Anyone else discovered Sharivari recently and is desperate to put everything into practice, but can't because you don't have a table and all the pubs are in lock-down? Thanks for sharing your knowledge!

I've been a subscriber for a little while now, and I've seen my performance improve dramatically. But not being able to shoot for the past few months has me worried that the progress I've made is going to degrade, so I feel ya.

Yeah, I was thinking about driving up to Wyoming cuz I heard there's some bars open up there. But instead I've just been watching Efren videos. And Sharivari of course. I'm anxious to get back to the table. I found in the past that watching these pool videos, , that my game improves quite a bit. I think sharvari makes the best instructional videos out there!

Another brilliant lesson. I understand all the rules of position play, but have difficulty applying them. You describe the thought process in a way I can understand better than any other teachers. The video is exceptional because we see what you do and the verbal descriptions provide clear insight. It makes me more relaxed at the table because I'm starting to think about strategy as you explain it and that's the piece I've been missing. What impresses me the most is how you execute what you explain so well and even point out your (one) 'mistake' on the 7 ball. I'd really like to hear your approach to the mental game which seems to be so natural for you. Me not so much.

Thank you for your efforts to produce and publish these videos. I have seen many videos produced by other reputable instructors that typically produce a graphic of how they struck the cue ball (top, bottom, side, etc) but frequently it is confusing because the video viewpoint is 180 degrees from the players viewpoint. Congratulations for including video from the "shooters perspective" - it does make it much easier to follow. Also, Lefties Unite! Soon we will take over the world!! Again, thank you for your efforts to conceive and produce these videos.

That often happens to me on that shot (I fall a little short coming off the rail at that angle). I started giving myself a little bigger angle when it comes up. The shot really isn't much harder, but you don't have to force the cue ball for control and the right speed. Hope it helps.
@minecraftdude0016
@minecraftdude0016 4 года назад
For my own experience. This is just my personal preference . On that 7th ball to the 8th....if the cut is more than half THICK, nearly 3/4 or three quarter cut. I prefer the follow shot with a little running spin. And if it is a 1/2 cut or less. I prefer the stun shot. As of the 3rd ball I prefer the natural roll but with a controlled downward slicing cue tip follow through on the vertical axis. Simple tira.

Nice run. The shot to the seven is one rail and be a bit closer. Center top and pinch of left and speed control and get an angle you don't have to stroke. A rule of thumb,. The closer the object ball is to the rail the more pure your stroke will have to be. Although you made the eight and got perfect, it's a pressure shot. Many things can go wrong. If I missed that shot I would be thinking about how I should have shot the six ball. Hey! Do a video on how to stay calm and play good under pressure.
@gizmobently
@gizmobently 2 года назад
You have a great stroke. You are able to get the most action off that cue ball. Can you show us your stroking technique? In both the open thumb position and the closed finger position and jyst how your both put your fingers/hand and how you follow through when you are wanting good action on that cue? It seems to me that some people have the perfect technique in getting the most action from the least amount of speed. You definitely have it and play superbly. Thanks for sharing my friend.

Great Video. For me, it's more about the speed control. I need to consider the amount of ball over lap , so to speak, and try to remember how much energy the contact of the cue ball will require, to get to the next preferred area of the table... Ball speed certainly affects the spin coming off a rail... Less can be more !

Hi Sharivari, great Video and good explanation of different Ways to get to Position on the next ball. May be you could show the different outcomes of ways by playing it an reset after. For me it is much easier to see what can happen. When i'm playing these drills without someone watching, i often don't know why i don't get to position or play safe on myself ;) This would be an improvement on an almost perfect lesson.

As always thanks for another one of your fine videos! One question though - two actually! 1. Is it possible to increase the thickness of of the lines on the control cue ball please? And 2. Are you able to show us or me how you have mounted your cameras and which version of GoPro you use to shoot such wonderful videos? Some kind of behind the scenes I guess. Was that that 3 questions? Sorry. 👌🏿

Tbh if you know spin and how to use it and use it frequently to position then you most likely play pro positioning at least from my perspective because usually beginners will learn top, bottom and center first then learn spin a bit later once they master the first 3

Even on the 9th ball if its not a 100% sure of pocketing it you should plan where to put the cue ball just in case of s miss so as there would be some sort of a defense against the opponent thus is what i see watching professionals.

It seems everything is going exactly as you want, while in real match sometimes the cue ball is not always going to the way we want. Maybe you can show us how to manage problems like that and how to recover from the miscplaced cue ball
@buster5643
@buster5643 4 года назад
Simply put it depends on the game your playing In 9 ball you usually have 3 options, force the cue ball so you can get back on line with your next shot, play a safe, or go an extra rail or two in order to get back to the correct side of your next shot. In 8ball you have the same options as 9ball except you have one additional option of possibly using a different pattern. You might get hooked on your original plan but still have a shot at another ball. Use that one ball you have a shit on to try to get position for you next balls and rework your patter to fit. Honestly i rarely play for perfect leave, however i will try to always play a two fold shot, i try and place the cue ball in an area where i have 2 or 3 shots and (if i miss) my opponent only has maybe one shot if none at all That way i have a higher probability of having a next shot regardless if i make it or not Just something to consider *edit when i say 9ball i essentially am referring to all rotation type games
@jamesnewcomer5963
@jamesnewcomer5963 4 года назад
If you're analyzing three balls ahead with every shot, you should be adjusting your plan as you go. He actually did have a situation in that drill that didn't go as planned: the leave after the 7 ball on the 8. He explained his adjustments.

It depends on where my bridge hand is. Just feeling more comfortable on some cue ball positions, for example when it's close to the rail. But I prefer the open bridge on most of my shots.

@ericb6390

Practice shots from those spots over and over, 99 percent of shots that look to be scratch shots can be avoided mainly with left or right spin,then follow or draw,or cue ball speed
@rickselby8068
@rickselby8068 4 года назад
Why when max follow English is applied, either right or left after hitting the object ball then advancing to the rail does the cue ball come off of the rail in the opposite direction expected? This is one part of physics I clearly do not understand.
