Hi Aaron You discuss licensing on machines. I own my own arcade business here in Ireland and for each of my locations I need a permit that costs €125 and you can have up to 10 machines on that one location, but it costs an additional €100 for each machine on one location including the permit. A pool table does not require a permit and if you have a jukebox on location in a pub for example you do not need a permit, but as long as the pub pays music rights then the jukebox is ok. Pubs will pay music rights because most of them will have live music and that will cover the jukebox. The other thing is that in my town you cannot get a license for a slot machine, even though my town has a casino that has many slot machines on that location and I honestly don't understand how that works. Maybe the local law enforcement doesn't bother to check but I honestly don't know. The neighbouring county does allow you to get licences for slot machines, so its a strange one. Covid did hit my business hard but thankfully I had something to fall back on and now my amusement business is doing well again. As you know yourself Sir it is not a 9 to 5 occupation, but like your goodself I absolutely love my work and everything about it. I'm working on some retro arcade machines atm and I have locations to put them in when I'm finished working on them. I did modify them with electronic coin mechanisms and I am in the process of putting multiple games into each of them. I know certain people will sat keep them totally original but the retro machines I bought were in fairly bad shape and restoring them to be totally original would just not be suitable for location. I personally have my own toy vending machine buisness. A person told Me a needed a permit for it but I know I didn’t. Big machines like stacked and claw machines I get it.

In Oklahoma, you have to have a permit for every machine. Not netter if it’s in an arcade or out on a location. You would think you could have one permit per location but it’s not that way. It’s kinda strange. (Edit: Also, for plush, ball and jewelry claws, its $175.00 and for candy claws I believe it’s $75.00.)

Where I live, Tennessee, amusement machines require a tax stamp (displayed). Claw machines, are games of skill, and thus not amusement machines. Claws do not require a stamp.

There is basically no arcades in my area: either my city is terrible with its licensing, or everyone is too distracted opening liquor stores and drinking themselves to death.

The UK its a nightmare you need a license depending on what you have i.e claw machines and stuff are a family amusement license but coin pushers and fruit machines(slot machines) require a gambling license think one is £3000 a year the other is £5000 but that would cover your full premises wether it was 1 machine or 50
