It's probably irrelevant at this point, but there were only supposed to be six horcruxes. That's why they say there are three left. He split his soul into seven pieces, one of those pieces being his own body.
There is a very nice dialogue for 39:25 in the book. Ron said, "I think I understand why Dumbledore left me this lantern. He must have guessed I would abandon you." Harry said: "No. He must have guessed you would always want to come back." that was touching
There are so many deeply intentional things in Deathly Hallows that gets lost from something as simple as the script writer and director not being careful enough. I love the movies but they could have been EVEN MORE epic with more attention to the symbolism. Example: Harry and Ron’s fight in the tent. Movie: Harry exclaims, “What, you think I don’t know how this feels?!” Ron shouts, “No you don’t know how this feels! Your parents are dead! You have no family!” So harsh and Harry just takes it, just tells Ron to go, to leave. Making Harry a martyr and Ron a bully. Book: “My parents are dead!” Harry bellowed. “And mine could be going the same way!” yelled Ron. Then Harry goes on to belittle Ron and they both pull out their wands. It was an equal argument in the books.
this is the worst since that is not how it happened in the books. Harry never let her go. she was trapped in her cage and couldn't protect herself. I hated Harry for that. She was one of the only victims of the books who was unable to protect themselves or didn't choose to be there.
I literally threw the book across the room when Hedwig was killed. She has said that he died because he was the last vestiges of Harry's childhood gone but I thought, "since when did Harry have a CHILDHOOD!" It just felt senseless and cruel.
Last time we saw Dobby, Harry told him to "never save my life again." Now Dobby's back just to save Harry's life and he pays the ultimate price for it. Breaks my heart every time I think about it.
This theory does not really hold up, however. Dobby also saved Harry in the fourth year of Hogwarts, it was actually Dobby providing Harry with Gillyweed for the second task of the Triwizard Tournament
Voldermort only knowing the first half of the prophecy is what led to him to killing Harry's family, but he didn't know what the second part said. So trying to get the whole prophecy was important because from his prospective, it could of had information to explain why he messed up or what his future might be. Interesting detail, the prophecy was about Harry and Voldermort, so Voldermort himself could of retrieved it from the ministry but at the time he was trying to keep a low profile and entering the ministry was just too risky for his long term plans. Lucius was tasked with luring Harry to retrieve the prophecy and hand it over, but he messed that up.
Bellatrix didn't kill Neville's parents, just tortured them to insanity. He sometimes visits them in hospital with his grandmother, at least according to the books. Apparently they don't even recognize him, which is even more heartbreaking.
When Neville goes to visit his parents his mum gives him a gum wrapper that he always keeps showing that somewhere inside she recognises the son she loves so dearly! That’s even more heartbreaking still.😢
Not to mention that they weren’t even spoils of war lost in battle, the longbottoms were attacked AFTER Harry survived just for some kicks and giggles and maybe info. Also the movies don’t go deep into this but Neville (as his parents) has some weird constitution and resists a lot more than others (last movie shows it a bit but not much). Something else that they don’t show much which is a pity is how beserky and pragmatical he is with his fighting. Sure he gets better with charms but the guy sticks a wand on a death eater’s eye, once needed all four griffindor boys to hold him back from punching Malfoy for mentioning the “crazy” section of st mungus (call back to him going full on “ok I’m gonna fight u” *fists up* in Philosopher’s Stone and also cut from the movie the dude was going MASS MURDERER with mandrakes - im actually upset they don’t hype Neville as much, the dude is menace and just gets more unhinged with 600 points all put in constitution in his character sheet all while being like “plants are cute right” *potting extremely violent plants and getting totally hurt in the process and being like “done :)”* soft boy can spit fire.
Even his wand combination is a bit on the wild side with it being one of the hardest woods to control (cherry) but with the purest “soft” cores (unicorn hair). Anyway love me my Ted bear pj wearing killing machine - good boy good boy
P.S.: minor spoiler warning for the books and because I’ve been on a Neville character study lately; I was rereading the final battle the other day and Neville does come out as not only reserved but his nature is soothing, like dude carrying dead bodies but will stop and talk to Harry who describes his friend as “looking like an old mad” and even as he’s doing it he is able to tell Harry is struggling with something and offers him support. We tend to focus on the cool “action stuff” I won’t talk about where gets very geiffindorish but his loyalty and kindness also Shine a lot Which is why I am one of the people Who’ll tell you his book endgame wife if very fitting (which I hope doesnt count as spoilers here since it u only go by the movies you won’t even know her haha).
She erased her parents memories so they wouldn’t get hurt because of her. Also did you guys catch that Otto from house of the dragon actor is also playing Luna dad?
@@malamark04Same, never would have guessed it. The face gives it away once you know, but the long hair, clean shaven look plus the different accent and higher pitched voice makes it a hard tell.
voldemort’s soul is split in 7, but one of those parts is still in him. so far we’ve gotten the diary, the ring, and the locket. the rest are yet to be seen!
It's confusing because he says he wants to do 7, not be split in 7. That's why Slugh goes "woah kill 7 ppl bro??". In da books, IIRC, Dumbly says he couldn't finish in time before getting rekt by Lily. I see why it's weird to them.
Ya, it's a pretty common misunderstanding. I put that more on another book to movie issue where it didn't get explained well/at all. There's plenty of things that didn't get translated well. Hence why I can't wait for the series in a few years.
@@LoRe-nm8gd Voldemort wanted to make 7 horcruxes, the last one after killing the Potters. So at this point the characters think there are 7 pieces of his soul: 6 horcruxes and one in Voldemort himself. SPOILER They don't know Voldemort accidentally made a horcrux that night, Harry. A horcrux he never meant to make.
Pretty insane how you two can watch the sixth movie and think "yeah Dumbledore could have made a horcrux" when they make it clear that it's considered the most evil magical act in the story
@@jf175 true but nothing in the films to this point should have given them an inclination that Dumbledore could make a horcrux. Horcruxes are basically Voldemorts brand of evil exemplified
@@jf175I see where you are coming from, but this trait of Dumbledore was never shown in the Harry Potter franchise. Also he never believed in Dark Magic and Horcrux is the worst form of Dark Magic known
@@AcornSmokes420Dumbledore was way stronger than voldemort at all times. Even Grindelwald could have beat voldemort (he would still be alive because of horcruxes)
51:15 Pudgey is right. When Harry and Hermione were at Godrich Hollow, and she found grave with the symbol, it was the grave of Ignotice Peverall, who is the original owner of the cloak and Harry’s ancestor. All other invisibility cloaks are temporary. Their spell does not last long. Harry’s cloak is the only one who’s lasted for centuries, because it was cut from deaths own shroud.
It's a Tale, the Deathly Hallows is a legend, there was no bargain with Death. The Peverells were three brilliant wizards who created those three powerful magical objects, and the legend began with their passing. The Elder Wand's core is made of a hair of thestral, for example. We don't know how the Stone and the Cloack exactly work but at least he cloak doesn't sounds like something out of the scope of achievement of a genius wizard. Same with the Stone, especially because we learn those ghost are not the actual souls of the deceased, but rather illusions that comes from the heart of the Stone's owner.
@@melaniekay3647 nice to be so innocent and naive to believe in a childrens tale, the 3 brothers were beyond their peers and made their individual objects, and such ingenuity hasn't been seen since
Lucius tried to dispose of the diary by planting it on Ginny Weasley and that resulted in the diary's destruction. He failed to retrieve the prophecy. Draco failed to kill Dumbledore, Snape had to do it. Voldemort is very pissed at the Malfoys despite them being ostensibly on his side. When Voldemort asks for one of his Death Eater's wands, its like he's asking them to give him one of their arms.
@himanshusharma6713For me the 8th movie feels like two different movies in one. The first half has a very good pacing and has a tone very similar to Part 1, but then the second half feels rushed, poorly structured and features some useless over the top action scenes while leaving a lot of exciting information out.
Agreed I would never choose to rewatch this as a kid, but as an adult, knowing the emotional weight this film holds and appreciating the overall tone of it, it's now my second favourite film in the franchise.@@19_meg_91
Rufus Scrimjeours death is so heroic in my opinion. He was tortured and ultimately killed by Voldemort but refused to give up any information on Harrys whereabouts (even though he really didnt like Harry) He truly wasnt the best Minister of magic, but he came through in the end
@@dennisonvlee2999 Bill Nighy is british acting royalty. Apparently he became very aware that almost all of the british acting greats had been part of Potter...so he made it known that he was interested :D
There's more detail on Harry's invisibility cloak in the books. It's more explicitly explained in the book that although there are other invisibility cloaks in the world they tend to be be flawed in some way. For instance their magic fades with age, or they don't make somebody perfectly invisible. That sort of thing. Harry's doesn't seem to exhibit those flaws. In the book when they visited Xenophilius Lovegood and he tells them about the deathly hallows, they react when tells them about the cloak of invisibility saying something like "what's so special about a cloak of invisibility? There a plenty of those" and Lovegood says something along the lines of "Aah, but have you ever seen a perfect one, impervious to age and others' spells" or something like that. Harry, Ron and Hermione all glance at each other, because they have seen something like that... Harry's cloak. When the death eaters arrive at Lovegood's place harry uses the cloak in their escape, and Lovegood tries to summon the cloak off of him using the accio spell, but it has no effect. Also in that scene in the book, Harry makes sure the death eaters see his face before they escape so they won't think Lovegood is lying and wasting their time again (for which they would have punished him and potentially Luna). He had already tried to bargain for Luna's release with all sorts of magical trinkets previously and the death eaters were quite fed up with him as a result, which is the reason they showed up 'guns blazing' so to speak.
@@MontgomeryWenis no he says it in the first book. In the first movie, all he says is “That’s an invisibility cloak! It’s really rare.” It implies others, but gives no details.
I loved the escape scene from Lovegood in the book. Hermione was sooo quick on her feet. Hid herself and Ron under the cloak, only left Harry out to be seen by the Death Eaters. Ron made up a story earlier that he was terminally ill at home to join Harry, him being there would have meant trouble for his family. Hermione...well there are 1001 reasons to hide from Death Eaters when you are a "Mudblood" :S
I like how they changed the scene here, because it canonically makes sense. In the books, escape from Lovegood house and getting caught by death eaters are two different scenes. Here, they condensed it into one. Harry had no reason to show his face cos A) Disfiguring his face later would make no sense B) The death followed Harry to the forest and then to Malfoy Manor, so there was no question of them punishing Luna's dad.
57:39 The movies completely dumbed Ron down compared to the books. They gave a lot of his moments to Hermione. He's actually very smart, and personally my favorite character.
I think there should've been 9 or 10 movies instead of 8, not going into small books details but just put back everything they've cut, some of the characters developements and the unmentioned ones But still we can't make movies in everybody's perspective
@@saifrashid8701 You don't even know who the new cast will be. I'm also skeptical about a reboot. Not because of the potential cast, but because despite its flaws, the original series is still very much beloved. And I'm doubtful that the new series will be able to add much value. I definitely think they can add value, but I'm doubtful that they can add so much that it blows the original series out of the water, because that's what has to happen for it to be worth it. It has to be amazing. Not just decent.
Pudgey is so intelligent. The amount of things she picked up on is tremendous for someone who has never read the books before! Great reaction guys, excited for the last one now!
The three brothers were suppose to be the Peveril brothers, who you will remember Hermionie found Ignotus Perverils grave in Godricks Hollow. Now, JK Rowling has said that Harry is a direct descendant of Ignotus Peveril and Harry got the invisibility cloak passed from his father to him. Also, side note. Dumbledore asked James Potter to let him study the invisibility cloak. Unfortunately he had it in his possession the night James and Lily were killed. Dumbledore always felt guilty about that.
There’s a couple of deleted scenes with Harry & Dudley also Harry & Petunia that I think you guys should watch from this film. To this day we can’t believe they didn’t leave them in 😭
I agree everything with the Dursleys should have been left in. Especially was it book 5 or 6 when Dumbledore when to visit his Aunt and Uncle to plead with them to allow Harry to stay to keep up his protection spell. I was amazed that his Aunt knew who Dumbledore was.
The thing with Harry and Petunia should not have been left in. Petunia in the books didn’t deserve any kind of redemption or sympathetic nods. In the books she didn’t say a word to Harry, she left without as much as a “good luck” or “stay safe” and treated him like crap for his entire life. I don’t care if she was Lilys sister or she was all sad about not being a witch herself - she literally treated her dead sisters child like he was sub human and hoped that she could suppress him so hard that he wouldn’t become magical. However, Dudley is a separate case. He mainly repeated what he heard from his parents which was calling Harry a “freak” and bullying him cos he was different. After Harry saved his life he completely changed his point of view and started to see Harry as a person and stopped buying into his parents beliefs. A child literally had more sense that two grown adults who bullied and abused an orphan child cos they didn’t like magic.
Could be worse. I've seen one reactor who didn't like Dobby's appearance much, even in Chamber (I don't know why - maybe the tea towel). When Dobby came into the cellar in this one, and said "Dobby is here to save Harry Potter, of course," the reactor said something like "That still doesn't justify your existence." Mere moments later, she said "I didn't really mean that ..." through the tears. I have to give her some credit, though, for not editing out the comment. She said it to be funny, I am sure. Maybe she left it in for penance.
Dumbledore’s entire back story is sadly missing from this film. If you’re interested, here is a bit more about it: Dumbledore was the oldest of three kids and when they were young, his sister was attacked and traumatized (unspecified) by three muggle boys. She went mad and was unable to control her magic. His father was furious and presumably killed the three muggle boys and was sent to Azkaban for life. His mother then took the kids to Godric’s Hollow. Dumbledore was an exceptional student at Hogwarts and everyone thought he would go on to become the greatest wizard of his age. As he was about to graduate and go on to travel the world, his sister had a burst of magic and accidentally killed their mother to he had to return home and look after his brother and sister since they were no orphans. Albus was quite bitter about this as this was supposed to be his moment and he wanted to pursue his ambitions but he was stuck taking care of his siblings. Then during the summer he met a boy named Gellert Grindelwald (we see him briefly in a flashback in the 7th movie). He was equally as brilliant as Dumbledore and they fell in love. Grindelwald was a bit dark though and he had the idea that the two of them would go on to rule the world and break the wizarding secrecy and become the dominant species. Dumbledore actually agreed to this and was on path to becoming a wizard supremacist. They wanted to find the Deathly Hallows and become immortal as well and Grindelwald already had one (the Elder Wand). Then one day as Dumbledore was about to leave his family and go with Grindelwald, he had a huge fight with his brother and sister. Dumbledore’s brother was furious and they had a three way duel. Their little sister was traumatized and intervened and one of the random spells hit her and killed her (nobody knew who killed her). Grindelwald immediately left and Dumbledore was left without the guy he loved and without his sister. Dumbledore’s brother punched Albus during the funeral and accused him of ruining their family and they never managed to reconcile their relationship. Albus felt so guilty and from that moment on he no longer wanted to pursue any kind of power because he would be too tempted by it and only sought to do good in the world and help others. Meanwhile Grindelwald became the biggest dark wizard in the world (bigger than Voldemort) and caused a global wizarding war. Nobody was able to stop him and people pleaded Dumbledore for years to confront him but he couldn’t because he still loved him. Then he finally mustered up the courage and faced him in 1945 and they supposedly had the greatest duel of all time. Dumbledore defeated Grindelwald, gained the Elder Wand and Grindelwald went to prison for life. The movie actually changed this but when Voldemort went to Grindelwald to ask him about the Elder Wand, Grindelwald laughed in his face and trolled him. Voldemort killed him but Grindelwald died not wanting to reveal Albus’ secret. That was his moment of redemption and showed that despite being a dark wizard, Grindelwald still had some good in him and that he still cared about Dumbledore.
as far as I remember I got the gist that though Dumbledore and Aberforth never truly reconciled they still saw each other from time to time and Aberforth did pass information along to Albus?
@@Simplenotion They did communicate and Aberforth did help out with the Order, but they were certainly estranged and you see from his interaction with the trio in the final book how bitter he is and mad at his brother.
Regarding Riddle’s upbringing. The big thing that is left out in the movies is that his mom had his dad under a love potion when he was conceived. After he was born she released him and he ran away. His mom swore off magic and gave Tom to an orphanage before she died. He blamed his dad, hence the muggle hate, and he can’t experience love because he was conceived on a love potion.
People always get tripped up on the maths for the horcruxes. Voldy wanted to split his soul into Seven pieces. Thats 6 horcruxes, and one inside himself. If there was 7 horcruxes, his soul would be in 8 pieces.
Its never been shown on the movies but the piece of mirror Harry has was given to him by Sirius, preety much when the two of them was talking about goodness and darkness inside Harry, on the only Christmass they spent together at Black's house
Can we comment on what a healthy friendship Harry and Hermione have? I absolutely love the depiction of a different gender friendship that *doesn't* go straight to romance
yup. The dancing scene in the tent, that so many people hate, is my favorite scene out of the movie (which is my favorite of the movies) - it's so human and real. They feel hopeless, hungry, lonely and are worn out by this seemingly impossible never-ending task. Harry tries to cheer up Hermione by making her laugh and dances with her...there's a tiny "this is awkward we are two straight heterosexual bff teenagers who've never been so alone with and close to each other" and it quickly passes and what stays it this incredibly strong friendship.
as much as i agree, i prefer their relationship in the books more. they never really blended well together personality wise only made sense in theory in whatever relation you might put them in. that is why ron leaving was also heavier in the last book cause he was always the glue of the trio, the bridge between harmione. the movies had a subtle hint of "oh something could've happened if circumstances were different" cause the director was a harmione shipper and hermione fan. in the books, its made clear from the start theres NO WAY any romantic stuff would ever happen between those two and they're just the best of buddies eventho she might annoy harry a lot at times and he might not know how to handle hermione's emotions. in harry's words "she's like my sister. i thought you knew that."
Oh I don't think there ever was anything romantic between them in the movie at all. Just an awkward teenie moment which is a nice tiny extension to the book @@lilbrownbear
@@Simplenotion its not intended as romantic but some moments borderline that sense. most of these harmione shippers exist because of that. like if u read the books, right off the bat you picked up on the fact that romione was gonna be the couple of the 3. but movie watchers take uptill book3/4 to realize what direction its going. a lot assume and feel in the beginning that harmione could be the one.
Nagini is actually a cursed witch. She wasn’t always a snake and that’s actually Harry’s house and hideout now. Sirius left it for him in case he died. Kreacher, the house elf also belongs to Harry. It’s why he has to listen to him even tho he doesn’t like him.
@@i.marchand4655 Also don't forget the battle of hogwarts. Kreacher leading the army of house elf's into the battlefield and storming at the death eaters. One of the badass moment in the whole series for sure.
I refuse to recognize the horrendous Fantastic Beast films as canon. The obscurus bullshit, the Nagini-Maledictus origin story. I just wish Rowling stuck to writing novels where she excels at, and not screenwriting. The second one was the worst BY FAR. I don't know what happened there, but she should stay away from screenwriting, it's not her forte. Trash movies. The first one is decent because the stakes are low, it's more wholesome and whimsical, it's more adult oriented but not in a "dark mature" way, more like a warmth rom com mixed with mystery and adventure. But they tried to shoehorne the Dumbledore vs Grindelwald war and thats how it went to shit. The sequel's storyline is one of the worst messes I've ever watch in a franchise. EDIT: It doesn't help she recognize The Cursed Child as canon. So yeah, to me JKR lost her mind a long time ago and now she is fucking senile with her franchise. I only take the seven books as canon, everything else is compromised.
One of my favorite serials from the book that didn’t make it into the movies is that Rufus Scrimgeur, the minister of magic, was literally tortured to death for days but refused to give up any information about Harry. He was a man of war in the time of war and didn’t know how to handle the ministry, but he was a good man.
8:20 , there're two things for the reason why Hermione manipulated her parents' memories about her: 1) She could create a fake memory for them to move to Australia with new identities, so the Death Eaters wouldn't be able to track them down. She intend to go finding them to restored their memory after the battle. 2) In case she couldn't return from the battle, they wouldn't be heart-broken from losing her.
Spartan made a comment about Ron finally finally using magic well like with the behind the back shot. Ron is way better using magic in the books (except when his wand is broken) than he is in the movies. A lot of the magical things he did in the books were done by Hermione in the movies...
I would have loved the inclusion of a little scene in the book when Harry, Ron and Hermione were visiting Mr. Lovegood and they Harry was in Luna's room. It shows how much Luna cared for her friends and (in my eyes) what a sweet person she actually is. If I recall correctly, the movies also never mention that Luna's mother died because of a failed experiment which also kinda shows that Luna and Harry even share some similarities and she can relate pretty well to Harry (in general she is described as having the ability to speak uncomfortable truths) “Luna had decorated her bedroom ceiling with five beautifully painted faces: Harry, Ron, Hermione, Ginny, and Neville. They were not moving as the portraits at Hogwarts moved, but there was a certain magic about them all the same: Harry thought they breathed. What appeared to be fine golden chains wove around the pictures, linking them together, but after examining them for a minute or so, Harry realized that the chains were actually one word, repeated a thousand times in golden ink: friends . . . friends . . . friends . . .” Would have loved to see that in the movies.
53:40, the last part is Voldemort himself. He wanted his soul split in seven, which meant keeping a piece for himself, otherwise, the soul would be split in 8
THANK YOU for adding the beautiful reading of the instance of Moody's eye in the door to Umbridge's office by Stephen Fry! Great reaction, guys, but Pudgey is just so much more intuitive than Spartan 😂
Lucius fell out of favor with Voldemort for failing to bring back the prophecy which Harry retrieved from the Department of Mysteries at the Ministry of Magic. Voldemort realized Harry and himself share a mind connection (through which Harry knew when Ron's father was attack by Nagini while standing guard over the prophecy in the Department of Mysteries), and Voldemort then used the mind connection to craft a false vision of Sirius captured and being tortured at the Department of Mysteries. Lucius was lying in wait to ambush them for the prophecy once harry retrieved it (as only somebody about whom the prophecy is made could retrieve it, i.e. Harry or Voldemort). Voldemort didn't want to retrieve it himself as there was high risk of revealing he was alive again. Lucius failed in his task and Voldemort ended up having to come anyway, and ended up being revealed. I think he blamed Lucius for that if I remember correctly. Losing favor from that is also why Draco was given the task of killing Dumbledore (Which Narcissa, Draco's mother, made Snape swear to help Draco with). Voldemort never expected Draco to succeed in achieving Dumbledore's death, but if he did it was a win for Voldemort. It was however more likely Draco would die, or be captured, in the attempt, and so Voldemort giving Draco this task wasn't an honor, but a punishment of Lucius.
its also why Voldemort took Lucius wand, making him Wandless, it is his way of saying, you are no longer worthy of being a wizard, Malfoys were basically a muggle family by that point
she's actually not removing her parents memories of her in case she dies in the war it's so that Voldemort and his death eaters can't use her parents to get to her.
The reason no one could save Dobby is because the blade that killed him was cursed and only someone who is knowledgeable in healing cuts ( which takes serious training ) can help. It's similar to when Harry used Snape's spell on Draco, the spell caused multiple cuts but Snape being knowledgeable in healing his own spell knew how to heal it
where do you get the blade being cursed from? It is never mentioned nor shown, not in the movies nor the books. Dobby had a blade stuck in his tiny little heart, that's lethal, simple as that. And none of the trio know any healing spells because for some reason those don't get taught at Hogwarts.
@@orphanedhanyouIn the books, Hermione was unconscious when Dobby died. Even if she was knowledgeable, she couldn't have saved Dobby. In the movie, they left her just sort of dumbfounded with no explanation as to why she didn't even try to save him.
Fun fact, If you notice, most of the adults can cast a spell without saying it out loud. It is called a non-verbal spell, it is advance spell casting and students learn it during their sixth yr. And also to apparate (teleport) they need to apply for a license. Just like a driving license. It was so funny in the books how they learn and what happened during the licensure exams😂. By this time, they're already licensed to apparte(teleport). That's also why in the sixth movie, Harry still need to hold dumbledore's hand to apparate. And why they need portkeys, other ways of transportation in the earliear movies due to them still being underage.
Seriously, though, I think that it is important for people to understand that if their girlfriend always demands to be treated as right even when they aren't, that's a toxic relationship. I'm not saying Pudgey is like this, but the jokes people make about a husband always treating a wife as correct can lead people into an abusive relationship if they take it as actual advice.@@turntsnaco824
Umbridge had a squib brother and a muggle mother who she hated. She was raised by her father. She had a very dysfunctional childhood that she was ashamed of and therefore lied about being a pureblood.
Read the books, Dobby plays a bigger role in Harry’s life than in the movie so Dobby’s death I so much more heart wrenching. Can’t wait for your reaction to the last one. Great reaction. (Read the books - or listen on audiobooks. 🙂
When they say there's 3 more horcruxes to go it's because Voldemort supposedly created 6 He had an obsession with the number 7 as they state it to be "the most magical number" for some reason. He asks Slughorn if it's possible to split the soul in 7 pieces, considering one would remain in the main body, that equals 6 horcruxes (There's a little hint to his thing with 7 in that scene when Dumbledore visits him in the orphanage in which he keeps 7 stones by the window alongside that picture Pudgey noticed of the cave in which the fake necklace was hidden)
Watching Spartan totally invested and absorbed (as we all were) and watching Pudgey tear up and feel the emotion was a great reaction. You will love the ending. Please post the last video ASAP!

@@awanereyiogret9557it’s not a symbol of it being “over”, a big theme of it is that the series will continue to live on forever no matter how old it is. it’s timeless. Robbie Coltrane (RIP) even says, “you could be watching it in 50 years time easy. i’ll not be here, sadly. but Hagrid will be.”
Malfoy was so trusted by Voldemort that he was given the diary to keep safe. He gave part of Voldemort's SOUL to eleven year old Ginny Weasley and as a result it was destroyed. Yeah, Voldy is pissed.
3 horcruxes down. 3 to go. The horcrux played on Ron's insecurities and fears but it pushed too far and Ron's temper kicked in. I think it was hoping Ron would go after Harry but Ron knew the locket was responsible even in his anger. Lucius Malfoy is in Voldemort's bad graces for letting the prophecy be destroyed. Getting himself and a bunch of other Death Eaters sent to Azkaban didn't help.
At the begining Snape wasnt trying to convince them not to attack. He is giving them the exact date they are moving Harry and the method. Thats how they are waiting to ambush them in the next scene.
In Slughorn's memory, Tom asked about splitting ones soul into 7 pieces, not creating 7 horcruxes. That would mean the piece left inside Voldy and 6 horcruxes.
Voldemort split his soul into 7, so that's one piece in him and 6 horcruxes. At the end of this film, we know 3 have been destroyed and there are 3 left! Harry destroyed Tom Riddle's diary in his second year with the basilisk fang. Dumbledore used the basilisk venom-infused Sword of Gryffindor to destroy Marvolo Gaunt's (Voldemort's grandad's) ring. Ron used the Sword again to destroy Slytherin's Locket! We don't know what the other three are...
They had it figured out already. Like just watch the movies. Why do they have to deep dive into everything 😂 they spoil themselves of all the cool surprises twists and turns. Pudge already hit the nail on the head with Snape and Lilly. Ruined 🤦♂️😂
It's so weird how these people refuse to believe anyone dies. A character could be beheaded in closeup and they still would go "nah, he's coming back", it's a wonder they accepted that Dobby died. Also, the characters say there are only three horcruxes left because Voldemort split his soul in seven, so six horcruxes plus him.
It is weird how they generally refuse to accept death considering none of the characters who have died in the past 6 movies have ever come back lol. It’s not like Cedric is walking around anymore.
Tbf, Sirius’ death is strange. You see him getting cursed and then sucked into the veil. It’s never really described what it is in the movies, so I get why people think he’s not dead
@@George15843 but like you said yourself, before getting sucked into the veil, Sirius is cursed, hit with Avada Kedavra. And while the film doesn't explain much about the veil at all, all the films keep hammering home again and again the fact that *no one* ever survives the killing curse, that Harry is the *only one* who's ever survived, that that's why he's famous, that's why he's special. And if it was only Sirius it would be one thing, but no. Moody? Nah, he's not dead. Dumbledore? Nah, he transferred himself into his wand (???). And so on.
@@andrewguenther988 "Hey Harry! It was pretty wild what happened last term wasn't it? Thank goodness Professor Sprout had a batch of Super Mandrake Juice to reverse that killing curse from You-Know-Who. Pretty cool how no wizards ever die isn't it? By the way, sorry about not backing you and Dumbledore up with your story, but I'm angling for a Ministry job you know, and well...Anyway, off to snog Cho, toodles!"
@@TheMoviePlanetActually they are comparing it to LOTR too much you see. Don't even try to understand there are different rules in different verses. That's the problem.😅
One of my favorite things about these movies are how much the actors put into it. 2 of my favorite scenes are 1: in order of the Phoenix when Sirius does, only because the silent scream from Daniel(Harry). They silenced it because Daniel's scream was so heartbreaking. And 2: is the scene where hermione is tortured in this movie because the actress that played Bellatrix felt bad because she actually thought she was hurting Emma.
The Three Brothers are the Peverell Family and yes the Potters are descended from them. As are too the Gaunt family, Voldemort's mother's family..the wizarding world is small so many families especially pureblood families are related Did you recognise the actor who plays Luna's dad? It's Rhys Ifans...Otto Hightower from House of the Dragon! He looks so young in this one!
The reason why they think there is only 3 left after destroying 3 is because Voldemort wanted to split his soul into 7 pieces, meaning the 6 horcruxes, with 1 piece in his body making 7 pieces.
In the movies it was Hedwig who gave Harry away - she flew to protect her master so they knew that was Harry. In the books it was Harry's good nature and reluctance to kill. He used "expelliarmus" to attempt to disarm, which is also the same spell he used when duelling Voldemort in the graveyard. The deatheaters recognised him because of it - when he used that spell, one of the deatheaters flew away yelling "it's him" so they all honed in on him and Hagrid. Lupin lectured him about it telling him the time for disarming is over. It's kill or be killed. The spell had unfortunately become his "signature" move. In the books, Hedwig was still caged. She was hit with the curse then she went down with the bike and Harry felt pained when it exploded, because he knew for sure she was dead.
It took me a little bit to figure out the math about the horcruxes myself since Tom asked about splitting his soul into 7 pieces. Tom did intend to split his soul into seven; the 6 horcruxes plus himself would have made seven pieces.
"No I do care! Hes on team Harry. Im team Harry." This was such a wholesome reaction to Pudgey stating Spartan probably doesnt care about Nevilles parents.
Dumbledore played the ultimate chess game. Literally, almost everything that happens is because of him, down to the smallest detail. Also, I have to admit, both of you, especially Pudgy, have great instincts on guessing what will happen. Awesome reviews.
I've watched alot of reaction videos to Harry Potter and only about two have noticed that Moodys eye was in the door, well done Pudgey 👏 Love all your reactions cant wait for the last one. Make sure you watch the anniversary reunion too thats really good ❤
Voldemort wanted to split his soul into 7 pieces. That means 6 Horcruxes. Because he have one part soul in his own body so with 6 horcruxes it adds up to 7 pieces of his soul. That is why they said only 3 left. The destroyed once are the book from second movie, the ring from 6th movie and the locket from this one. (All of this has been revealed by this point so it is spoiler free.)
The Cloak of Invisibility was passed down to Ignotus's son. Ignotus's son had no male heirs so his oldest daughter, Iolanthe, inherited it instead. The Peverell family died in the male line around this time, but the heirloom was passed down the generations through the female line, the Potters, as Iolanthe had married Hardwin Potter from Stinchcombe In the 20th century, the Cloak eventually ended up in the hands of Henry Potter, a Wizengamot member, ❤❤❤
Umbridge actually never was a death eater. She was a half blood too, and through stealing that locket that she presented as a family heirloom she tried to blend in and be "legit" herself.
You guys consistently post the best reactions ! Been watching since your Game of Thrones series and it's always such a treat. The HP series is such an emotional rollercoaster and I'm glad we have the opportunity to experience it alongside ya'll : )
We early today. Made some proper Korean Tteokbokki for this reaction, I feel like I have to eat something really good when I watch stuff I really enjoy. Keep it up 🔥
I'm so glad you guys noticed the sound design at 28:05, Its very subtle but it serves as an auditory way of showing the influence these horcruxes have on people, cant wait for part 2!😊
The boy's reaction is really not great in the movies. In the book, Ron is going crazy, screaming Hermione's name, banging at the walls, sobbing. Here it's like "whatever".
Another case of book-to-movie exclusion: In the book, Voldemort put a jinx on his name that tracks anyone who utters it. Hence, why Death Eaters showed up when Xenophilius said Voldy's name. Harry, having no fear of Voldy, say the name and gets the gang caught.
Yo the editor here. That is my favorite scene from the entire movie as well and I did really want to include it but as the other comment already mentioned it was really tricky with copyright because of the music and also during that whole scene Pudgey and Spartan barely said anything so with those two factors combined it wasnt really possible to make it work for youtube. Trust me I tried
I have a question about editing. Do Pudgey and Spartan pause the video when they want to say something? Because I noticed that we see them watch a clip and then talk about it. Are they just talking over other parts of the movie or do they pause the movie? Because I never see the movie playing while they are talking. @@edwinvoncarstein
@@greywolf7577 No they don't pause the movie so it's playing at all times even when it's not shown in the video. Because of the copyright guidelines on youtube you cant really play a movie or a tv show for an extended period of time so that's why we try to show the most relevant parts of the movie in short clips and break them up with their commentary in real time so the video falls under the youtube copyright guidelines while also being watchable. Those youtube guidelines are actually pretty strict so that's why Spartan and Pudgey needed to hire an editor because it takes way more time and effort than anyone would expect to put it all together in a way that would satisfy both the youtube overlords and the viewers. They post full length, uninterrupted reactions on their patreon if you are interested.
The patronus that showed him the sword was a Doe not a stag. Important distinction. Harry's is a stag. Like his Dad.. as previously mentioned when he saved himself at the pond in an earlier movie where they time travel.
