I have been doing your VO Blueprint. I got the first job I auditioned for in ACX & am a Level 1 seller in Fiverr. You, your coaching and your family are amazing, Bill!
Thanks, Bill. One experience I had with a formerly successful voice actor turned coach, speaks to your note on how one should seek coaches that are currently earning as voice talent. I confessed in my unsubscribe reply to his email promotions, for coaching weekends with a price tag of $1495, that I found them depressing, because it was so far beyond anything I could afford. They made me feel breaking into the field was an unscalable wall. He did reply and said he didn't want me getting down, so he'd remove me from the email list. A month later, I got another promotion for a $1695 weekend. Now I was mad, so I said "someday we might laugh over a marguerite about it, but really, $1695!?? That's outrageous!" Here's his prize comeback: "Well, I was educated at Cornell. That was expensive, too!"
Dude your advice has been solid and completely fair With honesty to both sides. I really appreciate it. Some of the other coaches I've watched, I noticed in where they want you to focus on and it's not necessarily necessary for beginners at all. Mainly being the most expensive equipment that many people cannot afford. You shed light on that and many other related topics and I really do appreciate it. Keep up the good work.
Some real, priceless golden nuggets of advice once again dispensed by the VO master himself, thanks Bill and a very Happy Thanksgiving to you and all your family.
This information is really great. I have recently been getting coaching and they are leading me. I may take on your Black Friday Sale to get more help. I am finding these videos to help a lot. I am appreciate the constant information you give us.
I’ve been tinkering with sound on and off for years for my own enjoyment playing music. I took a VO class back in 2010 I believe it was for a week at a local college (then I got a manufacturing job and put it on the back burner). Now I’m semi-retired I have the equipment I’m working on soundproofing and I just think I need coaching and a mentor. I have adobe audition, audacity, studio one artist 5, PreSonus studio 24c audio interface and a AKG 220 Mic. That is just some of the things I’ve collected over the years including my 20 year old MXL 2001 mic.
Thanks for the GREAT info, Mr DeWees!! It’s very much appreciated. I’ve been trying to “get my feet wet” in the Voice Over world, and would love to speak with you further. I’ve done a few small projects, which I attribute to the “coaching” I received from watching your videos. So I’m sure I’d really benefit from your course. Hope to have the opportunity to speak with you soon. Thanks, and have a great day!!
Hi Jono! Great to hear all that! If you haven't already, make sure to check out the link in the description to book a call. We'll be able to find out what program is a good fit for you. Feel free to reach out if you have questions. Glad to hear things are going so well! :-)
@@VoiceCoach-BillDeWees thanks so much for taking the time to reply!! I’m looking forward to having the opportunity to speak with you in the near future. 😁
Oh hell yeah, you need a voiceover coach. I’ve been dabbling in this for 20 years. I’ve done hundreds of voiceovers and still can’t quit my day job. It takes a lot of practice, not just dabbling and a coach or two… or three. However, everybody is different.
