When you draw do you lean towards a simpler art style or a more detailed one?
I found some old time-lapses from 2022 and thought to use them for a video about the art style. I wish I used a more detailed illustration for this comparison but it still works well for this video.

in my opionon the simple artsyle is the best artstyle, even though its simple what makes it good is that its iconic, for example sonic and mario and kirby, theres charcters are simple, BUT ITS EVECTIVE, even though simple artsyle is well... simple! they are so fun to draw

True! When you nail simple character designs it can become easily recognizable.

It has been many, many years since I've drawn. I am creative, but drawing is not my strongest skill, despite my imagination excelling in creating it in my head. Despite that, I oddly was surprisingly good at drawing scenes from TV shows. Not drawing right on the screen, but basically drawing a screenshot manually by looking up at the paused picture a lot. I think my best one was drawing Brock's Croagunk in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, as I also drew the background with it, and I practiced a bit of shading, which really helped it stand out among my others! I really liked the video, and I think you made a lot of good points, especially that an artist can specialize in multiple styles! I think that is very useful, as even in simplistic styles, sometimes extra detail can be used or conveyed, and having that knowledge can really help in both directions!

Drawing scenes from TV shows is a great way to improve you art! I'm happy to hear you liked the video! And yes, having the knowledge of how to simply or add details can help no matter what kind of art you create.
