His reasoning was simply due to self defense because he overheard Euronymous plan into trying to lure him to the woods to get killed and then film it. Varg is just deranged as him as he engage in church arsons and launched a neo-nazi campaign that endorsed Esoteric Nazism and Heathenry.
@@critikoji245Way more info then needed but I am definitely not complaining! 😂 Edit: You are able to find the cover uncensored in some shorts, luckily I clicked off fast enough 😬
I’s a graphic image of a monkey being skinned alive. This particular image was photographed in 1997 by Nick Knight for like a project or smth and then photoshopped into a blood red background
