Bad taste maybe lol. I have just clicked on 10 indie songs in a row and all had overly long intros that segued into twee insufferable lyrics. This is the only one that panned out into something good.
Lyrics: Do you realize that you have the most beautiful face Do you realize we're floating in space, Do you realize that happiness makes you cry Do you realize that everyone you know someday will die And instead of saying all of your goodbyes, let them know You realize that life goes fast It's hard to make the good things last You realize the sun doesn't go down It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round Do you realize, oh, oh, oh? Do you realize that everyone you know Someday will die? And instead…
my daughter died last oct 16, 2018 she fell from a 10 story building out of depression she was 15. i love her more than anything in this world now I'm alone and struggling to live... i sang this song for her...
I love this because not only does it prove that Wayne Coyne is a brilliant songwriter, it also proves that Sharon Van Etten has one of the best voices of her generation. (I also came here from youtube algorithm lol)
Stop losing precious time brother... It's time to move on, live life to the fullest without shedding a tear of remorse and sadness for the times past or the ones that never happened. Live till your heart explodes, your eyes close, your breath stops, and don't ever hesitate for nothing or no one. Live today, not tomorrow
@@1ls376 You won't . We drag the ghosts of our loved ones behind us like chains. I still don't know if that's beautiful , that we refuse to give them up … or sad that we can't let them go.
This is a song that has such an important role in my own history, I know that I would be a jerk about anyone's covering it, but not Sharon Van Etten. It's like she's that special that she was able to get a painful sweet sad memory and take me back in time 15 years minus the pain and sad that would eventually come out of the situation. It's like being in a dream or a movie in my head while she's singing this. Wow S Van E ❤ Another home run.
this song is just perfect, my 1and a half yr old cat scribbles was ran over and killed about 5 days ago by my neighbor and i listen to this and cry my eyes out. I cried so much i cant cry anymore thank you sharon
2 minutes ago, I was just talking to my friend about the recent passing of his father... Trying to console him that the silver lining is: if it was a positive relationship, whoever passed left something behind. Some way that they affected you while they were alive. Things they taught you, traditions, skills, or just the way they saw things. So they'll always live on, in that regard. That's how I've carried myself through my existence. Then I get on RU-vid, click the first recommendation and it's this song... I mean, I think about my own personal death often, but wow...
beflygelt :D Thank guys. I trying hard english with duolingo and some english video about converstation. XD there is lots of amazing things im the world but if you have to know english..~~
I don't know what you were going through and I know I'm about four months late to say this but I just want you to know that you matter. I believe in you. You've got this 💙
@Charles Lee Ray what is too much compressed (probably by youtube itself since that how it works everytime you upload it its compressed) makes her voice fake ? the heck you talking about bruh ?
A great voice, and a great choice to cover, this Flaming Lips song. She also covered The Smiths on "Last Night I Dreamt...". I'll have to catch her in concert though not a big folk fan (I especially like her work before she went electronica). I did like a lot of John Denver's stuff, and a few other recordings of other artists though.
@Captain Kirk really? you are a "captain kirk" with a picard picture. and yes it does sound like The Big Ship in the beginning (after my comment, I noticed others below said the same)
@Captain Kirk i'm not a hipster (i realize hipsters don't themselves realize they are hipster trash but i asked some candid friends i trust and they attested that i am in no way a hipster; i have a notarized form somewhere that i present at border crossings when necessary)
Rewatching “Gortimer Gibbon’s Life on Normal Street”. This song plays during the end credits of the episode “Mel Vs. the Future”. The song’s listing is credited towards the end, but before it did, I tried using Shazam on it to no result until the third or fourth try; it was mistaken for a track called “Between the Worlds” by Terry Lewis. Weird. Then I realized why it couldn’t identify the song and why it’s not available on Spotify- Shazam and Spotify are partnered companies. “Gortimer Gibbon’s Life on Normal Street” is a series on Prime Video, a product of Amazon (of course). Amazon has their own music streaming service, Amazon Music. Song is available there, if anyone is interested.
Wanting a hug right now. Her voice reaches to me and hugs me entirely. I feel so protected from myself. I want to die. In the depths of me and further still I want to die. I don’t want to be gay. For my father hating me. I don’t feel like a person anymore. My childhood isn’t worth it. My religious family hates me. There’s no escape from your skin. Idk
Consider yourself hugged from an internet friend. I am so sorry for your struggles. Just know that there are people out there who will love you for you. There is NOTHING wrong with you. Nothing. Anybody who says contrary doesn't know what the fuck they are talking about. Please send me a message if you need somebody to talk to. :)
Thanks. I’ve only got one way out and it’s to live. Thanks for your clarity of who is worthy of their own humanity. Gonna listen to all of Sharons songs. Never the last thanks for uploading this one:))))) Take care of yourself *hug
your family doesn't know the fear they are operating from. They are confusing gods love. Your tribe is waiting to meet you. Love is here. This world is a beautiful place. There is love
