Kerplunk, Toss Across, Don’t spill the beans, don’t break the ice, ants in the pants, hands down, boggle, parcheesi, trouble, head of the class, concentration. Always got games every Christmas. Ahhh, the 70’s.

I loved it too! Even that Woolworth special, Chinese checkers tri. We played em all! Kerplununk my parents hated! Pick-up-stix, and Jax I'm still good at!! Oh 52 card pick-up! Hat toss, so many that I miss! Thanks so much for your comment 😊

I grew up in the 70s, but we played many of the same games. As young children, we played Candyland and Chutes and Ladders. When we got older, we played many of the games you mentioned as well as Parcheesi. There were some other games we played such as Pay Day! and Bonkers. There were some two player games as well, such as Stratego and Battleship.

Anybody else remember the card game Pit? I grew up playing it with my parents and siblings. It's been a tradition in my family to play it whenever we get together. It's a fast paced game where you trade cards. It gets loud and it's so much fun.

Thank you for the memories! Our family loves playing games! We have owned every game you mentioned, over the years, except Square Mile- never heard of that one! Loved Careers Game! Still love Scrabble! I remember playing Probe, do you? Games do bring people together. Our local neighbors get together on Friday afternoons here. Our multi- generational family loves to play Canasta, Farkle, and many of the games you mentioned.

Back in the late 70s and early 80s, me and my cousins would all love to play TROUBLE when we got together at my grandmother's house. That was one of the best games ever! So many fond and fun memories playing board games. Now, we all sit around with our phones shoved in our faces. Sad times.

Aha! I thought the two girls playing Scrabble looked familiar! They're the British group The Caravelles! Lois Wilkinson and Andrea Simpson! I was just listening to a block of their songs recently! As a family with six kids we had a cabinet in the garage with a bunch of board games in it! An oddball companion to Scrabble was a game called "Numble" also played with wooden tiles that none of us really knew how to play! Haha! We also had both Mouse Trap and Fish Bait games - the latter of which is largely forgotten in time but fun to play because it built another odd contraption!

I love playing board games. Sadly, i can't find people who want to play them these days. Clue, Risk, Scrabble, Life, Monopoly, Twister, Sorry!, Operation - played them all. As for the rest of them...never heard of them. I am happy that my son and his family play games together. Battleship was an old favorite. And my granddaughter loves Sorry, Connect Four, Candy Land and Shutes and Ladders. She's 6 so she's outgrowing Candy Land and Shutes and Ladders but hopefully she will be interested in other games as she gets older. And Yahtzee will always be a favorite!

We had a cabin the the mountains when I was a kid. We didn’t have TV, radio or phone, we only had electricity. We played cards and board games at night or read. Our Monopoly game must have been one of the original games, it had wooden pieces

The board game i remember playing the most as a kid was Wahoo. It played a lot like Sorry. Each player had four marbles that you had to move around the board to your home base. You had to roll a six to get a marble onto the playing field. If you jumped over another players marble they had to move that one back to the start, so you could be one roll from winning and boom, back you go. The game we had was homemade, a 2'x2' plywood board painted green. It was very fun and we played it many many times.

I remember playing Monopoly with my family when I was a kid. One of my brothers always had to be the racecar or he wouldn't play. My mom didn't care which token she used as long as it wasn't the flatiron. ("I hate ironing!) My dad would use the shoe. ("Give you a kick in the pants if you try to cheat!") I was always the top hat, so when I started to go broke, I'd turn it upside down. ("Brother, can you spare a dime?") Lots of fond memories.

Much like Monopoly, if you played "marathon" games of Risk! that lasted hour after hour then you weren't playing the game properly or with much skill at all. Risk and Monopoly are my two favs and both are classics, head and shoulders above all others.
