The older that I get, the more difficult it has become to maintain friendships with [heterosexual] women, as most are male-centered: either looking for a man, catering to a man, or constantly talking/complaining about them. Either that or they're looking for a cheerleader/yes person. I find that most of my previous friendships relied on me constantly biting my tongue(because many people can not handle honesty). At this point, I'd rather keep the interactions business related.

It makes me sad for that person. I wonder what happened to make the person not want girlfriends. I would not be where I am today without my friends. Having friends to share & discuss life is needed for all women in my opinion.

Jessie!!! I could talk on this subject for hours. First, it makes me sad when women say, "That's why I don't 🤬 with females." I lost my mother 16 years ago. It seems like yesterday. It was my girl friends that held me up and saw me threw that period of my life. It was my girl friends that gathered together and they all didn't know each other, but developed a plan to see me through another devastating point in my life. To have friends you can laugh, cry, fight together with is priceless. You don't need a lot. Even if you just have that one good friend, you're winning!🙌🏾❤️

My life is so full because of my female friendships, they get me through the highs and the lows. After the loss of both my mom and sisters, I appreciate the love I receive from all of the women in my life. I am sure they feel the same way about me in their lives. The richness is unexplainable sometimes we don't see or speak to each other for weeks or months. However, when I pick up the phone or have a face-to-face we laugh and cry and laugh. I am so blessed, so when a woman says she doesn't have female friends, I try to have empathy about the pain they must be carrying, and my heart softens for them. I know the paiin you speak of and I offer you light and love.

It is really a blessing to have women friendships. In my life, I have experienced mean girls and been the mean girl. The experiences have opened my eyes to the type of friend I want to be and the type of friend I really NEED. I’ve repented of my former ways and God has blessed me with goodbyes from friends of the past and hellos from new women friends who I feel like I’ve known for years. It is work to maintain friendships especially women friends and in my experience most women would rather compete than collaborate. So, I’ve kept a smaller circle. However, the quality of friends I have now is a true blessing. Great chat and love your channel and style!!! ❤

I’ve always found it strange when I hear women say that they don’t have other women friends. Cause there is NOTHING LIKE having a good girlfriends. After watching this, I’m going to work on being a better friend

I so agree with you on women friends. I grew up with 3 brothers. Now Iam in my 70s the few women friends I have in my life are so dear to me. At my age several friends have passed away . Life is short enjoy the moment . Be grateful for all your blessings.

I have to say when I was in college, I had way more male friends than female. I find that I get along with males (strictly as friends) more than females. I love learning, history, doing different things, traveling, food etc. Most of the females I know are not into those things. The single ones are looking for a man and the married ones are either having kids or trying to. All of them are complaining about their relationships or lack of. I'm not a therapist and I get tired of dealing with their relationships every time we talk. My male friends are not like this. I have better conversations with males. I had to explain affirmative action to one of my female friends and how it most likely benefitted her when she started to speak on a subject. She knew nothing about it (I find females speak from feelings not an actual knowledge of the subject) and how it was struck down by the last presidency and the ramifications of this action. Also, I do not like Beyonce, females act as if you have slapped their face with a whit glove and challenged them to a dual, males do not care who you like. There are usually several reasons why some females do not have female friends.

My Mom is my best friend. I have coworkers and a few people I talk to but that's it. My life is way too busy to spend time with anyone but my close-knit family. I'm also an Introvert so I never go anywhere to speak of. I'm happy with that.

I've loss so many friends to death over the last few years and these new friends are very competitive and have very little loyalty. You have my condolences on the loss of your mother. The Loss Mother's Club is so brutal.... you definitely need a good girlfriend! 🙏

I feel your pain Jesie....in fact;I know that you'rt still hurting!!You have my prayers and virtual hugs!!I have 2 female friends,one that I grew up with,that would always put a smile on my face through the hardest times,even though we were both young.Whenever I had no lunch;no one knew because her lunch became mine too!!We lost touch,but found each other again...but since I got sick I feel so a shame and embarrassed,that I haven't contacted her.The second friend is truly a gift from God,she means more to me than anything....and yes,she's the only person here,that I confide in,because it doesn't get thrown in my face!!Whenever I feel sick or going through hell;she's the one I email,and she is right there!!!She is a friend,family,confident and my only cheerleader,and she ask for nothing!!!I totally agree with you,a true woman friend will stand by you through sickness and health....when others fail to do so!!Love you sis,!!!😢😢😢😢💗💗💗

i have always wanted to have genuine female friendships but even when I had them I always sabotaged them because it is a struggle for me to be vulnerable, to express how i feel about them and to address things when i’m unhappy about a situation. i realized that perhaps it is because i don’t have a good relationship with women in my family. therefore i always assume that women are judgmental by nature. i struggle to let loose and just present myself authentically around women. Note: i don’t have male friends neither nor have i preferred them over female friendships. however i don’t have as high of a wall when interacting with them.

I want deeper female relationships, but they seemed one-sided. I'm always the one reaching out, played therapist and planning activities so I stopped. Many fell away which proves the foundation was not really there. I'm okay with quality versus quantity.

I know that feeling all too well! There was a time that I ALWAYS overextended myself doing everything I could to be a “good friend.” I’ve now realized, a good friend wouldn’t want to inconvenience you, drain you or only take. I believe good friends pour into one another.

I almost never had female friends for most of my adult life; I did early in life in grade school. Then, around age 40, I was born again in Christ Jesus and developed female-only friendships through church. I vet the women very carefully as I befriend them. Some I don't bother with as I see their interactions with others or they seem problematic. I keep men at a distance, especially as a single woman- even Christian men cannot be a real 'friend'. Sorry, truth. The only men in my earlier life who were friends were all gay because- they don't want to date you (putting it nicely). Some of us move around a lot and lose friend groups, so having moved and been born again- I have landed in a nice female friend group of my own (only some of the ladies know each other).

I've had the same exact 5 girlfriends for 30 years. (and they are sisters) At this point they are My sisters. The 6th BFFFFF died in 2022, and will NOT be replaced. They and my girl cousins are my friends. Need no additional.💥 Doesn't mean I don't love other women and aren't nice but I keep a friendly distance. My core group is locked down. 💕

It irks me to hear people say they cannot be friends with women. It suggests that men are better and let me tell you, that is not the case lol. I'm not sure if you have heard any of the Wendy Williams news but what I have learned most from that is the importance of friendship. Having people in your corner to lift you up but also to keep you grounded. It is so sad to see a legend be taken advantage of during a time when she needs support. I do not have a lot of friends but I have been working hard the past year to nurture new friendships and to show up as a better friend to everyone.

In the past I didn’t understand women who didn’t have good girlfriends. I’ve been extremely blessed to have wonderful girlfriends in various groups my entire life. I have a new understanding for those who choose not to engage in female friendships after hearing the horrendous experiences they’ve had. Think Shanquella Robinson. It makes me sad because I don’t know what I would do without my “sisters”. True friends will not feel like the things you need and the quirks that make you who you are, puts “pressure” on them or the friendship. True friends support, sustain and love even through the darkest times. Sidebar…some shenanigans might be happening on YT. I missed the live the other day and I didn’t understand what happened. Today’s video showed up on my recommendations but I was unsubscribed from the channel. Normally I wouldn’t think anything of it but it’s happened with 3 of my fav content creators on YT including you and this is the second time it has happened with you. The first time I thought I may have accidentally unsubscribed (I didn’t really think that but I went with that to make myself feel better), today I’m feeling very 👀👀 😒.

I am blessed to have awesome girlfriends. Some have come and gone but the core ones have stuck it out with me. I am always trying to be a better girlfriend and it is something that I tell the higher power that I am working to be better at. My girlfriends are in different states and other country but I am so grateful for them.

I have very few real girlfriends.. probably 3; however, we don't regularly get together or have closeness, due in-part to proximity and work schedules. Maybe I should say I have 1 girlfriend that I am really close to who because of life circumstances, understands me and judges me not. 🙂 I lost my father a bit over 2 years ago, but my Mom is the one who always receives the late night, early morning texts and notifications when I arrive someplace out of town. We all carry some form of grief in our life journey. I pray God girdes you up in strength and I am hopeful you continue to have those beautiful sister friends.

Since losing my mom in 2017, i feel you. I have a tuff time trusting folk. So i stay to myself. I only have 1 really good friend for over 30yrs but shes in ohio and im in Atlanta. Not close to any women here in Atl but im kool with that.

I feel sad for them because I remember my past self feeling that way and how much better I felt once I gained genuine female friendships. Especially now as a first time mother I honestly don’t know where I would be mentally without my friends who can relate to this phase of life and going through it with them.

I speak to my best friend almost every single day. I have 5 younger sisters and I love each of them, but she is the 1 I choose. We keep each other accountable and we check on one another...my friendship is dope!!!❤❤❤ Jessie, you already know, you're my friend in my head😂❤❤❤

My first thought is that is sad. Also, I do wonder what happened to have them in that situation. I have two friends that I’ve had for over 25 years and no one will replace them. Great friends, especially female friends is a blessing. Both of them have lost their mothers when we were in our 30s and I at times feel bad mentioning that I am doing something with my mom. Not that they make me feel that way but more so because of the amazing relationship I have with my mom and the fact that they no longer have theirs it makes me try not to “make them” revisit their loss. However, I am sure that just waking up means they will think of their mother and nothing I am doing triggers that. However, I still feel guilty because I am sad for them for their loss.

I’ve been noticing that with my friends as well. Sometimes when they mention their mom, they will pause. I can’t tell you not to feel guilty, but try not to. I don’t know your friends but I know they love you, and they wouldn’t want you to feel bad.

I consider myself to be a fairly decent good friend! I do have women friends in different shapes and sizes 😂 ( Meaning different personalities and I would not spend time with all of them together. I would spend time with each one of them separately because they are different). Also, I do have quite a few children, and now since they are older and young adults, they have become like friends to me. My mom's birthday 🎉 is on tomorrow. I may drive 5 1/2 hours to visit her and my sisters tomorrow...

How do you not love who YOU are? meaning, you are a woman, how do you not love that? it truly bothers mean when other woman say they don't get along with other females.
