Do YouTube Videos Give Good Skateboard Advice? 

I will say, im like 50/50 on the skatepark comment he made. Ive seen kids, like young kids, get laughed out of the park by people twice their age, and eventually they just stop showing up. Simply bc of skill level. So while i absolutely agree with you about going and making friends in the community, i also agree going to the park on off hours AT first, mainly just to get a feel of the park and to get comfortable on your board there.

I want to say a huge thanks to Sarah Park the youtuber instructor who she helped sooo much to olie, backside, frontside, shuvit, popshuvit, my board. Braiele was nice too. Dan Corigan and all of his friends are awesome and they are my best motivation through the web who are helping me psychologically to go out there and skaaaaaaaate THANKS A LOT !!!! And you Ricky :)

I disagree with the skatepark comment too. People will learn a lot about skating in a somewhat confined space that is intended for skateboarding, not to mention copying what others are doing or getting help there. I also think people shouldn't feel limited in where to skate at all. I think a skateboarder can best be in a skatepark (with some protective gear), versus in the streets. It's also why I kind of disagree with the whole 'commute anywhere' recommendation. A total beginner should really not do this. Maybe after some experience, yes. But first weeks / months probably really not. The whole 'start with the basics' stuff is kind of incomplete advise. Some people want to get into flip tricks early. Others want to be able to drop in early on. There's no right or wrong way there. If with learn the basics is meant ollying up a curb and basic board control when riding around, then sure. But it seems a lot of people talk about having a certain trick down before the next. I would say any of the basic skateboarding tricks can be learned next after mastering the ollie. Whether or not learning to kickflip before learning a varial flip happens to be the most effective approach really depends on the individual person sooooo much, that I can not recommend a trick order. I did varial flips and kickflip body varials before the regular kickflip. And I wouldn't change a thing about that.

Skaters are haters. Skateboarding is about freedom and creativity and for the individual. Do what you want and don't care about what anyone else thinks.

Glad to see you doing well after the Braille debacle Ricky. Skating is different for everyone. I’ve never really cared what anyone else thinks. I am ok at it and I enjoy the exercise.

Peak hour at the skate park is like 8 people in Australia

Everyone always says “ride around your town” “ride to the store” “ride to school” where the hell do you people live?. Lol skating to the local store and back would take an hour or more in itself and involve mostly carrying my board due to lack of actual ground. Mostly be walking on the side of the road avoiding cars. Lol I can’t stand that advice. Not everybody lives in a city with nice sidewalks and smooth ground with stores and schools on every corner Lol

Dude using someone else’s video for views and something for you to make content about it isn’t cool if you’re just gonna talk bad about the guy making the video, so he explained his points for two minutes at a time he’s thoroughly explaining to people who are getting into skating, you forget it was a video on for beginners, you’ve just lost a fan for just talking bad about the guy for most of your video, great example to set dude, most of this video is just you talking about him talking for too long good job hyporcit 🤙🏻

He sounds like an excited little kid. I’ve seen his vids. It’s kinda silly. I can tell he’s a newb which is totally cool but there’s something about all the new skaters who then make tutorials right when they learn a simple trick. When a tutorial should be done by someone experienced. Some of his vids have a lot of misinformation about legendary pro skaters when he can hardly Ollie. His vids were popular too which was mind blowing. He did make a video about quitting skate tube but he’s made a few since. On a side note I’m pretty sure his comment sections are fake auto generated because they seem not to be real. The comments also sound exactly like something he would say or the way his dialect sounds.
