In this video, I’ll show you a series of maneuvers how I dock into and back out of the slip. Videos were recorded in different days with different weather and current conditions. Docking/undocking processes hugely depend on the marina, and more importantly the wind and current.

Good work, I have a Catalina 30 also, and found that a midship clear with a spring line aft really helps my docking and undocking. I can but the engine in forward, kick the rudder over, and tie/untie the bow and stern lines at my leisure. It took a lot of the “excitement” out of having to jump to the dock quickly. Thanks for the videos!

Hello Friend, enjoyed the docking video . I had a Catalina 30 in Muskegon Michigan on Lake Michigan. I sold it last year. Have two smaller sailboats and a cabin powerboat at present. Looking for a Catalina 32 or another 30. Most of the time I’m singlehanding. Docking is often an adventure. 😊 there are often crosswinds which are challenging. One of my sailing friends and I laughingly tell each other “ Sooner or later the boat has to be docked.” But docking the Catalina was always more predictable than the powerboat. I wish you well. Great video. Went sailing in the Bay for the first time last week on a charter boat and absolutely fell in love with it. Now all I can think about is learning to sail and finding an inexpensive but good boat for sale. I look forward to watching more of your videos and hope that one day I get the opportunity to see you guys out on the water. I subscribed.
