I live in SE Wisconsin about 90 minutes from Galloping Ghost. I'm so lucky to be close. I read that Funspot is "the world's largest" arcade and I suppose it is in terms of square footage. I was at Funspot a few years ago and they have open spaces and party areas and a lot of room. But the honest truth is that GG is the largest arcade in the world in terms of sheer game density. Doc has amassed the world's greatest single collection of cabinets without any doubt. There are more one-of-a-kind games than just the five that Tim reviewed with Doc in this video. Example: GGs copy of Narc has a unique motherboard the programmer created and shelved that provided an additional secret level that wasn't included in the general release of Narc. But the programmer gave the special board to Doc to put into GGs copy making GGs Narc one of a kind. That's just one example. There are many more at GG.
I also live in SE wisconsin and I agree. If you’re an arcade fan, one look at their game list is all you need to know that this place is the real deal. Funspot is more of a redemption game place and their claim as the largest is based on square footage as you said. Their list of arcade games pales in comparison to GGs. The amount of rare, unique games GG has is incredible and as someone who’s really into shoot ‘em ups, their selection is _highly_ impressive. They spared no expense getting rare games you’d have a hard time finding outside of Akihabara. Same goes for other genres. Not only do they have 900 games but the selection is of the utmost quality.
I’ve been to Galloping Ghost 3 times (traveled from Baltimore)…took my 11-year-old son and a friend of mine back in June, and they both were completely overwhelmed by the place lol. I’m going back in February! Doc is a great dude, too!
854 games? WOOOO! sounds like heaven to me, tim. You must've been like a kid in a candy shop lol. I wish there was a place near me like this. I'd never leave the place. The misses would serve me with divorce papers in no time. Loved this.👍👍

oh man the Blaster DuraMold version.... I remember a story from Eugene Jarvis that appeared in the midway arcade treasures collection how the plastic wound up shrinking on the cabinet, and launched the monitor across the arcade... luckily the only casualty was a Donkey Kong Jr. such a wild story! Definitely would love to make the trek out there someday! SO many freaking cool games already on top of those rare/unreleased/prototypes/imports!
Tim thank you for sharing. GG is amazing and I want to go. As an arcade and pinball collector this place is a dream for many of us. What blows me away is how many games he's got shoehorned in that place and how do you move games around or if the game goes down do you move it out and fix it in that crowded of a space? It just boggles the mind.
Welcome! The amount of games is crazy! I have no idea how they move games around at Galloping Ghost but they must have some system. I would say 95% or more of the games are running at Galloping Ghost which is crazy with the amount of games they have on the floor!
That place looks pretty awesome. Though I do find it really surprising he lets people play on these crazy rare cabinets. TBH Not sure I would play them because if something went bad while I was I could never afford to fix it or stop feeling guilty even if it wasn't my fault.
This is why I love your channel. Your passion for arcade and retro games. Thanks for sharing this interview with Doc, such a cool guy. I love learning about games that I've never heard of before. 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thank you so much!! What a thrill it was to spend time with Doc!! Super nice, very informative and knowledgeable about the arcade scene !! I can’t wait till they expand and I’ll try and get back there and get some more footage! Hope to checkout Yetee Arcade in the near future and do a video checking it out!
Thanks for the video. Arcades are a big thing many of us growing up in the 80/90s. Their vibes are real and if you happen to have known people playing at the arcade, you probably have great undying memories. Thanks again.
The Aladdin's Castle in Lafayette, Indiana had a Duramold Blaster for years in the 1980s and I played a whole lot of it. I never realized until relatively recently it was a rare game.
I've always wanted to visit Gallpoing Ghost. I've visited FunSport on couple of occasions. I remember watching the interviews about the Blaster cabinets in the Arcade's Greatest Hits Midway Collection 2 on the PS1. Get that game if you don't already have it. Freeze reminds me of Magical Drop. Love seeing videos about rare and obscure arcade games.
I love that pacman shirt! Those cabs a sweet, i really liked the Blaster cab, super colorful game, reminds me of robotron. So many games ive never heard about at this arcade! Would love to play primal rage 2. Did i hear correctly that there is a Beavis and Butthead cab there too? Or was he referring to the home console game? Good stuff Tim, love these arcade behind the scenes videos! 🤌
Thank you! Yes Beavis and Butthead cab at Galloping Ghost Arcade! Theses are some of my favorite videos to do! I need to make a trip back this summer! I have a couple Doc Mac videos I did with at his arcade! Super cool guy!
My mind is blown that he’s able to find these ultra rare games 🤯🤯🤯 So glad that people like Doc are resurrecting these classics as they will always be a part of mine, and probably a lot of other peoples, childhood memories. Ty ❤️🙏🏻
Doc is awesome! Here is another video i did recently with Doc! Galloping Ghost Arcade - 5 Gottlieb Extremely Rare games - Doc Mac Arcade Owner ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-MxBrr_V0kEU.html
If Doc would add new releases to his arcade it would be worth to go everyday but I already played all these games on consoles and back in the 1980’s now arcade 1 up is releasing all these games once they all get released it’s not going to be worth going to Doc arcade ever again he needs to add tekken 8 street fighter 6 Pac-Man pixel house of the dead 5 and needs to work on making his games have a louder sound they don’t all have sounds when I went without sound it’s boring to play the games there is another arcade that has a lot of arcade games also but has a lot of new releases that cost $2.00 to play in which I won’t pay that much that’s why I want Doc to add those
"Blaster" looks like it either has some impressive 3D rastering going on or some early real-time sprite scaling. But of course I would expect nothing less from Eugene Jarvis, a legend among legends in the world of arcade games. If you are a fan of his classic games such as "Robotron" and "Defender" I highly recommend this lecture he gave on the development of "Robotron" (and other goodies). It's awesome: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8AbiBOK8jZ0.htmlsi=djQuCIBc5wQHmOts
