That's interesting, so in your style you never lower your stance more than what you show? and your YJKYM is just a neutral stance for combat and not a training stance like in Ip Man lineage?

Bill Murray That’s correct, the YGKYM stance doesn’t go lower than a natural bend in your knee. Think about when you walk, the amount your knee bends, is what you’re looking for. The stance is for development, but leads to application. Wing Chun develops awareness and feeling of self. I use YGKYM, to develop awareness of body connection and the feeing of it. When I have that feeling, my sense of maintaining that feeling of self control is what I go for. Combat should be based on natural motion. Like playing any sport. When you see players move in any sport they are upright. That allows for the most natural body motion and mechanics to happen. Any other shape will lead to extra muscle being applied. Why would I want to do that?
