Puente Hills Mall, located in City of Industry, California, United States, is a major regional shopping center in the San Gabriel Valley region of Los Angeles County. It is most notable for serving as the filming site for the Twin Pines/Lone Pine Mall for the 1985 movie Back to the Future starring Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd. Anchor tenants are Burlington, Round 1 Entertainment, and Ross Dress For Less.

I used to have to spend hours at this mall. There was a bookstore next to AMC Theaters. I would spend my time waiting for the movie to start reading at the bookstore. I miss those days.

Yah when I went since I’m 29 minutes away I took a pic of the Twin Pines sign but everything was dead. This place used to be to be the best mall to me.At the time I thing like four or five movie theaters spread on one side of the mall and than another by the Toys r us .The park across the street full of people taking a break from the mall. The golf n stuff had just opened and you could see from the fwy how full it was and people lining up for the dragsters with the food court full with lines. Its weird to see your childhood slowly go and it started for me with Toys r us and kaybee

I remember when this mall opened. I was 10 years old. We would ride skateboards to the mall. The Gap was my very first job ever. I was coming home from work the night Back to the Future was filmed. I could t get through so I just stopped and watched. If you look closely you can see my headlights in the background. Moved away from California a long time ago. But this has fond memories.

Oh my god. My malls on ytb! Dude I grew up with this mall and my mom always took me here as soon I learned how to walk. I remember the koi pond. The toy stores. Sadly I wasn’t born yet when the carousel was around. I’m happy it’s not closing. Bc mainly of the hot pot restaurant, round 1 arcade ( my fave) and the amc. Those places are bustling on weekends. Just found out the Bath and body just moved their store across the street next to the Marshalls.

Stores to remember: Karl's Toys and Hobbies Casa de Candles J.K. Gill's Small World Gifts and Novelties And towards the late 90s, a store that catered to all sorts of geeky stuff. Comics, video games, memorabilia, even had PC gaming towards the back. Have no idea what it was called.

I think I remember in 1997 or 1998 they had computer gaming and comics and Collectibles. The front I remember looked like a old pipes and rusty building look. But don't know the name.

Man I always went to that mall during my high school days. I remember “Back to the Future” was filmed there. Lots of great memories! I lived closer to The Fashion Plaza in West Covina, however.

I miss the old mall, when it was busy and full of life in the 70’s and 80’s. I’m bus operator for Foothill Transit, Puente Hills is one of our layover spots. It’s just so sad to go inside the mall now. City of Industry needs to put something else in here now.

I once had a brilliant idea for a food court restaurant. It would be kind of like Hot Dog On a Stick, but it would be Hamburger On a Stick. LMAO!!!

I lived in the housing track right across the street from the mall. I remember when this mall was just a hugh dirt field. In fact, there was nothing but a gas station on the corner of Azusa and Colima. My family moved away before the mall opened, but I did get a chance to shop there a few times. It was the biggest mall I had ever been in. I was amazed at how big it was. Too bad. I like the way you mention " Twin Pines" and later "Lone Pine" Mall. Thanks for the memories.

On the opposite direction there's Westminister Mall in a similar state of sadness. In this day and age, we're oversaturated with malls and promenades/centers and online shopping. Why go to Puente hills mall when West Covina Mall is up to date and not that far off. Why go to Westminister Mall, when you can go to the Huntington Beach shopping center right off the freeway as well? They're in the same direction. Oversaturation of malls is a very 90s, early 00s thing. We need something, we'd go to the mall. No need to drive around looking for stuff. No online to order and pickup in store; much less check inventory. Sign of the times I guess

Wow, that is so sad. It reminds me of our hilltop mall/the shops at hilltop in the bay area. Yes I remember the mall directories and I used to collect mall directory Mabs back in the day. Thanks for the video. Sad to see them all decline like that.

Puente Hills was the place to go in the 80s. They had so many restaurants like the Velvet Turtle, Black Angus, PJ Pizzaz, Malibu Showboat, etc. I miss those days. Anyone have pictures???

Anyone remember the Old Fashioned Ice Cream Bars? It was upstairs and they would dip the bars in either chocolate or vanilla and press it against rainbow sprinkles or nuts.

You said in Back to the Future it was called the Twin Pines Mall and then became the Lone Pine Mall. I wonder what happened to the other pine? Maybe somebody drove into it in the parking lot and knocked it over, so now there's only one pine left. HA HA
