Seerious remark, I've come to the conclusion that saying "There's no such thing as normal" is actually unhelpful to some of the people outside the circle of what others would consider normal (if it wasn't made increasingly taboo to say some things are normal). The same people often still have much the same expectations - they just think it's not okay to articulate their expectations because it's passed off as more caring not to, and then everyone is only more confused about what anyone really wants or thinks, and feelings are still hurt. I know, I know; it was just an off-hand, "in-character" remark.
