Daniel… you’re in luck! I got a radio with your name on it now 👊🏻 Congrats! Shoot me an email on my website with your shipping info and thanks for watching!
@@TalonSei DudE!!!!!!!! thanks soooo much, I was just talking with my buddies about this radio, can't wait to get it installed and test it out - love all your content btw - watched your Insta live on the new Vertyx bags and totally looking forward future vids on those (that Holiday pack looks sick)
1. Subscribe 2. Leave a like 3. Leave a comment I will pick a winner and reply to your comment after a week! This verified name is my only account so don’t fall for dumb bots 🤖 Side note - GMRS license fee is going from $70 down to $35 on April 19th. No test, simple to get, good for your entire immediate family 👍🏻
I’m starting to dip my toe into GMRS comms. It’s been useful for range days, hunting, and travel. FYI for anyone interested in GMRS. FCC is lowering the price of the 10yr license from $70 to $35 starting April 19th of this year.
That is definitely a great starter unit that won't break the bank. I dont know much about comms but would love to learn more. Maybe a video with you and Mike (LLOD) would be awesome.
Interesting vidoe that is not an April Fools day joke... I was waiting for the punch line the whole time. Looks like a super useful radio ill be adding to my line up sometime!
Hey Talon, I’m a fan of your videos. My video production company is the main video team for Back to Baja and we will be working with Flarespace and Storyteller overland. We will be out there filming with our Movi pro / black arm car rig. Would be stoked to grab some shots of you and your van. Anyways, great video thanks for sharing 🤙
Another great video. Thank you for the honest review. There’s nothing worse than someone pretending to be an expert on something just to look cool. I’ve never owned a midland product yet, but this might be the first.
Ive never been happy with my CB. That'd be great upgrade for me. I like the controlls on the mike. It stops you from looking down at the base unit and keeps your head up. Thx.
Have a small handheld that doesn't have very good range. Hadn't thought about a more permanent solution until watching this video. Now I really want one for my rig. I have a newer sprinter chassis so I have already been looking at alternative mounting!
I guess I need to look into GMRS again. I didn't know there was repeater systems for it as well. That's awesome! Thanks for giving me a newly sparked interest!
If you plan to use the repeater network it may be worth considering higher wattage radios so you have the strength to use more distant repeaters. I personally don’t tend to use repeaters and use my GMRS mainly for vehicle to vehicle communications when convoying so the longer range isn’t as required. I’ve found the 15 watts in the MXT275 to be more than adequate.
this is great for me, as a truckers son and tacoma owner i could use this in so many ways. and please put another 1 of these in your gf's 4 runner be so much easier for when you 2 go off roading. hope thats not out of line, not my intentions
Looks to be a nice size radio even for a SXS. I like the idea of the hard wired mobile over a handheld do to its always in the vehicle. Thank you for the video!!
We were talking 10-15 miles apart at Big Bend with these. I have the +6db whip antenna on the bumper of my 4Runner. People generally use channel 19 on highway and 16 offroad if you are looking for strangers to talk to.
Interesting video I just picked up two handheld ones from amazon Midland GXT x-tra talk yellow and black to add to my gear while traveling I like that one that’s a cool little unit have fun down in Baja ok 👌🏼🔥🤠🔥Camping Russ out
This just what I need, we are going on a road trip next month. My 4Runner and two motorcycles, this will be great, especially if we are in an area with poor cell reception.
Great video! Considering this unit because of a recent trip where our kiddie radios were dying by the end of the day. I like how the controls are on the mic and I can tuck the rest of it away.
The 275 is a great unit. I already run a MXT115 which is the same power level, just has the controls on the radio not on the mic. Wife would love a stealth install of a MXT275 in her Jeep.
Love the idea of a hardwired radio . I’ve used the handheld ones but the batteries don’t last and don’t seem as effective in the woods. Love the channel!
Thanks for another informative not overly complicated video. Enjoyed checking out your Revel at OverlandExpo in Flagstaff last year. I have a 2020 Revel. Love it. Baja looks like a great trip. Unfortunately work is an obstacle for me to join that trip.
Great video as always Talon. I have the MXT 400 in my truck. My wife has this same unit in her jeep. Makes for a great ride to the beach house rental or up to the mountains. Nice to have in case of a bug out situation as well. Someone will love this radio. Thanks for sharing. Safe travels
@@LexPena mxt400 definitely has more power. But if you are just trail riding with friends or even on a road trip with friends, distance probably isn’t an issue. With that said, I’ve had conversations with a guy about 30 miles away. The 275 doesn’t seem to have that kind of range
Even in an age of Cell phones, it is nice to have a back up way to communicate. When my wife and I moved to Texas we were in separate cars so we had walkie talkies to avoid the hassle of calling on the cellphone or not being able to communicate in places with no cell service along the trip.
I bought a baofeng handheld and yes it fallen on my head also but mostly I leave it tucked in the passenger seat...I like the fact that all the controls are on the mic.
Nice clean setup. I have a few of the hand helds and they are a pain to remember to keep them charged up. lol. Having a hardwired setup is the way to go.
Great video... need to add this to my overland LX570. I started off with HAM but it's way more complicated than we ever really needed. Will be switching to GMRS/FRS this season
Love your videos, Ouray, Silverton, Telluride and Durango are some of my favorite spots! Have been looking at Midland MXT275, would love to win this one!
@Talon Sei cool stuff! Radio has always been something that fascinates me! Another well put together video from one of my favorite creators and a person who inspires my content creation as well!
